Chapter 8 Infuriate Him

"How dare you?" Mariana felt a cold chill run throughout her body, her fists clenching tightly in fury.

"Why wouldn't I dare? Do you know what secret my father told me when he was drunk? He said you aren't his daughter... You are just a bastard with an unknown father..." Tia's gaze fell upon the figure that was getting closer and closer. She was anxious and did not know how to make Mariana go crazy, so she told her the biggest secret she had ever learned.

"Shut up!" Mariana remained rational and calm in the first place, but when Tia said that she was a bastard and even wanted to burn her mother's things, she was utterly enraged.

"What? Are you not convinced? Do you want to slap me? What are you waiting for, Mariana? You just don't have the guts!"

Out of anger, Mariana fiercely slapped Tia in the face.

Tia gasped, wincing as she clutched her cheek. She acted as though she'd been severely injured, but her sneer returned almost instantly. "Is that all you can do, you wild thing? You're such a disgrace. You'll never live a dignified life."

"Tia..." Mariana ground her teeth in hatred. She sincerely wished that she had a blade in her hand so that she could slice this woman thousands of times with it.

Overwhelmed by blind fury, she raised her hand and wanted to slap Tia again, but her little hand was suddenly grabbed by a large, iron-like palm.

Mariana spun around, shocked and enraged, only to see a man's ice-cold, emotionless face.

"You..." When Mariana saw the man's handsome face, she was so shocked that she couldn't even speak.

Her silence was not because she was attracted by his exquisite and handsome face, but because this man resembled Jeremy.

Seeing Bernard walk over to stop Mariana from slapping her, Tia immediately squeezed out her tears in grievance and covered her face with both her hands. She spoke in a pitiful voice, "Mariana, how could you slap me so recklessly? What did I do wrong?"

Before Mariana could even react, she heard Tia's arrogant tone just now had instantly become soft, totally different from her arrogant tone minutes ago.

Mariana blinked as tears welled up from Tia's eyes, completely stunned by the transformation.

Mariana tried to pull herself together.

'Jeremy has his face... How come?' Mariana was in shock.

"Weird..." Mariana muttered.

Bernard curled his lips coldly, misinterpreting Mariana's shock as a kind of infatuation towards him. He sneered with extreme disgust.

"Why did you slap her?"

When Mariana heard his cold and tepid voice, her thoughts were immediately pulled back, and she realized that this man seemed to want to seek justice for Tia.

When she recalled that Tia just called her a bastard and wanted to burn her mother's things, the anger in her heart burned once again.

"None of your business! Let me go!" Mariana was furious, and she immediately wanted to struggle free from the man's grasp.

Tia suddenly put on a gentle face.

"Mr. McFarland, she is my sister, and she doesn't have any ill intentions. She just wants me to introduce a few famous managers to her, but I didn't agree, so she..."

Mariana was so angry that she wanted to laugh when she heard Tia's nonsense.

'What a good actress she is!' Mariana thought.

Just a moment ago, she was even like a tigress with an overbearing aura. And now, she had just become one of the kindest creatures in the world.

"She wants to become famous? With such an average look?" Bernard gave his harsh remarks. He had personally witnessed Mariana slapping Tia, so he naturally treated Mariana as a madwoman who wanted to seek fame.
