Chapter 3

Aurora Tate,bride to be had a mask on her face to hide her identity.She was aware of what she had just done.

She ran away from her own wedding.

Who wouldn't? All of a sudden the wealth and affluence of her family is gone.Her mother has been sick for two years now and her father basically spent all he has with nothing to show for it.

Just to pay back his increasing debt,Mr Tate had gone and made the biggest mistake in his life.

Of all the available suitors in the whole of Riverdale her father had to give her off to the stern and unscrupulous Mafia,Don Genovese.

Aurora had no idea if he was in support of it but she couldn't care less.Her heart belongs to someone else already and she didn't think she'd be able to love anyone the same again.

Even as she thought of it,she agreed that her boyfriend would be of help to her in this dire moment.

Besides, she wouldn't just sit here in the restaurant forever.

With this flaming and courageous spirit,Aurora Tate headed to her boyfriend's without thinking of the fact that she'd just angered the most dangerous Mafia in the whole of Riverdale.

Stepping out of the car,she prepared to cross the road when she noticed a slim lady walk out of his apartment.

Aurora stopped in her tracks, her heel boot standing firm on the coated road,her black overall outfit giving her a dangerous aura.

When the lady's face came into view,Aurora had to blame herself for her mistrust in her boyfriend.

The lady was none other than Amber Hill! Her best friend.

For years while in high school,both her and Amber were never good in maths.They were always sneaking out of the class.

Until Aurora met this nice dude whose house she would always go to for her maths problems.

Maths problems suddenly turned to life problems.

Life problems suddenly created a chemistry and they couldn't stop each other from tearing their clothes.

Since then,she had introduced Amber Hill and together they both went for their math assignment.

And now,she had instantly misunderstood and thought her boyfriend had already moved on in the space of a week.

Amber hailed a cab without suspecting the ridiculous dressing of the lady across.Soon her cab sped off.

Aurora crossed the road immediately and barged into the house like she always does.

Judging the ridiculous outfit and the method at which this lady barged into his house,Matteo could only jump to his feet.

Thinking it was a goon sent to kill him it was only natural for a frightened look to appear on his face.

"Who are you? What are you doing here? Babe, you've come to the wrong place"

Aurora sighed as she pulled off her mask.Her chest nut brown waist length hair falling in waves behind her.

"Holy mother of God..." his mouth opened "Aurora!"

"Aurora??" he called again to be sure.

He checked his watch

"Aren't..aren't you supposed to be..getting married?"

"Honey,I..I ran away" her hazel almond shaped eyes searched his in the deep silence that followed.

Suddenly,

"You what?!!" he said humorously

Aurora stepped up to him.

"Did you really think I'd get married to him?? I am in love with you,Matteo"

He shook off her hands.

"Aurora, we're speaking of the DEVIL." emphasized Matteo "He's not just a him!"

"And you stand here not feeling a slight remorse?? I mean you ran away from your wedding to Don Genovese."

He paused and added "Are you sure you understand the repercussions of your action?!"

Aurora didn't understand why he was reprimanding her this way.

Of course,she understood the repercussions but wouldn't one do anything for love?

She had overlooked the shame she would bring on her parents.Especially her sick mother and her father who was holding up tightly.

Seeing that she was hurt,he held her arms and made her sit.

"Forgive me if I'm sounding harsh but what you've just done can cost you your life,Aurora" he explained

"Can't you see that I stayed away from you immediately I heard that your father had given you to the Don?"

He sighed "Not that I don't love you but considering the one you're getting married to anyone is bound to be scared."

"I have a sister and a mother,Aurora.I can't afford to have the Mafia pointing his gun to my head asking of your whereabout" he said hastily

He shook his head.

"When we started dating I noticed that you are the crazy type of girl but..this courage to run away from your wedding?? Embarrassing the Mafia?? Where did you get from Aurora?"

She looked at him,tears filling her eyes.

"I love you,that's why!"

Matteo shook his head again.

"You don't seem to understand the situation at hand,Aurora" he paused and stared at her.

"I know that and I love you too but sometimes things don't just work out the way we planned them"

Aurora stared at him with a puzzled look on her face.

"If you truly love me like you claim,then why would you let me marry someone else?"

"I've said this before! He's not an ordinary person,Aurora." he ran his hands through his hair

"He can walk up here and place ten bullet in my skull and the cops won't dare to arrest him.That's the point."

"But you had sang in your song that you'd kill and fight anyone for me!" argued a distraught Aurora.

"Aurora" he called silently "If your father cannot fight the Don;who do you think I am to do that?"

Tears crept from her eyes.

"It's nothing to cry about.Honestly,Aurora there's nothing wrong in marrying the Don."

He sighed again

"Just don't show that crazy and stubborn side of yours."

"I might have put up with it but bear in mind any silly behavior and a bullet goes through your head."

He turned back to her.

"Just obey and maybe he'd spare your life"

Aurora wiped her tears and gazed at him.

"My life isn't the only one that's at stake here."

She decided to break the news to him.This wasn't the way she'd envisioned things.In fact she wanted this beautiful need to bring happiness.

However,considering the situation on ground she didnt think that would be possible anymore.

"What do you mean?"

"Well,since you said you wouldn't fight for me anymore.."

His eyes widened.

"..perhaps you'll fight for your child"
