Soon, it was the end of the workday, but I was still buried in work.

After organizing the meeting minutes and fine-tuning the proposal until I was confident it was flawless, I brought both documents to Nick’s office.

“All done?” Nick looked up as I entered, his expression indifferent as he glanced at me.

I nodded, walked over to his desk, and handed him the meeting minutes and proposal.

He glanced briefly at the meeting minutes before speaking in a flat tone, “Aren’t you going to walk me through the details?”

“I’ve already written everything clearly.” I pointed to the minutes and began explaining each item. “The meeting’s purpose was to discuss the mass production of the ‘Roses Under the Moonlight’ jewelry series, and the following plans.”

He was doing this on purpose. I remembered clearly. A few days ago, when Rina brought him the Taylor Pack cooperation proposal, Nick didn’t even look at it and just told her to leave it on his desk.

So why was he making me explain every single sente

Nick’s face was dark with fury.An invisible pressure radiated from him, and his pupils had turned a deep amber. He stood up and stepped toward me, his voice low and accusatory. “So, this is why you like Dane?”…What??When did I ever say I liked Dane?!“Nick, we’re discussing work right now,” I said firmly, refusing to be dragged into another pointless argument. “If there’s nothing else, I’m heading out.”To avoid any further awkwardness, I decided to work through the night. The office gradually emptied. By nightfall, I was the only one left in the entire secretarial department.I was reviewing tomorrow’s audition schedule when my phone rang.It was William, the elder Alpha of the White Moon Pack.I picked it up immediately. “William.”“Wendy, how come I haven’t heard from you in so long? You are doing alright?” His hearty voice came through the line, warm and familiar.A pang of guilt hit me.“I’m fine, just swamped lately,” I replied with a smile.“Busy is good thing,” William laug

Standing at the door was a tall, blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl. Her skin was fair, and she wore a fiery red dress that hugged her curves—a picture of allure and charm.“Bonnie? What are you doing here?” Bruce looked surprised.“I missed you, so I flew over to see you,” Bonnie purred as she threw Bruce a flirty wink and pulled him into a passionate kiss.Bruce looked a little awkward. “We have company. Don’t mess around.”It was only then that Bonnie noticed me sitting nearby. She released Bruce and asked, “Who’s she?”“Let me introduce you,” Bruce raised a brow and said, “This is Bonnie, my girlfriend.”Then he gestured toward me and added, “This is Wendy Smith, our partner from the Brown Pack.”“Hello, Bonnie.” I smiled politely. “Bruce, since you’re busy, should we reschedule?”“No need.” Bruce sat down next to me. “I’ve always believed that work comes first. Let’s continue.”I nodded and pulled out a folder. “Here’s the shortlist for the ‘Roses in Moonlight’ ad campaign. Please tak

Nick strode over with a cold expression. “Wendy, come with me.”I had just arrived at the Brown Pack for overtime work and hadn’t even made it to the design department when I ran into Nick.A powerful pressure radiated from him—I could feel it clearly. Nick was in a terrible mood.I silently followed him into his office.“Why didn’t you answer my calls?” he demanded, towering over me.I glanced at my phone. “Sorry, it was out of battery.”“Where did you go?” His face darkened further.Clearly, he didn’t buy the “out of battery” excuse.“I had something to do,” I replied flatly.“Where?” Nick pressed.“To meet a friend.” I frowned slightly, wondering what had triggered him this time. Was the Moon Goddess’ gift of intelligence and strength to Alphas meant to be used for emotional tantrums like this?Nick stared straight into my eyes. “What friend? Male or female?”“Why do you care?” I pursed my lips, my tone firm. “If I’m not mistaken, today’s the weekend. Who I meet during my own time

Dane gallantly pulled out a chair for me and said softly, “I ordered your favorite mocha. Is that alright?”I sat down and took a small sip, lowering my eyes. “Thank you.”“It’s been months, and you’re still as stunning as ever.”I felt a little awkward and changed the subject. “Why are you come back suddenly? If I remember correctly, you signed a six-month endorsement deal in Hollywood.”“I canceled it.” Dane shrugged nonchalantly.“What?” I was shocked. “Going to Hollywood, becoming the world’s top rising sports star—that was your dream, wasn’t it? Why give it up so suddenly?”“What’s a dream compared to love?” A hint of melancholy shimmered in Dane’s eyes. “Wendy, I don’t believe you like Nick. You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you? Trying to push me away?”“Dane, can you not be so emotional?” I snapped a bit. “Whether I like Nick or not has nothing to do with you. And putting your personal goals aside, you should know what kind of consequences breaching a Hollywood contract cou

My heart was pounding wildly in my chest like a startled deer.“Nick!”A sudden voice shattered the intimate tension hanging in the air.Startled, I quickly pushed Nick away and sat up straight.A wave of regret hit me. Why didn’t I push him away sooner? Was I that easily swayed by his looks?I’m the Moon Goddess’s messenger, for heaven’s sake. I shouldn’t let a mate bond dictate my emotions!I looked up to see who the intruder was. Of course, it was Enna.I frowned instinctively. What was she plotting this time?Enna strutted in on her high heels, the sharp click-clack echoing off the floor. She shot me a glare, then turned to Nick with a soft voice, “Nick, I hope I’m not interrupting?”The warmth that had just flickered in Nick’s eyes vanished instantly, replaced by his usual cold demeanor. He cast her a sidelong glance.“What are you doing here?”“Nick, how’s your hand?” Enna said sweetly. “I brought you some ointment—it’s supposed to work wonders.” She reached into her handbag and

“Wendy?” Eddy exclaimed in shock. “Isn’t she the one your old Pack Alpha forced on you? I thought you didn’t even like her—why are you freaking out—”“Cut the crap and check her right now.”Nick shot him a cold glare and pointed to the bloodstains on Wendy’s dress. “She’s hurt.”“Injured?” Eddy glanced at the stain, then took her pulse. A second later, he chuckled. “Man, you’re so worked up. It’s not an injury—it’s her time of the month.”“What?” Nick’s expression was blank. “That kind of special time?”He glanced at the sky. It wasn’t even the full moon.Eddy grinned. “I mean her period, dude. The regular kind girls get every month.”Only then did Nick realize what Eddy meant. Right. That kind of ‘special.’“Then why did she faint?” Nick asked again, still not at ease.“She’s got low blood sugar,” Eddy said, glancing at the untouched food on the table. “Probably from irregular meals and exhaustion. She just needs rest.”Nick gave a small nod, and his expression was grim. A flash of r
