4 Standing Before The Savage Alpha

Alvina was finally brought in before the king, her groom wearing a ragged gown. The Alpha King was behind a translucent black curtain and also masked, but the aura emanating from him sent several chills down her spine.

Without being told, she fell to her knees and bowed her head.

“A-Alvina greets the... the Alpha... Alpha king,” she managed to say with trembling lips.

Shockingly, she could feel her wolf stir for the first time after many years of slumbering.

‘Alvina, go to him. Ours,’ she said in her head.

It befuddled her and she asked her wolf, 'Janet, what do you mean?'

'Dummy, he's ours! Mate!' her wolf happily responded.

'Mate?' Alvina was bewildered at these words from Janet. Fated mates were something rare, and so most people chose whom they wanted to marry, just like the humans.

But in the case of fated mates, unless they reject each other, they cannot marry someone else.

And according to what she knew, fated mates would feel a spark run through their bodies when they touched for the first time.

That hadn't happened and yet her wolf was happily declaring the scary man whose face she hadn't even seen as mate?

“How dare you be obmutescent before the king?" a harsh-toned voice and a stinging slap to the right side of her face brought her to reality.

It was a red-haired man with two scars that ran from his right eyebrow down to his cheek that hit her just now and she assumed he was the Beta since he was the one closest to the Alpha King.

“I'm sorry, your majesty. Please, forgive me,” she prostrated quickly with a trembling body.

“Lift your head,” she heard a melodious voice say. This voice gave her both calm and then chills. It belonged to the Alpha King. She obeyed without hesitation.

The Beta threw a paper to her and a pen.

“Sign it,” she heard her groom say. There was no time to read it. She quickly picked up the pen and placed the paper on the marble floor, quickly signing at the required places before handing the paper and pen back to the stern-faced Beta.

“Now that you've signed it, your 30 days of breeding trial begins today. You are temporarily my wife and breeder until the end of those days. I need just one thing from you- an heir, a son! If you can't conceive by the 30th day, well, you know what happens,” the king said in a leisurely tone.

Alvina hurriedly nodded, “Yes, your majesty. I will do my utmost to produce you a valiant heir.”

“You are obedient. It’s almost the end of April. I will visit you on the 15th day of next month since I'm very busy,” the king said and she nodded her agreement.

“Excellent! Go back to your chambers, Breeder Alvina and enjoy your life with the little time you have left.” After the king said this, a guard literally dragged her out of the throne room and threw her down outside it.

Waiting for her was Deliana who wore an expressionless face along with two other unfamiliar maids. By her command, the two maids helped her get up and took her away to her chambers.

***

On the 15th day…

10 am…

Imperial garden.

Alvina was seated on a red wooden chair, staring at a large, ancient-looking brown book that she was holding, but in truth, her mind was somewhere else.

Today was the D-Day.

The Alpha king was to come to her chambers. She didn't know if it would be in the day, or at night. but whichever time he chose, was she really prepared to do the deed with him?

Yes, according to Janet, Alpha Ryder was her fated mate. But did he know? If he did, probably there was a higher chance that he'd spare her even after the one-month trial period expires, even if she did not conceive!

Internally she was anxious; apprehensive about how he might be when he comes ultimately to her chambers and how he does the deed.

She was a virgin and she knew that it always hurts on the first night.Would he be gentle with her?

She shuddered at the thought of him being wild and ignoring her chaste state. For the past 14 days, she had never ceased worrying about her life.

A part of her prayed that the said day would come quicker. But now that the day had finally arrived, a part of her also wanted to go back to those days of waiting.

Her personal maid, Deliana, was standing at a certain distance behind her, her head humbly bowed.

Over the past two weeks, she had been triumphant in taming the unruly maid of hers and made her carry out her commands without hesitation and without complaint.

They were both Omegas and even if her own life would be short, she was queen and the other was a maid.

Now she was the one in possession of that whip that Deliana had intimidated her with on the first day she arrived in the Black Soul pack.

“My queen,” Deliana called out softly.

“Yes, what is it?” she asked in an irked tone.

“Beta William just informed me.”

“Spit it out,” Alvina's tone softened. A message from the Beta was related to her husband.

“My queen, according to him... the Alpha will not be able to make it to your chambers tonight,” Deliana responded.

“Okay, tell him I've heard. I will dutifully await the Alpha King's visit.”

“Yes, my queen.”

Deliana mind linked Alvina's reply to the Beta who currently was in the Alpha's office discussing strategies to take down two stubborn Alphas' packs in one day.

“Alpha, she's responded.”

“Okay, what did she say?” the Alpha asked, his eyes still fixated on the two maps before him.

“She'll dutifully wait for you, whenever you're ready to visit her."

The Beta replied. “ Alright, let's continue. I'm a man of my word. I'll visit her tonight. I just want her to be surprised,” Alpha Ryder said with a thin smile plastered on his seen lips.

He was on his masked as always and only had numerous mask sets. Apart from himself, no one has fully seen the Alpha's face.
