Chapter Twenty four

Jefrey wonders why Alaska wanted a new phone all of a sudden. 

“Don, the new phone is here” he brought it to him. Alaska sits in a rear corner at the last floor watching from above as people gamble and play with their money. There’s wine before him; he sips from his glass watching. 

“Good” he places the glass of wine in his hand on the table and took the new phone from Jefrey. 

“Don, why do you suddenly need new phone?”

“I don’t need phone. It’s for her”

“Her?” Jefrey wonder who the her is, but then he realizes he must be talking about Ariel. Alaska has personally destroyed Ariel’s phone on the wedding day and give orders to restrict her from getting contact with any phone but he bought phone for her now. 

Jefrey looks at Alaska’s face, he did not have any readable expression but Jefrey knew Alaska is gradually changing from whom he had known. 

“Don, what did you think about her?”

Jefrey wanted to know if his thought about Ariel and Alaska was right. He thinks Alaska might have taken a liken to Alaska.

“She reminds me so much of Mia” he let out. He facial expression instantly turns frosty but sad. Jefrey sighed, now he seems to understand why the cold Alaska has been bending his rules all because of Ariel. 

“Mia always had those pitiful eyes too” Alaska adds and pause for a long time. 

The place went silent before Jefrey breaks the silent. 

“Don, I think you should really tell her about her fiancé who sold her” 

Jefrey thinks that since Ariel reminds Alaska so much about her lost sister, he should not be misunderstood by Ariel. 

“Let her think whatever she wants” 

Jefrey sigh, he knows Alaska always prefer to be misunderstood than explaining himself which was why everyone believes in the rumors about him. Though he can really be ruthless and brutal when it comes to dealing with mafias and people who crosses him, but he has never killed anyone or deal with people who don’t cross him. 

“What about the item?” 

“It’s in place” 

“Send it to him” Alaska said. 

“Alright Don” 

Alaska had acquired the CTN from Vito because he needed it, his godfather who adopted him promise to help find her lost sister if he could get him the CTN, which was why Vito had boycott him. 

“Don, do you think we should actually send it to godfather?” 

Alaska sighed. 

“What is Vito up to?” he asked.

 Alaska believes that Vito will definitely comes back to revenge. And even his godfather will not sit still knowing he had broken Vito’s hand. Which was why he wanted to hand over the CTN to him. It was not only because his godfather had promise to help find her lost sister.

“Nothing, he is still receiving treatment” 

“What of him?” Alaska asks about his godfather. 

“Godfather is with Vito in the hospital” 

“Those two must be plotting something”

Ariel could not sit still after getting back to her room.  

“What did they actually mean by her fiancé who sold her? That her must be me, right?” 

She looks so confused; she really could not understand what they are talking about. She would have ask them but she knew it will be useless to ask. 

“Jack cannot be the person they were talking about” she shakes her head in denial. 

“Jack cannot sell me. It must be some kind of mistake” she thinks, but she was not settled. Thinking about everything that had happened on her wedding day, Jack sudden disappearance and Alaska and his men suddenly barging into her wedding to claim her. 

“No! No!! Jack is not capable of doing that” she looks uneasy. 

“Jack loves me, he will never do that to me. Alaska must have said that to his men to justify his action of forcing this marriage on me” she tries to convince herself but she was not fully convinced.

“If Jack had sold me why will Alaska, then kill him?” she really believes that Alaska had killed Jack. 

“I really need to know the truth about everything” she sighed deeply. 

When Alaska came back to the estate that evening, he went straight to Ariel’s room to give her the new phone. Though he was going to allow her use the phone but he had connected the phone to his phone to monitor her activities on the phone. 

Ariel watches him as he walks into her room. She wonders if she was actually sold to him. 

Alaska throws the phone to her. 

“That is for you” Ariel looks confused, she knew Alaska had restrict her from using any phone. 

“Why?” she asks looking suspiciously at him. 

“You earn it” 

“Earn it?” she wonders what she did to earn it. Thinking about what she heard from Alaska’s men about been sold. She thinks that if Alaska had actually bought her like she heard, why will he buy her such expensive phone? She believes it must all be a lie to make her hate Jack. 

“Is this a way to monitor me or what?” 

Alaska looks puzzled, he indeed will use the phone to monitor her, but it was not the reason why he had bought the phone for her. 

“Do you think that is necessary?”

Ariel nods, it was indeed not necessary. He is Alaska, why will he need a phone to monitor her?

At the Casino, the campaign manager had called to tell Alaska some good news. After the press conference, announcing that Ariel is pregnant. A company “The power babies and products” wanted to make Ariel and Alaska their ambassadors. Alaska and Ariel had been trending on social medias and news, the company wanted to use them for themselves. 

With Alaska running for governorship election, they believe it will be a good thing to collaborate with him and have Ariel represent their babies’ products, not only Ariel but with Alaska. 

Since Alaska is a mafia, it will really bring out the motive behind their baby products which is the “power babies”.

Alaska’s campaign manager believes it will help the election and Alaska’s popularity, so Alaska decides to go with the idea. 

He is not the type to mix with the outside world but for the election, his willing to do anything. 

“We will be going for some photoshops tomorrow” he tells her looking hesitant. 

“And you might be asked about your pregnancy condition too” he adds.

Ariel frowns. 

“What does that mean?” she was not even pregnant. 

“I think some company want you to represent them since you are pregnant” 

“Pregnant!” she looks a bit scared.

“Are you not pregnant?” Alaska looks at her questionably.

“Of course!” she forces a smile. 

“Alright then, prepare for tomorrow?” he turns to leave the room. Ariel wonders if she should ask about what his men had said. 

As Alaska was about to leave the room, she braces herself to ask. 

“Did you actually buy me?” 

Alaska halts, it came as a shock. He wonders why she will ask such questions but he slowly turns to her. 

“Did you think I will waste my money on someone like you?” 

He turns and leave. Ariel feels infuriate with his words, she believes she must be stupid to think Jack will actually sell her.
