The war room smelled of gun oil, smoke, and fear. The kind of air that burned when you breathed it in, thick with tension and loyalty about to be tested.

Lucien stood at the head of the long oak table, hands braced on the wood, eyes fixed on the map of the city sprawled before him. Red pins marked the Moretti territories, black ones marked their enemies. A new cluster of black now sat where none had been before, San Marcos.

Santiago de la Cruz.

Lucien’s jaw flexed as Raul Navarro’s voice cut through the silence. “He called for them. Every family. Every house that still breathes under the old code.”

Lucien didn’t move. He didn’t blink. “You’re sure?”

Raul nodded once. “My men confirmed it this morning after I recieved mine. De la Cruz has summoned the syndicate. He’s calling for your crown.”

The room went still.

One of the younger lieutenants shifted uncomfortably, the sound of his boots echoing too loud. “Sir, if this is true..."

Lucien stood in the center of his study, the faint glow of the city spilling through the tall windows. Kira’s words still echoed in his mind: Raul Navarro had taken Emilia. He is her captor. He knew what Emilia is to him. For a heartbeat, Lucien simply stared at the floor, fists clenched, his mind spinning with a storm of emotions, relief, rage, obsession.Raul Navarro. Loyal, cunning, and invisible until now. The thought that he had orchestrated Emilia’s abduction without his knowledge both infuriated and fascinated him.“Damn it!” he growled, slamming a fist on the desk. The papers and maps scattered, fluttering across the floor like wounded birds. Every fiber of him screamed. How dare him?His breathing was heavy, controlled chaos beneath the surface. Lucien’s mind raced, tactical scenarios and possible outcomes flashing like strobe lights. He could feel the obsession clawing deeper, every second Emilia was out of reach, every decision made without him, every heartbeat that wasn’

The streets were quiet now, the danger temporarily behind her, but Kira didn’t relax. Every shadow could still hide a threat. Every whisper could carry betrayal. She moved swiftly, slipping back into the estate through the secret tunnel. Her footsteps were silent, practiced, familiar. No one noticed her return, no one could intercept her.Once inside, she moved directly to her bedroom. The door closed behind her with a soft click. The dim light of the room did little to ease the tension in her chest. Her bag hit the floor with a soft thud, but she didn’t pause to breathe. Not yet. She needed to relay what she had learned. Every second counted. She took a moment, glancing at the shadows of the room, then picked up her phone and signaled for Lucien’s men.Within minutes, they arrived. Two of his most trusted men, silent and efficient. They moved with purpose, carrying themselves as extensions of Lucien’s will.Kira stood and looked at them, voice low and urgent. “Get him here. Now. The room was dim, silent except for the faint drip of water somewhere in the corner. Emilia had stopped counting the hours long ago. Hunger and thirst were minor compared to the gnawing frustration that clawed at her mind. She paced in the small space, restless, aching for action, for any clue, for… freedom.A subtle noise at the door made her freeze. The lock clicked. The door creaked open.A man stepped in, tall, calm, his presence commanding in a way that made her instincts flare.“Raul Navarro,” she said automatically, her tone a mixture of wariness and surprise. She was shocked and did not expect that he would ever betray Lucien. And somehow Emilia is curious as why, he would put himself in such position when he could have easily gain Lucien's favor. He gave her a slow, sardonic smile. “I didn’t expect such a warm welcome.”Emilia’s hands instinctively flexed. “There is nothing warm about it. What do you want?”He shook his head, taking a slow step closer. “It’s a shame,” he sai

The mansion disappeared behind her as Kira moved quickly through the dark streets. Every shadow felt like it was watching her, every step measured, every breath controlled. She knew exactly where she was headed, Celia’s place.Celia, the woman who could make or break a life with a whisper, a glance, or a price tag. She was influential, greedy, and ruthless. And Kira knew her well enough to slip past her defenses and into her bedroom without alerting anyone.Celia wasn’t in the room. The shower ran in the background. Kira leaned against the doorframe, waiting. The steam swirled, masking her presence perfectly. Finally, the water stopped. Celia emerged, wrapped in a towel, her hair dripping, eyes wide as they landed on Kira.“K-Kira?” Celia stammered, half shocked, half suspicious. “I thought… you just… disappeared from the surface of the earth. Rumors said you were hiding in… in Lucien Moretti’s mansion.”Kira smirked faintly, stepping fully into the room. “Mind your business, Celia. I

The lie was simple, but it had to be perfect.Kira caught a “flu.” A high fever, a cough that seemed urgent and contagious enough to keep her isolated. The household was none the wiser.Lucien watched her from a distance, his eyes calculating, his jaw tight. No one could know she was leaving. Not now. Not ever.He appeared at her door in the dead of night, shadows swallowing them both as he gestured for her to follow.“You ready?” he asked quietly.Kira nodded, her expression calm. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”The hallways were silent. Only the soft echo of their boots against the polished floors marked their passage. Lucien led her to a hidden passage, an old, dark tunnel that stretched beneath the estate. Dust swirled in the faint light, and the air smelled of earth and secrecy. Before she could step forward, he handed her a small, black device. A tracker. “Stay within range. I’ll be monitoring every step.”Kira raised an eyebrow. “I’ve got my own ways, Lucien. You really think I can
