Old pals knew each other better than anyone else. Did Anderson want to fight with him? Trent could think of the worst and the fact that he was no longer a match for Anderson made matters worse and he feared.

“Are you going to beat me because I had a chat with Avery?”

Trent stood up from his swivel chair and asked sinisterly. It would be good if Anderson got violent. Avery would know the kind of man she was married to because Trent would make sure to show her proof.

Fortunately, Anderson’s intentions were far from that. He wasn’t going to do anything that would put Trent in a despicable position.

“I have more important things to do than that so why waste it on whacking you? What is there to gain?” Anderson frowned and asked, not bothering to sit. His statement sent confusion to Trent’s mind.

He was crestfallen. It wasn’t just Avery but Anderson had also changed. This wasn't his usual style. “So why did you lock the door?” Trent asked curiously.
