The roar of the helicopter blades echoed loudly in Fiora's ears.

She sat quietly in her seat, gazing out the window with an unreadable expression.

Far below, the vast blue ocean stretched endlessly, shimmering beneath the golden sunlight.

The helicopter swayed gently in the wind, yet Fiora remained still.

Or at least... she tried to appear calm.

Today was the day of her assignment.

The day she would be sent to a remote island where a man lived~~a man chosen to become the biological father of her child.

Her heartbeat quickened.

Before she realized it, her thoughts drifted back to the shelter she had called home for the past several years.

**A Few Hours Earlier...

"Are you ready to leave, Fiora?"

The young woman with dark crimson hair lifted her head and smiled at Rea, the friend who had just spoken.

"Yes. Today's my assignment to that island," Fiora replied before pulling Rea into a warm embrace.

The two had shared the same room for months, so it was only natural that Rea looked heartbroken at the thought of saying goodbye.

"Hurry up and let that man get you pregnant, then come back as soon as you can," Rea said with a half-pout, her eyes already glistening with tears.

Fiora chuckled softly and flicked Rea's nose.

"Hm? But by then, you probably won't be here anymore. Aren't you getting assigned soon too?"

The words instantly darkened Rea's expression.

She had already been informed that she would soon be sent away as well--to meet the man selected to father her child.

As healthy young women, neither Fiora nor Rea had the right to refuse their destiny as Seed Carriers.

Everything they did was for one purpose: The survival of humanity.

It had all begun thirty years ago, when a mysterious and deadly virus known as EVE-13 swept across the world, killing billions of people.

Women and children suffered the highest death toll, leaving only a handful of survivors.

For reasons no one fully understood, only women between the ages of seventeen and twenty-four possessed natural immunity.

Anyone younger or older rarely survived.

As for the men... The virus left most of them infertile.

Only those in exceptional physical condition retained the ability to reproduce.

With humanity standing on the brink of extinction, the remaining world leaders launched Project Genetic.

Every healthy young woman with a viable uterus was identified, gathered into government shelters, and designated as a Seed Carrier.

At the same time, healthy fertile men were carefully selected and paired with them.

Once a Seed Carrier became pregnant, she would return to the shelter, where she would receive the best medical care until childbirth.

If the baby was born safely, the child would be taken immediately to a government research facility.

Raised there under strict supervision until adulthood.

And the mother?

After spending six months recovering from childbirth, she would be assigned once again as a Seed Carrier.

Cruel as it sounded, the project had successfully prevented humanity from disappearing after the world's "Little Apocalypse."

Fiora and Rea themselves had both been born through Project Genetic.

Neither of them knew who their biological parents were.

That secret belonged solely to the government.

Fiora glanced at herself one last time in the large mirror mounted on the wall.

Her long crimson curls were styled into an elegant French twist that flowed gracefully down to her waist, with a few delicate strands framing her fair face.

She wore a white silk dress with a modestly plunging neckline that subtly accentuated her feminine figure without appearing overly revealing.

The skirt ended at mid-thigh, exposing her long, slender legs.

She had to look her best.

If the man assigned to her found her attractive, everything would be over much sooner.

A knock on the door drew both women's attention.

"Fiora, it's time to leave!" A man's voice called from outside.

Fiora took a slow breath. "I'm coming."

Rea walked over and hugged her tightly.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she struggled to hold back her sobs.

They had only recently found genuine friendship, yet now fate was tearing them apart.

No one knew whether they would ever meet again.

Perhaps Rea would already be gone.

Or perhaps Fiora would never return, transferred to another shelter after successfully becoming pregnant.

Smiling gently, Fiora squeezed her friend's hands before placing a soft kiss on her cheek.

"Until we meet again, Rea. Take care of yourself... and stay healthy."

With that, she stepped out of the room to face the destiny awaiting her.

"The island is just ahead. Prepare yourself."

The voice of a soldier pulled Fiora out of her thoughts.

Shielding her eyes from the sunlight pouring through the helicopter window, she looked down.

A lush green island appeared below, surrounded by breathtaking beaches.

The crystal-clear sea sparkled like blue diamonds beneath the sun.

Golden-white sand reflected the light so brilliantly that Fiora couldn't help but smile.

It had been so long since she had seen the ocean.

Perhaps only once in her entire life.

Most of her existence had been spent inside laboratories and government shelters.

Her heart began racing again.

That island was where her assigned Seed Donor lived.

She silently hoped he would like her appearance.

If they could cooperate smoothly, this mission would end much faster.

The helicopter slowly descended toward the shoreline, sending seawater and sand swirling into the fresh coastal air.

Then Fiora noticed someone emerging from the dense trees.

A young man. Perhaps only a few years older than she was.

He was undeniably handsome, with dark hair...

And crimson-red eyes.

Fiora blinked. Had she imagined it? Could a human really have eyes that color?

"Oh. Looks like one of your Seed Donors came to greet you."

The soldier escorting her spoke casually.

Fiora froze. "Wait... what do you mean by one of my Seed Donors?"

The soldiers exchanged uneasy glances before one of them finally sighed.

"So... they didn't tell you?"

"Tell me what?" Fiora asked, panic beginning to creep into her voice.

The soldier looked at her apologetically. "Your assigned Seed Donor isn't just one man, Fiora."

He paused.

"There are... five of them."

Darius continued up the grand staircase, its steps covered in thick carpet, with Fiora still slung over his shoulder. She hadn't dared say much ever since he had carried her away.Truthfully, she had been afraid of Darius from the very first moment they met on the beach. And now...He was taking her to his room?Fiora lifted her head just enough to glance out one of the windows they passed. It was still late afternoon.Vael had clearly told Darius to wait until nightfall before giving her his seed...Fiora clenched her jaw. Then steeled her heart. She couldn't allow herself to waver.Being a Seed Carrier was an important duty.It didn't matter which of the five men became her Seed Donor. And Darius was one of them. She had no right to refuse simply because he wanted her now.Eventually, Darius carried her into a spacious bedroom.Fiora blinked in surprise. Nearly every piece of furniture, every decoration, was white. The room felt calm, a complete contrast to Darius' explosive persona

  • Stranded with Five Dangerous Men    7. Snake

Riven continued smiling, as though everything he had just said were perfectly ordinary.Fiora, however, couldn't respond. Her thoughts had fallen into complete disarray. This island...These men...Their abilities...None of it made any sense.Without realizing it, she tightened her grip around the bouquet in her hands."Relax," Riven said casually. "As long as you don't try to run away, life on this island is actually quite--"His sentence was abruptly cut short.A faint rustling sound came from the bushes near Fiora's feet. She instinctively turned toward it, her eyes widening as a small dark-colored snake shot out of the undergrowth.Fiora tried to step back.Too late.In one swift movement, the snake sank its fangs into her ankle."Ah--!"A sharp sting shot through her body, quickly followed by an intense, terrifying heat. The flowers slipped from her hands and scattered across the ground. For the first time since they'd met, Riven's smile disappeared. He slowly stood, his express

"What are those flowers called?" Fiora tilted her head slightly as she looked at a cluster of small, bright orange blossoms. She had never seen them before. There weren't many flowers at the shelter. The grounds were filled with neat green lawns and towering shade trees.Clean. Comfortable. Practical. But nowhere near as colorful as the garden surrounding the island's mansion."They're beautiful," Fiora said with a smile.Riven followed her gaze before replying, "Honestly, I don't know much about flowers. Vael's the one who usually takes care of this garden."He smiled. "But if you like them, I'll pick some for you."Fiora looked at him, her eyes widening. "So... Vael planted them?"Riven didn't answer.Instead, he walked toward the patch of bright orange flowers in one corner of the garden. He crouched down and carefully picked several stems.Once he was satisfied, he returned to Fiora, who was still sitting on the swing."The flowers are just as beautiful as you are," he said with a

  • Stranded with Five Dangerous Men    5. Suspicion

To be honest, Fiora felt a hint of disappointment when Vael chose Darius to be the first among them to become her Seed Donor. It wasn't that she wanted Riven instead. It was just...For some reason, a small part of her had secretly hoped that Vael would be the one.Fiora quickly shook her head, her cheeks warming with embarrassment as she tried to banish the absurd thought from her mind. There could be no preferences. No feelings. No personal desires. The purpose of seed donation was simple--to reproduce, to preserve humanity, and to ensure the survival of the human race.Any emotional attachment between a Seed Donor and a Seed Carrier was strictly forbidden.Anyone who violated that rule would face severe punishment."You've been daydreaming this whole time. What are you thinking about?" A gentle voice pulled Fiora back to reality. She looked up, only to find Riven smiling at her.Feeling guilty, she gave the handsome blond man an awkward smile.Since Darius would become the first ma

Fiora froze. She couldn't move as each of her hands was firmly held by a different man. What was she supposed to do now?"Let her go, Riven. I'm serious." Darius spoke again, his strange crimson eyes blazing like living flames."And if I don't?" Riven challenged with a mocking smile."How childish. Just because you saw Fiora first, you think you have the right to be the first Seed Donor?"Darius let out a cold snort. "Typical. You're always like this, aren't you? Always trying to take away everything I like."His voice dropped into a warning. "I'm telling you one last time. Let go of Fiora... or I'll beat you senseless."A soft laugh escaped Riven's lips. "You really think you'd win?" he asked, his smile never fading, though a dangerous gleam flashed across his blue eyes."I'm much stronger than you, Darius."A crooked grin spread across Darius' face. "We'll see who's still standing in the end."Elyon, who had already returned to his book, quietly closed it once more, apparently decid

After saying those words, Darius finally released her arm and rose to his feet. His crimson eyes lingered on Vael for a moment, but he said nothing. With only a quiet snort, he turned and walked away.Fiora watched his retreating figure before shifting her gaze back to Vael. The silver-haired man stepped closer and extended a hand to help her up."Are you alright?" he asked softly, his eyes briefly falling to Fiora's thin dress, now soaked through and clinging to every curve of her body.Without hesitation, Vael removed the black overshirt he wore over his white T-shirt.He gently draped it over Fiora's shoulders, carefully buttoning it for her without taking advantage of the moment or allowing his hands to linger.So...Despite his unusual hair and extraordinary eyes, Vael himself was surprisingly... normal. In fact, he was such a gentleman that Fiora couldn't help feeling touched. To be honest, women chosen as Seed Carriers were rarely treated with that much respect."Thank you," sh
