Chapter Twenty three

A big smile is plastered on Alaska’s face as he descends downstairs, he really enjoys himself while feeding Ariel the food. It reminds him so much of his lost sister. Alaska and her younger sister were left at the orphanage by their drunkard father. While in the orphanage, Alaska did everything to protect her sister, feeding her food. 

There were so many children in the orphanage that no one was available to feed children of their age and they had to feed themselves, but Alaska will feed her sister and takes beatings for her from the bullies in the orphanage. 

But after Alaska was adopted by his godfather to Russia, he was separated from his sister for fifteen years. Which was the main reason he came back to Alaska, he tries to look for his sister after he came back but there was no information of her, Alaska has since then been searching for her and trying to find clues about his lost sister. 

Ariel really reminds him so much of her sister, which was why he was soft with her and it was the reason behind his principles of being respectful towards any females. 

He doesn’t know why, but feeding Ariel like that makes him feels so happy.

Alaska was still having the smile on his face when he got to the first floor where Jefrey and the others were. Jefrey frowns the moment he sees Alaska having a smiling face, he could not believe his eyes.

It was not only Jefrey but the others too, none of them has seen Alaska having such smile ever since they have known him. All of them look at each other in disbelief, they wondered what has happened between Alaska and Ariel in the room. 

“Don!” they let out surprise. Alaska turns to them wondering why they surprisingly call him, he did not realize he was having such a big smile on his face either.

“Order for the latest phone” Alaska tells Jefrey. 

“Alright Don” 

“You, you” Alaska points to some of his men to follow him. 

“Let’s go to the casino”

They look surprise, Alaska is not use to visiting the casino but only when there is something important. But today he was willing to visit the casino without any reason, because of that, they believe something must have really happened between him and Ariel in the room.

“Okay Don” they reply and they get prepared. Alaska and some of his men with Jefrey left the estate.

Now that Alaska had let her off and had given orders not to lock her up anymore, Ariel could still not take her mind off Alaska admitting to killing Jack. Though she thinks he might not be so bad, but the thought of him killing Jack could not but make her feel bitter against him. 

 Since Alaska and some of his men left the estate, Ariel thinks she might find out what Alaska did to Jack and how he killed him. She believes that if she has the evidence of Alaska killing Jack, it will ruin him and his so-called ambition of becoming the governor of Alaska. 

“Alaska, since you decide to ruin my life, I will make sure to ruin yours too” 

Alaska only comes to her room sometimes; it was obvious he has another room which will be his personal room.

“The evidence must in his personal room or study” she thinks.

 But she only knows of the big luxurious sitting room, dining and her room in the whole estate. She believes if she knows Alaska’s personal room or study, she will be able to find something against him. 

She decides to secretly search for Alaska’s study and personal room since he is not around and the security is a little slack. She looks around to make sure none of Alaska’s men were watching her. 

Since she doesn’t know more about the estate, she decides to see if Sissy the new maid know about the estate since she was employed by Alaska. 

“Ma’am, will you be needing anything?”

“Not at all” she forces a smile. 

“Is just that I feel a little bored. Do you know this place very well? I mean you can take me around” 

Sissy looks at her suspiciously but decides to do what she asks, though she don’t know much of the estate but she was shown some of it because of her work there. And she signed a confidentially agreement before she was hired by Alaska, so she knows she cannot jeopardize her work. 

Sissy showed her the places she knew, which are the kitchen, store, Ariel’s room and the men’s quarter. 

“Those are the only places I’m privilege to know” Sissy tells her. 

Ariel was disappointed, she thought Sissy will know places like Alaska’s study or his personal room. 

As Ariel and Sissy walks by, one of Alaska’s men Andrew greets her. 

“Ma’am” they believed that Ariel is now their Don’s wife, with the news even buzzling about the two and Alaska claiming to be responsible for Ariel’s pregnancy. 

Also, some of the men who had seen Alaska smiling after leaving Ariel’s room told others about it.

Ariel stops the moment she heard him greet her, realizing he called her ma’am, meaning she is his boss’s wife. Ariel quickly sees an opportunity to talk to him. 

“Oh!” she forces a smile. 

“Sissy, you can go back to work” she deliberately dismisses her.

“I was wondering...” she turns to Andre who had greeted her.

Ariel hesitates because she feels that she might look suspicious if she directly ask about Alaska’s study.

“What I’m saying is, I feel bored and I don’t much about this place. Can show me around?”

He looks at her and nods. He takes her around the estate showing her everything he believes he should show her. But Ariel was not interested in all that, she only wanted to know where Alaska’s personal room or study is. 

“What of your boss’s room?” she manages to ask. 

“The boss?” Andrew wonders why Ariel wants to know where Jefrey’s room is. Jefrey is the one known as the boss and not Alaska. 

“I mean him” 

“Him?” he still not understands what he was saying. 

“My husband...” she grinned her teeth to call Alaska her husband. 

“Don?” 

“Yes” 

“I don’t know, we are only allowed in these places” he tells her. 

Ariel is surprise, he thought he will know but he did not know either.

“So, he does not trust his men too” she sighs. 

“Alright” she dismisses him. Ariel looks at the big estate in the middle of nowhere, even though if she plans to escape the place there is really no way of escape. 

She decides to walks around to get herself familiar with the places, if she is opportune to find the evidence she wanted against Alaska about him killing Jack, she will also need a way of escape. As she was walking around, she heard some of Alaska’s men talking. 

“Is Don really going to make her his wife?” one of them ask the other. 

“So, what about her fiancé who sold her then?” the other replies. 

Ariel frowns.

“What did he meant by my fiancé sold me? Is he talking about Jack?”
