MATE'S DEFENCE

Mason pov

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Damien's hesitation. "She isn't from our pack. That alone raises more suspicion," he repeated, his voice laced with unease. I snickered loudly, the sound echoing through the room as I poured the vodka into my cup.

"Yeah, no kidding," I said, carrying my drink over to the couch. I slammed into it, feeling the soft cushions envelop me, and crossed my leg over the table, my eyes never leaving Damien's face.

"Come on, spill the beans. What did you find out?"

Damien's eyes flicked to the paper in his hand, and then he walked over to me, his movements fluid and deliberate.

"Here," he said, handing me the paper. I took it from him, my fingers brushing against his, and unfolded it, my eyes scanning the contents. As I read, my expression grew more serious, my brow furrowing in concern.

The paper detailed the mark found on Rachel's neck, a crude drawing accompanying the description. I sipped my drink, my eyes locked on the mark, and

Isabella — POVI found the corner of the ruined chapel and sat hard. Not out of weakness. But because if I didn’t sit, I’d shatter something. My hands were coated in blood — some of it mine, most of it not. My armor hung crooked on one shoulder, dented and blackened. The wind was too quiet, like the earth was scared to breathe. And my heart? It was a drum against the cage of my ribs. But I wasn’t alone.Mason was there before I spoke his name. Before I even thought it. He crouched in front of me like he was afraid to touch me — not because I was fragile, but because I wasn’t.“You’re bleeding,” he said.I shrugged.“Isabella.”His voice was a low command, wrapped in velvet, wrapped in warning.I looked down at the gash across my side. “It’s shallow.”He didn’t answer. He just reached forward and pulled my tunic up enough to see it.Then he growled.A real, chest-deep, bone-echoing growl that made the world tilt. His fingers ghosted across the skin beside the cut like even touching it

Corrin — POVThe path to Duskmere wasn’t paved in stone. It was carved in memory—an old road the mapmakers had tried to forget, half-consumed by forest and shadow, too brittle to be real, too stubborn to vanish. We followed it anyway.Every step forward felt like walking deeper into a past none of us had chosen.Duskmere had once been a mining town. Iron-rich. Brutal. Built on the backs of workers who broke long before the rocks did. Then it went silent. Some said the earth gave up its last breath. Others whispered something older had crawled up from underneath and claimed the bones.I believed both. And as the trees thinned and the first collapsed rooftops came into view, I felt it.A stillness. Not peace.Something else.A warning.“We shouldn’t be here,” one of the younger scouts muttered behind me.Isabella didn’t turn around. “We’re not here to feel safe. We’re here to end this.”The wind hissed through the remnants of Duskmere like the ghosts were holding their breath.---Asher

  • Stepbrother’s Obsession: Claimed By The Triplet Alphas   Chapter 117

Asher POVWe marched before the sun could clear the ash.No ceremony. No trumpet.Just steel, resolve, and the ghost-silence of a Queen whose rage no longer needed to scream. The survivors we rescued from Greylight rode in covered carts at the rear—tended by medics and guarded like royalty. Isabella gave a single command as we left:“No more names on lists.”And by the gods, we would make that true. The trail led southeast. Into old territory—lands once claimed by rebels, now technically “free.” But we knew better. Freedom didn’t look like this. It didn’t smell like smoke and blood. And it didn’t send cryptic threats sealed in the skin of your friends.---Corrin — POVWe reached the ridge by dusk.A line of ravines where the land split like cracked bone. This was where the old scouts used to vanish—back in the early days of rebellion, when every shadow held a knife and every whisper had teeth. Now, it was too quiet.I scanned the cliffs, the narrow bridges, the trees that leaned too

Asher POVThe body was still twitching when they dragged it out.Blood soaked into the cracks of the war room floor, a spreading halo beneath the dying embers of the hearth. No one spoke. No one moved. The silence wasn’t respect—it was fear. The kind that claws down your spine and makes your pulse slow, like you’re trying not to attract attention from something bigger than you.And Isabella stood in the middle of it all like a storm in human skin.Unapologetic.Unshaken.Unforgiving.She turned toward me after the door shut behind the corpse.“You saw the name,” she said.I nodded. “Thorne.”One of the ten. One of the trusted. The same man who spotted the watchtower through the trees earlier tonight. The one who motioned for us to duck and stay hidden. The one who led us there.Fucking hell.“He didn’t flinch,” I muttered. “Didn’t even blink when he handed us that trail.”Isabella’s jaw clenched, but her voice didn’t rise. “That’s how they survive. They convince themselves they’re unt
