CAMILLA SINCLAIR

“Fuck! Just like that, Dash! Oohhh!”

I cannot believe my eyes.

“You like that, huh?”

No.

This is not happening. This shouldn’t be happening.

“Harder, baby!” the woman breathed, sweat covering their entire bodies as the obnoxious sound of skin against skin echoed through what looked like a luxurious hotel room. One I knew so well because I’ve been there. For every time he tried to make a move on me, and I turned him down. Every single time.

He had the raven-haired woman drop on her arms and knees. Her back curved into a perfect arch. Thighs wide open like a bitch in heat.

And Dash took it. Licking his lips, he hovered behind her swiftly and within a second, he was thrusting in and out of the raven-haired woman’s cunt. He throws his head back, eyes rolling to the back of his head as he picked up his pace, groaning and grunting like the crazed animal he is.

Dash Blackwell. My mate, and naturally the love of my life, is f*cking another she-wolf mercilessly before my eyes.

My skin crawled in disgust and my stomach churned as if I was about to lose my lunch.

Dropping the phone that is still playing the recorded video, I slumped on my bed, eyes fixated on my work shoes. I close my eyes as the obnoxious sounds from the video clip continues to play in the background.

Each grunt coming from his mouth makes me want to run to the bathroom and dispose of the bile rising in my throat.

“How did you get this?” was all I could muster to say.

Angela looked at me with pity and scooped up the phone before pressing the exit button. Immediately, the disgusting sounds stopped and somehow I was able to breathe.

“I have my ways,” Angela murmured, arching her lips slightly to a half-smile.

Angela is my sister. Well, my step-sister. The day my mother died, my father had her and her mom move in the pack house where we live. I was thirteen then. And yes, your guess was right. My father, Alpha Charles Sinclair, is the alpha of our pack. The Shadow Creek Pack.

That time, I was enraged. I couldn’t believe my father was actually hiding an entire family behind our backs, which made me confront him in front of everyone in the pack. I yelled at him, exhibited my usual childish tantrums like the spoiled brat I was.

I spat at him what sort of a selfish, cheating, scumbag father and husband not worthy of respect he was to me and my mom, who literally just died on the same day. And it was then for the first time, he hit me. Threw a solid rock-hard punch right across my face, making everyone’s jaw drop. He’d grabbed me by the hair and locked me in my room for a couple of weeks, forbidding anyone from letting me out even just to see my mom and say goodbye to her for the last time.

Those weeks filled with insufferable pain, trauma, and fear sure hauled the spoiled brat straight out of my personality. And on the second moon, the door to my room slowly opened, not expecting Angela to be the one standing behind it.

Her innocent face along with my dad’s disapproving one. He made it clear that if it weren’t for Angela begging him every day to let me out, he would’ve let me starve for disrespecting and humiliating him in public.

While it was true that I had never raised my voice at him until that day, I was young. Lonely. Confused. In need of a father’s healing touch and comfort. The fact that my mother and the Luna died a mysterious death, and my father bringing home two more strangers as a result of his affairs the very same day must have triggered something within me. My mother was perfectly fine before, and rumors has it that she was murdered by the alpha himself. Which I refused to believe.

But ever since, what was once a loving father and daughter relationship, turned into one formed between an alpha and a slave.

Angela, my step-sister, had been the only one who persisted on showing me a true sibling relationship.

“He’s an asshole. I can’t believe the moon goddess picked him as your mate,” Angela scoffed, glaring at her phone murderously. If looks could kill, I’m pretty sure Dash would be dead right now.

I bit my lip. Hard. And the tears in the corners of my eyes, the tears I’ve been holding back all this while, started to fall.

Liar.

Gritting my teeth, I dropped my body to the floor, buried my head between my knees as I listened to my wolf howl in excruciating pain.

‘He betrayed us,’ Dana, my wolf, seethed in my mind.

I just sobbed, sat helpless on the floor as I drowned myself in the sea of melancholy that is my fate. It always has been.

How stupid could I have been?

I was stupid to believe that I would find happiness, to believe that someone would love me for who I am. I was stupid to believe that I, Camilla Sinclair, could finally change my fate by marrying the man who claimed to love me, determined to haul me out of this shithole of a pack.

I wish I had realized it then, but now I know that dream will always be.

“Oh, Cami… If only I knew…” Angela cooed softly beside me. I could feel her scooch closer against me and I let her. She swung her arm around my neck, urging me to rest my head on her shoulder, so I did.

My sobs then grew louder, turning into loud whimpers as I felt her arms around me.

“He’s never been worthy of you, Cammy, and you know that,” Angela whispered.

I clenched my eyes, listening to Angela’s heartbeat with my ear pressed closely against her chest.

“Five years. We’ve been together for five years, Anj. And now this?” I whimpered.

“Sssshhhh… It’s gonna be alright, Cami. I promise,” she whispered, her voice shaking.

Strange. Why is her heart beating violently fast right now?

Nonetheless, I nodded and huddled closer against her, enjoying the warmth of her body encasing mine. I ignore my wolf howling inside me and my heart shattering apart into a tiny million pieces.

We laid like that for I don’t know how long, but I knew it was probably hours since I sensed a dominating, fearsome presence enter my room without much of a knock.

Only one person fit the description in my mind.

“What is the meaning of this?” A voice, deep and menacing, reverberated in my ears and I snap my eyes open. My body jerking up straight.

Standing before us was none other than my father and the alpha of this pack. His domineering aura is suffocating, as his eyes sliced through mine and I froze the minute he settled his gaze on the phone left hanging on my bed.

“A-Alpha,” I stuttered, slowly rising from the floor when I noticed Angela was no longer there.

His eyes snapped to mine, my body blocking his sight from the only thing that would reveal my secret. I laugh to myself. Not like it’s a secret worth keeping after all. The curiosity in his green orbs shifted into a rage I’ve grown too familiar with.

And before I could react, he darted towards me in full alpha speed and with a loud crack, I felt my back crack loudly against the wall.
