Chapter 2

Author: Brown Sugar Pop
That night, the campus forum exploded with activity.

Cecilia's 'Lucky Livestream,' which she had been hyping up for a full week, finally went live.

The chat section was packed. Comments flew by so fast they blurred together.

She had started doing those streams on campus, and only later did her fame spread beyond it.

I curled up on the top bunk with my headphones on, quietly watching the stream, too.

Since Cecilia could no longer siphon my luck, the wishes she granted for others were bound to turn…low quality.

There was no way I was missing a show like that.

On screen, Cecilia wore a pure white dress. Her makeup was soft and flawless, her long hair falling smoothly over her shoulders. She smiled at the camera, sweet and innocent.

"Hey guys, I'm Cecilia. Welcome to my livestream.

"The rules are simple. First-come, first-served. Just send a one-dollar tip. If you're fast enough, you might win.

"Get ready, everyone. Three, two, one!"

The second she finished counting down, the screen exploded.

Donation animations flooded in. Notifications stacked on top of each other. Countless one-dollar tips poured in like a storm. The first three usernames to send theirs were quickly captured and pinned in the chat.

Cecilia smiled brightly as she read the first name.

"Congratulations to Tyson Steele for becoming our first lucky winner tonight. Tyson, tell us your wish."

She initiated a voice call.

The person who connected was Tyson.

One of the most notorious bullies on campus.

He had some money at home and acted like he owned the place. No one dared mess with him.

"So you're the so-called goddess of luck?" Tyson's voice dripped with arrogance.

"I don't want anything fancy. Just get me 30,000 dollars by tomorrow. Let me see if you're actually capable."

The chat instantly filled with mockery.

[Is he insane? 30,000 dollars? Why not rob a bank while he's at it?]

[If she can pull that off, I'll wash my hair upside down.]

Cecilia only smiled faintly.

"Got it. Tyson's wish has been received. Sincerity brings miracles. Please wait for the good news."

The second winner was Jane, the most popular girl in the literature department.

In a soft, almost shy voice, she said, "I wish Liam Chapman would confess to me. I've liked him for a long time."

Liam was the son of a school board member; he was rich, famous, and never short on female attention.

To everyone else, her wish sounded just as impossible.

Cecilia nodded again. "Your feelings will reach him."

The third winner was an ordinary guy named Julian Rogers. His wish was simple.

"I…I hope I can win this year's national scholarship. I really need the money."

Cecilia agreed to all three.

Then, with the chat still full of people waiting to see her fail, she smiled and ended the stream.

She took off her headphones, unable to hide the smug look on her face.

"Nevaeh, what do you think? Pretty impressive, right?" she said, turning to me like she was showing off.

I forced a small smile. "Yeah. Impressive."

Impressive enough to build it all on someone else's life.

The next day, the campus forum blew up.

The post came from Tyson.

The title was in bold red letters.

[Holy crap! The Goddess of Luck is insane! I got 30,000 dollars! Real cash!]

In the post, Tyson described his 'miracle' in wild, excited detail.

That morning, he had taken a shortcut to class. In a quiet, empty alley, he had literally kicked into a black leather bag.

When he opened it, there were 20 stacks of brand-new hundred-dollar bills inside.

Not a dollar more. Not a dollar less.

It was exactly 30,000.

He even attached a selfie of himself holding the cash. The excitement and pride on his face practically burst out of the screen.

The forum went crazy.

[No way! Is this real? This is straight-up fantasy!]

[I just passed by that alley. I saw Tyson running with the money like a maniac!]

[Oh, my god. The Goddess of Luck actually works!!]

Tyson's post was like a massive rock thrown into a calm lake, sending waves everywhere.

Before anyone could recover from the shock, that afternoon, a second miracle arrived.

Right after that, James's phone suddenly started ringing like crazy. His hands shook as he answered. A frantic voice came through."Mr. Scott! This is bad! Our last warehouse is on fire! All the equipment and documents… Everything is gone!"James's eyes went completely red. That warehouse had been his last asset. His only chance to start over. Then, it was gone, too."It's you! You jinx!" His voice cracked as he charged forward again like a mad beast."You did this to me! I'll kill you!"The entire venue descended even deeper into panic.Screaming. Crying. Shouting. All of it blending into a chaotic, apocalyptic roar.Cecilia's ending…was a hundred times worse than mine in my previous life. Both her legs were shattered. She would be disabled for the rest of her life. Her family was destroyed. Their company went bankrupt. Cecilia's whole body started trembling violently. She pointed at me, her lips shaking, but not a single word came out.The color drained from her face, leaving it as pale as a corpse. Then, suddenly, a furious roar exploded from the side of the audience."It's her! It's that vicious woman!"Everyone turned toward the voice.Tyson pushed his way through the crowd, leaning on crutches, limping forward. The cast on his leg stood out painfully. His face was twisted with rage, his eyes burning with hatred. He lifted one crutch and pointed it straight at Cecilia, who had collapsed on stage, and shouted with everything he had."She's a liar! A monster! She let me find 30,000 dollars, then had people break my legs! She even stuck me with 75,000 dollars in debt! Cecilia, give me my legs back!"His accusation hit the crowd like a spark in oil.The whole place ignited."Oh, my god! So, that's how Tyson's legs got broken?""I knew something wasn't right!"Before the shock could settle

"Is she insane? Securing 1.5 million dollars? Does she think money just falls from the sky?""This is hype. Total hype. Let's see how she cleans this up.""I mean, it sounds ridiculous… But what if…what if it actually works again?"Doubt and anticipation tangled together. All eyes turned toward one event: the graduation gala. The night finally arrived. The auditorium was packed; not a single empty seat. The air buzzed with excitement and restless energy.Countless phones and cameras pointed straight at the center of the stage.Cecilia stood there, glowing under the lights. She wore an expensive custom gown, her makeup flawless, her smile perfectly in place.Only I knew what was hiding beneath that elegance: a heart shaking with fear.James was invited up onto the stage. He wore a faded T-shirt, his expression a mix of nerves and hope, like he was about to witness a miracle.Cecilia's voice echoed through the auditorium, saying, "Good evening, everyone. Students, teachers.

At the same time, Cecilia sat at home, anxiously waiting for the bidding results.Suddenly, her heart started pounding violently. Then, the room began to spin. She grabbed onto the sofa, barely managing to stay on her feet. Clutching her chest, her face turned pale as a wave of overwhelming fear swallowed her whole. Her phone rang sharply on the table. It was the project manager.Cecilia's father picked up immediately, his face already stretched into a flattering smile."Mr. Walker, hello! Hello! Are the bidding results out yet?"From the other end came an icy, impatient voice."Mr. Johnson, what is wrong with your company? How could you make such a basic mistake on something this important?"The smile froze on her father's face. "Mr. Walker, what…what do you mean?""What do I mean?" The man's voice turned sharp. "Your bid has the decimal point in the wrong place. This was supposed to be a 15 million project, and you submitted 1.5 million. Do you think we wouldn't notice?"

I was reading when she burst in. I looked up, putting on an innocent expression."What are you talking about? I don't understand a word you're saying."Cecilia, are you under too much stress? Just because people have bad luck doesn't mean you can blame me."Didn't you say it yourself? My horoscope's in retrograde this year, so I'm just unlucky."I threw her own words right back at her.Her face shifted between pale and flushed. She was trembling with anger, but she could not say a single thing to argue.Of course, she could not. What was she supposed to say?Admit that she had been stealing my luck all along? She forced an awkward smile. "Sorry, Nevaeh. I…I've just been really stressed lately. I acted without thinking…"Before she could finish, her eyes widened, and she started coughing violently."It's okay, Cecilia. Are you not feeling well? You should get some rest," I said gently, patting her on the back. That night, I pretended to be asleep.Cecilia crept over to my be

[Thank you, Goddess of Luck! I got it! I really got the national scholarship!]Julian posted it himself. He had said his grades only ranked somewhere in the middle of the candidate list. He had no real chance at all. However, when the school put up the official list of scholarship winners on the bulletin board…His name was right there. It was clear as day.Julian made another post, pouring his heart out in gratitude. His tears almost seemed to reach through the screen. If Tyson's 30,000 dollars could still be brushed off as a coincidence, then Julian's scholarship wiped out every last doubt. That night, the final bomb dropped. It exploded right outside the girls' dorm.Liam, the rich upperclassman, showed up holding a huge bouquet of bright red roses.
