Chapter Five- Corey

Mia

I opened my eyes after hearing a noise from outside. I let out a yawn stretching lazily before getting up from the bed. I rubbed my eyes tiredly walking around the room aimlessly till I finally settled on the couch coming back to reality.

I noticed a paper on the couch; I took it and opened it to read:

“Change into those. Meet me in the room four doors away from yours heading right.

                                                                     -Corey

There were clothes resting on the hem of the couch; it was a maroon long sleeve top along with a black shorts. It seemed like ladies’ dress causing me to wonder how he got hold of it. I got into it; it was fitted on me shockingly.

I headed to his room wondering why he needed me. I opened the door stepping outside slamming it shut before heading to his room. I was staring at the paintings to master my way back, four doors away heading right.

I began to head right counting the number of doors but it was as though the doors were far away from each other.

“Hey!” a voice seethed from behind me. I didn’t think it was referring to me so I just continue walking not bulging at all.

“Are you deaf? You!” the voice called out louder this time. It sounded closer though. I turned back to come across a young guy with curled blonde hair with green-orbed eyes.

“Me?” I asked pointing to myself. He rolled his eyes giving a frustrating sigh.

“Obviously” he stated. He finally caught up with me standing in front of me. As expected, he was taller than me but not as tall as the mystery man. He frowned at the sight of me.

“Who are you? I don’t seem to have seen you anywhere in this pack before” he demanded.

Pack? Like the pack house Corey mentioned earlier?

“Umm… yes, I am new here” he arched his brow looking as confuse as ever. Was it a crime to be new?

“New? Were you recently brought in this pack by your mate or something?” he questioned. I instantly remembered what Corey had told me to say.

“It’s none of your business” I replied. He clenched his jaw staring straight at me. He looked pissed causing my heart to skip in fear. He leaned closer to me and grabbed my jaw roughly.

“You must be new here and that’s the only reason I’ll let this slide. I am the Beta of this Pack and you have to show some respect” I knitted my brows in absolute confusion releasing myself from his hold.

“What does he mean Beta of the pack and I need to show some respect? Is it like a title given unto the gang members?” I murmured under my breath. His eyes widened in total horror. Had he heard what I said? It was in a low tone.

“What’s your name?” he asked.

“Mia Rivers” I replied blankly. It seemed as though realization dawned on him as he muttered some curses under his breath.

“Shit” he cursed. “Look Mia, I’m sorry for the way I did to you. It was just my wolf in action and-” he cut himself off staring at me.

“Your wolf? You have a wolf as pet?” I asked staring at him. He seems to be dumbfounded as he just nodded his head curtly. Was he alright?

“Umm… Yes, I do. That’s the reason I was mad at you because you reminded me of my wolf” he stated bluntly. I stared at him in shock nodding my head slowly.

“Okay. I’m heading to-”

“Yes, I know. Just go” he stated walking out of me. He was kind of weird just like that mystery man. Why was here so awkward? I sighed in frustration.

Not only was I confused on the environment I was in, I had lost track of how many doors I’d passed. I just continued walking front until I saw a lady come out from a room. I gasped in horror tilting my face to the side.

It was that red-haired lady from earlier on; I prayed she doesn’t see me. I took a quick glance at her raising my brows at her. She was blushing furiously tracing her lips with her index finger. She let out a giggle turning around and ran off heading the other way.

Could that be his office she came out from? Blushing? I walked to the door she had emerged from opening it slowly and stepping inside.

“What is it again, Allison? Do you need-?” he cut himself in sight of staring at me. It was Corey. I looked at his eyes before staring at the ground. That was her name? Allison?

I felt upset that he had mistaken me for that mean lady.

“It’s you, Rainfall. Here sit. I would like to explain some certain things to you” he stated patting next to him gesturing for me to sit.

I walked over to him and sat next to him but not near him. I sat at the other end of the couch feeling uncomfortable with the way he was staring at me. He shifted near me leaning closer to me. I gulped at the proximity he gave off.

“Are you scared, Rainfall? Your heart is beating faster than usual” he asked tilting his to the side to glare at me. It was true. My heart was indeed beating faster due to the aura he gave off. I knitted my brows in confusion.

“How do you know the rate of my heartbeat, Alpha” I asked looking at him in uncertainly. He stared at me open-mouthed like he was searching for words to say.

“It’s quite simple to figure out one’s heartbeat. It’s a trick that I learnt years ago. Study one’s facial expression and you’ll be able to know, Rainfall” he retorted squatting down in front of me.

His ocean blue eyes staring at me with a straight face; causing me to look down at the floor. He was handsome but was also dangerous.

“Things run different here from where you’re used to, Rainfall” he stated. I nodded curtly.

“I know. All gangs have different way of carrying routines” I whispered. He arched a brow up staring at me before he parted his lips like he had realized something. He let out a chuckle staring at me in disbelief.

“No, Rainfall. This is not a gang and I’m not a gang leader.” He stated. I stared at him in suspicion knowing he was lying. Neither did I believe him nor his words.

“You were with guns and you were even killing innocent people at the auction. You were dressed in an indecent manner-” his eyes diluted pure black causing me to shut my mouth.

“The people at the auction were not innocent people, Rainfall and you know that. You could have been sold to a dirty old drunkard. This is not a gang nor am I gang leader. I am an Alpha of White Fangs Pack. This is a pack house” he stated with authority dripping from his voice.

My eyes widened at how commanding how looked. His eyes were purely black no traces of his once blue eyes. He got up staring down at me.

“There are things here you must take precaution of and the first one is the way you talk to me” he stated heading to his desk. I stared at him in disbelief at how short-tempered he is.

“Go to your room, Rainfall” he ordered. I swallowed at the aura he gave. I got off of the couch walking to the door. I opened it and was about stepping outside when he called me. I turned facing him.

“You’ll know when the time is right” he added.

I frowned at him not understanding him but I just nodded before getting out. I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding. What did he mean this time around? I stared at the chandeliers hung high in the ceiling.

This mansion looked like a puzzle waiting for me to solve. What did he mean he was an Alpha of ‘White Fangs Pack?’

If this wasn’t a gang or a cult group or sort? What is it then? I needed to do some research, it hasn’t even been a day yet and so much has happened. I started heading to my room counting doors and staring at pictures.

I felt arms pull me backwards and slammed me on the wall pining me to it. I gasped in shock completely unaware of what was happening.

I stared at the figure opening my mouth in terror.

It was the mean lady from earlier; she was raging as she stared at me.

This was bad…
