Chapter 73 - Surprises

The chauffeur packed the car in front of the very familiar house that brought so many memories to Avery. By the time she stepped out of the car when Anderson opened the door for her, her mother flung herself over her.

“Avery, you have changed,” she exclaimed while examining her daughter admiringly. Before Avery could give a response, another familiar voice echoed,

“Avery, is that you?” Her father asked quizzically, while he approached Anderson and shook his hand.

“Thank you for taking good care of her,” he said in appreciation before looking at Avery again. He couldn’t believe that this was their little naïve daughter. She looked all grown up now.

“She’s my wife,” Anderson said proudly, while they made their way inside the house. Thus, there was no need to thank him for what belonged to him. Avery was in tears. She hadn’t missed her former house until now. However, she turned to her mum and said,

“Mum, thank you.”
