Chapter Sixty-Eight – Fighting Knox

Danielle opened the door, and her mouth hung open to see Knox with a suitcase on her doorstep. “Are you going somewhere?” she asked in a dazed state, stepping away from the door. Maybe he was here to meet her before going away on a trip.

“Not somewhere. I intend to stay here from now on.” He walked inside with his luggage as if he owned the place.

“What do you mean? Why would you stay here when you have so many other places to go to?” She stood with her hands on her waist, glaring at him. Why couldn’t he leave her alone and go to his wife?

“I want to be with you, Ellie.” He took baby steps towards her, but Danielle scooted farther away from him.

“That can’t happen, Knox. I’ve put it all behind me.” Yet it didn’t deter him.

“But I want to rekindle what we had, Ellie.” Danielle panicked, wondering how to stop him. She wouldn’t let him trample on her again. If he thought she was available to him, then he was mistaken. She would now fight him, stop him from taking advantage of her.
