Chapter thirty-one

It felt like I was having a hangover, when the screeching of Alex's car tires woke me up that afternoon. I was a light sleeper, even the slightest noise could wake me up.

I got up, groaning at the one sided headache I was beginning to have. What the hell? It wasn't like I consumed cans of beer, boxes of pizzas until I got drunk and barfed my guts out. Jesus H. Christ. What the hell!?

I slowly got out of bed, cursing whoever the hell that whined my windows glass up, and put the curtains out. Something that made the harsh angry sun, an uninvited visitor, make it's way into my room. It nearly sent me to my feet.

"Shit!" I hissed through gritted teeth, shielding my eyes away from the sun, and then accidentally staggered into empty cans of beer.
