LOGIN~Areum~
I stood outside the Alpha’s chamber with my palms sweating so hard I felt like I’d dipped them in oil. The guards didn’t hide the way their eyes dragged over me like I was dirt stuck under their boots. One of them bumped my shoulder when he opened the door.
“Don’t keep him waiting,” he muttered.
Then looked at me and actually realized I was a Luna who deserves respect and he continued,
“Please Luna.”
I stepped inside.
The Alpha was sitting, legs crossed, arms resting lazily on the chair’s sides. His eyes lifted to me the moment I entered, slow and steady, like he was trying to read my thoughts before I even opened my mouth.
“Areum,” he said.
My heart jumped. “Yes, Alpha.”
He didn’t blink. “Do you want to carry out the marital rites?”
I opened my mouth too fast, then stopped. My throat tightened. I hated how scared I sounded before I even spoke.
“…It depends on what you want, Alpha.”
A small smirk tugged at his mouth, like I’d said something amusing without meaning to.
“That’s not what I asked you,” he said.
My chest tightened. I looked down. “Then… if you want it, I won’t refuse.”
“So if I don’t want it…?” he asked.
“I won’t force anything,” I whispered.
He leaned forward slightly. “Are you scared of me?”
I wanted to lie, but the truth sat on my tongue like a heavy stone.
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because everyone else is,” I muttered.
He let out a low hum, like he wasn’t expecting me to say that.
Then his eyes traveled over me slow, curious, it was not….not cruel. Somehow that made it worse. I felt exposed.
He tilted his head. “If you’re scared, why do you care so much about what I want?”
“I don’t want to anger you my lord.”
“So you care,” he said.
“I didn’t say that.”
“You didn’t need to.”
My chest heated. This felt too much like teasing, flirting things I didn’t understand. Not when it came from him.
His eyes softened slightly. “Relax.”
I stiffened even more.
That made him chuckle. “You really don’t know how, do you?”
Before I could say anything stupid, he waved me away.
“Go,” he said. “I need to bathe.”
I bowed quickly and rushed out, my breath shaky.
The maids were gathered near a window, fake smiles on their faces. When they saw me, they didn’t even pretend to be polite.
One of them, the consort queen’s favorite maid, stepped in front of me and straightened my collar roughly.
“So fragile,” she said, pushing me harder than necessary. “Most people think you won’t last here, my lady.”
Another laughed. “Poor little Lunar. Thinks being pretty is enough.” I wasn't expecting any much respect but wasn't this a little too much.
I didn’t answer. Anything I said would make it worse.
They passed, shoulder-checking me like I was invisible furniture.
I exhaled slowly and headed to the bathing chamber on my side of the corridor. My body felt too hot, my skin prickling as if something was burning under it. Maybe nerves. Maybe humiliation. Maybe everything.
I needed water.
I slipped inside my section of the bath, undressed quickly, and sank into the warm pool with a quiet sigh. The heat eased some of the shaking in my fingers.
I didn’t know the Alpha’s bath was separated from mine by a single stone wall with vents near the top where steam escaped. I didn’t know voices could slip through.
So, like a fool, I talked to myself.
Actually, whispered to myself, because I wasn’t used to speaking freely.
“Why is he like that…” I muttered, rubbing my neck. “He looks too good to be real. That’s the problem. That stupid face. And those eyes. And the way he talks like he knows everything….”
A low smirk cut through the air.
I froze.
“Continue,” a voice said. Amused. Very amused. “Don’t stop because of me.”
My blood turned to ice.
“…Alpha?”
“Yes,” he answered, tone far too entertained. “I’ve been hearing you.”
Mortification hit so hard I wanted to sink under the water and stay there permanently.
“I…I didn’t know….I'm so sorry ”
“Yes, I can tell.”
I groaned quietly and covered my face with both hands.
Then I heard water shift on the other side. I peeked up and saw a head appear over the divider.
I screamed.
The Alpha blinked. “Calm down. I’m not going to jump over the wall.”
I scrambled back, nearly slipping, grabbing the edge of the pool like someone was chasing me.
He frowned slightly. “Why are you so scared?”
Because I was hiding the truth.
Because one wrong angle, one wrong move, and he’d see I wasn’t what I claimed to be.
A girl wouldn’t need to hide her chest. A girl wouldn’t panic this hard.
I forced myself to breathe. “I wasn’t expecting you.”
He tilted his head. Water dripped down his hair, down his neck. He looked… relaxed. Too relaxed for a man who terrified the world.
“You look… different today,” he said, eyes scanning my shoulders. “More… masculine, for a princess.”
My heart nearly stopped.
“…I was trained hard,” I said quickly. “Physical drills. It was required.”
His brows lifted. “Impressive.”
I tried to hide deeper into the water.
He let out another low chuckle. “Areum.”
“Yes?”
“Do you want to practice archery tomorrow?”
That surprised me. “You want me to join you?”
“Do you not want to?” he asked.
“No…I mean yes…I mean I don’t mind.”
H
e laughed again. “Then tomorrow.”
He disappeared from sight, water splashing as he moved back into his side.
My heart didn’t calm down for a long time.

~Rowan~The knock came right when I had Areum cleaned up and tucked back against me, his body still soft and warm from the knot, breath steady on my neck like he was finally drifting off. I was halfway to sleep myself, that deep satisfied haze where everything felt right for once, when the sound hit again, sharper this time.My whole body locked up. Growl ripped out low, vibrating through my chest hard enough Areum jerked awake. He grabbed my arm tight. “Rowan?”“I think there's someone,” he said quickly, eyes wide but steady.I nodded once, forced the growl down, helped him pull on clothes fast.. my shirt on him because it smelled like me and fuck if that didn’t make the alpha in me calmer. I yanked on pants, didn’t bother with a shirt, arm locked around his waist as we headed to the door.Lina was out there looking like she’d seen a ghost, shifting foot to foot.“Alpha Rowan,” she whispered, voice shaking. “There’s a guy at the main gate. Says he’s from Luna Areum’s home pack. Says
~Areum~I woke up aching again, heat simmering low but building fast, that familiar empty pull deep in my gut that made me shift restlessly against the sheets. My skin felt too hot, dick half-hard already. I pressed my face into Rowan’s shoulder instead, breathing him in deep, trying to steady myself. He stirred, arm tightening around my waist on instinct, alpha rumble starting low in his chest before his eyes even opened. “Hey,” he murmured, voice rough with sleep, hand sliding up my back slow. “How bad is it?”I swallowed, throat dry. “Bad,” I admitted, quiet. “But not… screaming yet. Just… need you close.”He pulled back enough to look at me, eyes searching my face, thumb brushing my cheek. “Talk to me. What’s going through your head?”I laughed a little, shaky and real. “That I’m turning into a clingy mess and you’re gonna get sick of it.”He snorted, but his expression stayed serious. “Try again.”I bit my lip, looked away for a second. “That it feels too good. Like… if you knot
~Areum~Rowan tugged me through the door and kicked it shut behind us, mouth crashing into mine before I could even catch my breath from the hallway. His hands were everywhere, yanking my shirt up and over my head, fingers rough on my skin like he couldn’t wait another second.“Food later,” he growled against my lips, backing me toward the bed. “Changed my mind. You first.”I laughed, breathless, shoving at his chest even though I didn’t want him to stop. “Bossy.”“You love it.” He bit my bottom lip, sucked it into his mouth, then kissed me deeper, tongue pushing in like he owned me. Which, yeah, he kind of did now.My back hit the mattress and he followed, weight pressing me down, knees shoving my legs apart. I groaned when his hips ground against mine, already hard, dick rubbing right where I needed through our clothes.“Yooo, Rowan…. ”“Yeah?” He pulled back just enough to rip his own shirt off, tossing it somewhere. “Tell me what you want.”“You,” I said, grabbing his belt, fumbli
~Areum~Rowan sat next to me, arm brushing mine. “Yes.”Vorin’s eyes shifted to me. “Good. The pack needs stability. Heirs.”I froze, fork halfway to my mouth.Serin snorted. “Subtle, Vorin. Real subtle.”He ignored her. “You’re omega. Omega from an Alpha yes, but fertile. When can we expect the first litter?”I set the fork down hard. Heat crawled up my neck, different from last night’s kind. Anger, shame, panic all tangled.Rowan’s hand landed on my thigh under the table, squeezing. His voice came out low, dangerous. “That’s not your business.”“It’s the pack’s business,” Vorin shot back. “We’ve waited years for a proper Luna who can…..”“Careful,” Rowan growled.I laughed, short and bitter. “Proper Luna. Right. Because I’m such a great breeder, huh? Pop out pups like a good little omega, fix all your problems.”Vorin’s eyes narrowed. “Your tone….”“My tone’s fine,” I cut in, leaning forward. “You want heirs? Great. Maybe start by not treating me like a walking womb. I didn’t sign u
~Areum~I woke up sore in places I didn’t even know could get sore, neck throbbing like a heartbeat under the fresh bite mark. Rowan was already gone, probably off doing alpha bullshit before the sun was even fully up. I rolled over, groaned into the pillow that still smelled like him, and tried to ignore the way my stomach flipped when I thought about last night. The Bond humming warm, his emotions leaking through like background noise, mostly smug satisfaction with a side of worry he was trying to hide. The door opened quietly, and I yanked the sheet up to my chin on instinct.A small beta slipped in, arms full of clothes, dark hair tied back tight, eyes down. She couldn’t have been more than twenty, face plain and serious. “Luna,” she said soft, bowing a little. “I’m Elara. Alpha assigned me to you permanently.”I blinked. “Permanent?”She nodded, still not looking up. “Starting today. For dressing, meals, whatever you need.”Rowan and his overprotective crap. I sighed, sat up, ho
~Areum~Rowan’s mouth was still on mine when his teeth grazed the side of my neck, right over the gland that had been throbbing since the second I woke up in his bed. I shivered hard enough that he felt it, because his hands tightened on my hips like he thought I might bolt. I didn’t. I couldn’t. I was already half gone, heat rolling through me in waves that made my skin burn and my head fuzzy.“Still sure?” he asked against my throat, voice low and rough, like it hurt him to even ask.I laughed, short and shaky. “If you stop now I swear to every god I’ll knee you in the balls so hard you’ll taste them.”He huffed out something that might’ve been a laugh, might’ve been a growl, and then his teeth sank in.Pain hit first….sharp, bright, perfect. Then everything exploded. Heat, pleasure, and then him. The bond snapped into place like someone had yanked a rope tight around both our chests. I gasped, or maybe I screamed, I don’t even know, because suddenly I wasn’t just feeling my own mes
