Author's Pov:

Tapping her legs, swirling the pen around her fingers, and biting her lower lip, she tried her best to hold back the anxiety clawing up her throat. Her hand trembled as she scribbled half-hearted notes while the professor droned on about theories she couldn't care less about.

How could she focus on class when she knew what was waiting for her outside?

Her mistake had already been made and now, she was going to pay.

"I'm an idiot," she muttered, keeping her head low, the graphite of her pencil leaving mindless patterns on the corner of her notebook.

She didn't mean to help her classmate. It wasn't her choice. The professor had asked-no, told-her to assist him. Refusing in front of the entire class would've drawn too much attention. She thought maybe-just maybe-he wouldn't find out.

But she underestimated him.

He always knew.

He always watched.

The sudden splatter of water against the classroom window startled her. She turned her head slowly, the gloomy clouds spilling rain in chaotic gusts, wind battering the trees like a tantrum. Monsoon had arrived last week, and normally, this season calmed her. She used to love the earthy scent, the gray skies, the way everything felt softer in the rain.

But now looking at the wind her heart clenched in fear and her toe curled as she continued to control her trembling legs from shaking.

Every single year, she waited for this season to come as it gives her rejuvenation from everything, and now it makes her body trembling down in fear. She knew nothing would stop her from getting punished, that thought alone makes her stomach churn in horror.

Taking a deep breath she looked ahead only to face the window again, indeed it gives relief from the scorching sun and hot and dry climate but what about her mental health?

Or the physical pain?

The season did nothing for her nerves.

Now, it only mirrored the storm inside her.

Her legs wouldn't stop shaking.

Because she knew he wouldn't let her mistake go unpunished.

He never did.

A flash of pain struck her memory-his grip on her arm, the bruises he never let fade, the constant reminders that she belonged to him. Always.

The bell rang, slicing through her spiraling thoughts like a knife. Students stood up around her, buzzing with weekend plans and idle chatter, but she didn't move.

A scowl appeared on her face as her eyes flicked to the clock. She thought maybe time would show her mercy. It didn't. Only ten minutes had passed. She had packed her bag slowly.

She stepped out into the corridor, her breath shallow as she descended the stairs. Her mind raced through excuses, desperate lies, some way to explain. But none would matter. He didn't care about logic. He only cared about control.

Her phone pinged.

She froze.

Was it him?

That was her first thought. Maybe she shouldn't have provoked him by taking her sweet time to reach the place.... his place.

Her trembling hand reached into her bag. It was him. It had to be him.

"Are you making me wait, doll?"

Her heart dropped.

She gulped as her fingers clenched the phone. Her stomach twisted in panic. He was already here.

And she was late.

Her heart suggested her to run away, but her mind suggested otherwise.

After all she knew the consequences of running away.

Another ping.

"Still thinking of running away from me, doll?"

Her vision blurred for a moment, adrenaline flushing through her. Without thinking, she sprinted through the halls toward the parking lot. Her heart pounded louder than the footsteps beneath her.

The rain had stopped, but the skies remained bruised and heavy, like her spirit.

She looked around frantically, and then-

A horn blared.

She jumped, spinning to her left. There he was.

Lewis.

Her boyfriend, who terrifies her to the core.

Leaning against his red Range Rover like he owned the world. Arms crossed. Wearing that smug smirk that chilled her blood. Every inch of him screamed dominance, control, obsession.

He beckoned her forward with one finger.

She hesitated.

Her body, already soaked in sweat and fear, moved on instinct, the chilling climate did nothing injustice. She gripped her bag tighter, wiping her forehead with both arms as if she could hide the shaking.

Looking at her trembling form one could assume her submissive position from afar.

His scrutinizing eyes are not helping her either, made her stumble in her steps as she walked towards him. As she stepped closer, her dark brown eyes met with his hazel eyes making her shift uncomfortably.

The intensity in his eyes stripped her bare. He didn't need words to terrify her-just a glance.

He raised his hand closer to her face making her flinched back. Tilting his head back he chuckled, shaking his head in amusement he took a strand of her hair curling them on his finger.

"You're shivering, doll," he said, voice soft but laced with menace.

She looked down quickly, flinching when his fingers brushed her jaw. He curled a strand of her hair around his finger, tugging gently as if claiming it.

Her lips parted to explain. To beg. Anything.

Before she could reply a gasp left her mouth, his strong hand wrapped around her waist pulling her closer to him, she put her hands in between them not to let her bust brush against his chest.

That didn't go unnoticed by him.

He smirked looking at her attempts to deny his touches.

"Am I sensing a denial here, Kathy?" His voice sterned yet calmly. His anger is so noticeable and so unlike himself that he controlled it, which surprised her.

All these months with him she knew one thing he can't control his anger and always took it out on her unlike today he's calm which is terrifying her.

"I-I didn't mean-" she stammered.

But Lewis wasn't interested in her excuses.

His hand clamped over her mouth, fingers gripping her jaw tightly. Turning them around he backed her against his car, pinning her there with his body.

Her eyes widened, locking with his. In his gaze, she saw rage. Lust. And something closer to desire-something she couldn't name.

Before she could flinch again, his lips crashed onto hers, devouring her like a man starved. She whimpered, her hands pushing at his chest, but he didn't budge. His tongue forced its way into her mouth, rough and unrelenting. She felt his hand move to her waist, gripping hard enough to bruise.

A tear slipped from her eye as he bit down on her lower lip, drawing blood. He tasted it, then sucked it like a prize.

Her fingers curled into his shirt, desperate for space, for breath-anything. The hand that was on her head gripped her jaw tightly as he didn't let her move when she tried to move her head, a groaned escaped his mouth when his tongue explored her all the while she struggled against him to push him away. He finally pulled away when her taps on his shoulder became frantic.

She gasped, coughing slightly, and he just smiled.

"I can't wait to punish you," he whispered.

She froze.

Without warning, he lifted her into his arms. Her legs instinctively wrapped around his torso as he carried her like a possession.

"My cock is dying to be inside you, doll," he added, licking her bloodied lip with slow, deliberate cruelty. Her chin quivered. Her body trembled.

He sucked harshly on her neck, leaving behind dark, cruel reminders.

His marks. His claim.

But was she ever his to claim?
