Rory's POV

The silence in the room was choking . Damien’s eyes had changed, it was no longer the cold, detached pools of indifference I had grown accustomed to, but sharp daggers cutting straight into me. His stare was dangerous. My own words echoed back at me like a curse.

God, what had possessed me to say that? My heart plummeted as I realized the weight of those words. They had come from desperation, from the unbearable ache thrumming inside my veins, from the fire building in my blood that refused to quiet. But still, I had said it. And now, looking into Damien’s glacial eyes, I wished I could take the words back and swallow them whole.

“What did you just say, Aurora?” His voice was dangerously calm, too calm. It was the kind of calm.

I swallowed hard, my throat painfully dry. My pulse skittered against my ribcage, trapped “I—I didn’t mean it like that.”

“Repeat it,” he demanded, taking a

Her voice is annoyed. The guard hesitates for a second, then his footsteps fade away down the corridor.I stand frozen, my fists clenched tight at my sides. My chest heaves like I’ve run a mile but before I can even catch my breath, it hits me.That image. That vision. Again.I grip my head with both hands as the pain slices through me. I shut my eyes tight, but it doesn’t stop. It never does. Damien. Always Damien. He’s lying there on a hospital bed, pale, lifeless, like his soul is already slipping away. The sight makes my stomach churn and my throat tighten.“Fuck!” I curse, the word tearing out of me.Celeste jumps back, startled, but I don’t even look at her. My whole body is shaking from the force of what I just saw. It’s too clear, too real.I turn to her slowly, my brea

Rory's POV The door opened behind me, and I turned sharply. It was the same cab driver that had dropped me off. He walked in calmly, as if he had every right to be there.“I can take you to where you desperately wish to be if you find it uncomfortable here,” he said.I stared at him from head to toe, confused. “And who are you?”“I’m his personal driver,” he answered. “I mean Alpha Jaxon’s driver whenever he uses cars and not bikes.”I blinked. “I thought you were just a cab man. He called you a cab man.”He smiled faintly. “Yeah, that’s because he wanted me to drop you off and leave but I can’t.”I raised an eyebrow. “Why?”“Alpha Jaxon is in danger,” he blurted out.My stomach dropped. “Huh? What are you talking about?”“Even more so Alpha Damien,” he went on quickly, urgency clear in his voice. “Alpha Damien was shot with an aconite bullet by hunters. There’s no antidote for it. The only cure is within the Wendigos.”My eyes widened. “Wendigos?” I repeated. “What’s that?”“They’re

His eyes are bloodshot, blazing with fury that makes the air around him tremble. Every muscle in his body radiates tension, ready to strike. He doesn’t speak at first—he doesn’t need to. His mere presence fills the space with danger and protection all at once.“How dare you, Dante?” His voice rips through the air, a raw, guttural sound of pure rage. Before I can even think, he’s moving. Faster than I can register, Jaxon lunges forward and grabs Dante by the collar and hurls him across the wall. The crash against the wall makes me flinch violently; I press my back against the far side of the room, my hands gripping whatever scraps of fabric I can find. My pulse races, blood hammering in my ears

  • Stepbrothers Are Alpha Bikers And My Mates   Slightest Hint

Athena's POV “So what do you fear?” I whisper, because I need to hear it. Because I’ve tasted fear all my life and it sweetens my mouth. "The fact you murdered your two friends or the fact you're playing Blackfang with your brother whom he doesn't know his identity."As soon as the words leaves my mouth, Celeste rushes towards the door, her hand hovering over the doorbell.“Press that,” I say, my tone cold and sharp, “and I swear I’ll find a way out of here and tell Blackfang everything. I’ll tell him Dante isn’t even his ally. He’s your brother. I’ll tell him you’re planning to stab him in the back and steal this pack with Dante.”Her fingers twitch. She lowers her hand slowly.I smirk. “Go ahead, ring it. Or should I help you? Don’t you want the guards to come? No? Thought so.”Her lips tighten. “What exactly are you doing here, Athena?”Finally, some words. I take a step forward, close enough to touch her but then she pulled back deliberately as if my touch would burn her“What’s

It’s the first thing that slips out of my mouth and, honestly, it’s my favorite line right nowCeleste’s fingers tighten around her palms.I walk slowly towards her and I circle her and then look her up and down—perfect hair, too-fancy clothes with the kind of posture that says you practice being cruel in a mirror. She’s been bathing in other people’s sweat and blood for years and calls it success. I almost applaud.“You’re enjoying the luxury,” I tell her. My voice is soft and taunting. “You lick your plates clean of other people’s misery. You never felt a thing for any of them. Lost your conscience a long time ago, didn’t you?”Celeste’s jaw works. No words. It’s weird seeing her flustered. I make a little show of it and tilt my head and raise a brow—because humiliation suits her now.“You looked peaceful earlier,” I say, not hiding the sarcasm. “So relaxed. Li
