Chapter 40 - Testing Tom

“What?” Joyce was both excited and surprised. She never thought it would happen so soon. Not after the argument she had with Avery on her wedding day.

Avery thought that Joyce didn’t believe her and exclaimed, “I know, I’m insane, but don’t laugh at me,” she said, stomping her slender legs like a teenager throwing tantrums. Joyce was even happier.

“Then that is good. You are supposed to love your husband so you shouldn’t feel that way.”

“You don’t understand, I made a promise to Trent.”

Joyce instantly frowned. So this was all because of Trent. If she had her way she’d slap Trent out of Avery.

“Forget Trent Avery, you should be ashamed. What do you think? That marriage is a joke? Snap out of it before it’s too late,” she advised sternly. She didn’t want to associate with an adulterous wife so the earlier she told Avery her stand, the better.
