After saying those words, Darius finally released her arm and rose to his feet.

His crimson eyes lingered on Vael for a moment, but he said nothing.

With only a quiet snort, he turned and walked away.

Fiora watched his retreating figure before shifting her gaze back to Vael.

The silver-haired man stepped closer and extended a hand to help her up.

"Are you alright?" he asked softly, his eyes briefly falling to Fiora's thin dress, now soaked through and clinging to every curve of her body.

Without hesitation, Vael removed the black overshirt he wore over his white T-shirt.

He gently draped it over Fiora's shoulders, carefully buttoning it for her without taking advantage of the moment or allowing his hands to linger.

So...

Despite his unusual hair and extraordinary eyes, Vael himself was surprisingly... normal.

In fact, he was such a gentleman that Fiora couldn't help feeling touched.

To be honest, women chosen as Seed Carriers were rarely treated with that much respect.

"Thank you," she said sincerely.

Once again, her eyes met Vael's mismatched gaze.

Emerald green. Sapphire blue.

The strange sensation returned immediately.

Her skin tingled without warning, while an unfamiliar warmth spread through her chest.

"Have we... met before?" she asked at last.

For several seconds, Vael remained silent. Then a faint, bittersweet smile appeared on his lips.

"This isn't the first time you've looked at me like a stranger," he murmured.

His answer caught Fiora completely off guard.

Not the first time? So they really had met before?

Before she could ask another question, Vael gently took her hand.

"Come on," he said. "I'll introduce you to the others. You've already met Darius. There are still three more."

Fiora swallowed nervously.

She silently prayed the remaining three weren't like Darius.

Someone gentle like Vael would be much easier to deal with.

Besides...

There was no point resisting anymore. She had already arrived on the island.

Whether she liked it or not, she had to fulfill her duty as a Seed Carrier.

And who knew?

Perhaps not all five men would even agree to become her Seed Donors.

Hopefully, she would only need to work with one of them.

Still holding hands, Vael led her across the sandy shore. The warmth of his palm seemed to seep through her skin.

Fiora glanced sideways at the tall man walking beside her and unconsciously bit her lower lip.

Goodness... Vael was unbelievably handsome.

She certainly wouldn't mind if he were willing to become her Seed Donor...

The thought alone made a rosy blush spread from her cheeks to the tips of her ears.

Soon, they arrived at an enormous mansion standing a short distance from the beach.

Fiora stared at it in amazement. "Do you live here with other people?" she asked.

Vael shook his head. "Only the five of us."

His answer made Fiora blink. Such a massive mansion...

Occupied by only five people?

She had spent almost her entire life inside government shelters.

They were clean and comfortable enough, but nowhere near this large.

Even the room she shared with Rea was only about five by six meters.

Together, they stepped inside the mansion. Vael led her into a spacious lounge.

Three men were already there. One of them was Darius.

The moment he saw Fiora, he immediately stood up, his glowing crimson eyes locking onto her without blinking.

Fiora couldn't help feeling as though he wanted to devour her alive.

"So... the Seed Carrier has finally arrived."

The speaker was another incredibly handsome man with golden-blond hair.

He had been lounging lazily across a thick fur rug before quickly getting to his feet.

A playful smile curved across his lips as he looked Fiora up and down, noticing the oversized black shirt she wore over her dress.

"Hi. I'm Riven. You must be Fiora, right?" He held out his hand.

Fiora smiled politely and shook it. "Hello, Riven. It's nice to meet you."

Another normal person. That alone made Fiora feel relieved.

Although... Riven definitely seemed a little flirtatious.

"Elyon. Come here."

Vael called toward a man with dark brown curls, who was quietly reading a thick book at a nearby desk.

Without complaint, the man closed his book and walked over.

"This is Elyon," Vael introduced. "He doesn't talk much, but he's not a bad person."

Elyon shot Vael a flat look but remained silent. Instead, he merely gave Fiora a brief nod. Not even the slightest smile.

"H-Hello, Elyon..."

His sharp gaze made Fiora instinctively nervous.

Alright... so Vael and Riven seem approachable. Darius is far too aggressive... and Elyon is impossible to read, she noted silently.

Vael glanced around the lounge. "Where's Zephyr?"

"Probably out on patrol like always," Riven answered casually.

Then he turned back to Fiora with obvious curiosity. "Your clothes are soaked."

He flashed another dazzling smile. "I've got something much nicer than Vael's shirt."

Before Fiora could react, Riven gently pulled her hand away from Vael. "My room's upstairs, so--"

"Hey!" A furious shout interrupted him.

It was Darius. In an instant, he grabbed Fiora's free hand.

"Don't cut in line, Riven!" His crimson eyes burned fiercely. "I saw her first. So from now on..."

A possessive grin spread across his face.

"Fiora belongs in my room first."

  • Stranded with Five Dangerous Men    45. Sedation

CRASH!!Darius’s body was thrown hard against the hallway wall, the decorative wood paneling cracking under the impact. Yet the red-eyed man was on his feet in an instant—breath ragged, chest heaving uncontrollably.Several paces away, Vael stood with perfect composure. In his right hand, he held a metal syringe filled with a pale blue liquid. A sedative, double the dosage he’d given Elyon, Zephyr, and Riven. That was why he had been delayed. Minutes earlier, he had raced down to the mansion’s emergency storage room. There he found Elyon leaning against the wall, breathing erratically. Riven was still trying to smile, though his hands trembled. And Zephyr stood farthest from the stairs, the wind around him swirling wildly. All three had caught the same scent—Fiora’s blood.Vael knew he could take no chances. Without hesitation, he administered the impulse-suppressant sedative. One shot for Elyon. One for Riven. One for Zephyr. They protested—especially Zephyr—but Vael gave them

  • Stranded with Five Dangerous Men    44. Blood

"The scent of blood…?" Fiora whispered, repeating his words. A chill ran straight down her spine. Instinctively, she turned to look toward the dark forest behind the mansion. Thin mist curled between the trees, blurring everything into indistinct, menacing shapes. Yet there was nothing there—no sound, no movement, only silence and shadow. "Whose blood?" she asked, her voice growing smaller. Vael didn’t answer at once. He stood slowly, his gaze sweeping the perimeter of the yard, alert and wary. "…That, I do not yet know." The answer only made her heart beat faster. Vael was never one to be easily unsettled—but now, he looked fully prepared for battle. A sudden gust of night wind blew, colder than before. And almost simultaneously, a branch snapped somewhere in the woods behind them. CREAAK… Fiora froze. Vael’s eyes locked onto that exact spot. "Go inside," he commanded, voice low and sharp. "Huh?" "Now, Fiora." There was no room for argument in his tone. She hurried

  • Stranded with Five Dangerous Men    43. Nightmare

Fiora jolted awake, her body jerking violently. Her eyes flew wide open in the darkness, breath coming in short, ragged gasps."…huh… huh…"Cold sweat drenched her neck and back, her chest heaving rapidly. The memory of Darius’s face from the dream remained vivid, terrifyingly clear—those glowing red eyes, the rough pressure against her lips, the low timbre of his voice, all felt achingly real.Trembling, she scrambled out of bed and hurried to the door. Her hand reached for the handle and pulled. And… CLICK.Ah, thank goodness. It was still locked. She let out a long, shaky breath of relief, leaning back against the door. "It was just a dream…" she whispered to herself.Yet her body still trembled, for it had felt far too real. She could still recall the weight of him holding her down atop the mattress. She wrapped her arms around herself. "Why… did I dream something like that?"Was it because of Riven’s words earlier? Or was it because she was truly beginning to fear the resonance

  • Stranded with Five Dangerous Men    42. I Will Always Find You

Fiora frowned deeply at Riven. "What do you mean… it hasn’t fully gone away?"Riven twirled a small screwdriver between his fingers and hopped casually down from the table."This resonance isn’t some ordinary sickness," he said lightly. "Once our bodies recognized you as the ‘core’, our minds never forgot it.""The core…?" Fiora whispered."Mm." Riven’s smile was thin. "More or less like an addiction."The air in the room shifted, growing heavy. Darius, who had been repairing the support beam, stopped abruptly. Zephyr glanced over from the window. Elyon sighed, as if he disliked Riven laying everything so bare.Fiora twisted the hem of her shirt. "So that means… you could still lose control again?""Absolutely," Riven answered without hesitation.Elyon shot him a sharp look. "Riven.""What? She deserves to know." He shrugged. "The difference is—now we can still think clearly." His blue gaze dropped to her hands. "But the deeper the emotional or physical bond between us… the deeper

  • Stranded with Five Dangerous Men    41. I Couldn’t Bear to Lose You a Second Time

l"Why didn’t Elyon heal your wound?"Fiora’s voice was soft in the mansion’s main hall, still strewn with debris. She sat beside Vael on a long sofa near the fireplace, while the other four continued clearing the wreckage. An open medical kit rested on a small table, and Fiora tended to his hand with a solemn, focused expression. Her fingers moved gently as she wiped away dried blood, her brow furrowing at the sight of the deep gash across his knuckles. "This nearly cut straight through to the tendons…" she murmured.Vael had been watching her in silence all this time. The dim light softened the glow of her curly red hair. The way she looked after him felt achingly familiar—painful, yet somehow calming."I refused it," Vael answered finally, his tone as even as ever. "I prefer my body heals on its own, rather than relying on Elyon’s power."He spoke as though such an injury meant nothing at all. But Fiora lifted her face to meet his gaze. "What really happened?" she asked quietly.

  • Stranded with Five Dangerous Men    40. A Glimmer of Hope

The scent of damp wood and the faint patter of rain were the first things to greet Fiora’s returning senses.Slowly, she opened her eyes and found herself staring up at the familiar ceiling of her bedroom. Her room… in the mansion. So… she wasn’t in the bunker anymore?Fiora blinked several times, breathing in slowly. Her head felt heavy, as though she’d just woken from a dream too long and too exhausting to bear. Yet strangely, her chest felt tight, as if something lingered just beneath the surface.Fragments remained—faint, yet undeniable. Vael’s embrace. Zephyr’s voice. That terrifying, all-consuming darkness. And…Fiora sat up abruptly. "Vael…!"Her breath came in short bursts as she glanced around the room. Everything looked normal. No bunker. No crumbling walls. No earthquake. Just her room, white curtains drifting gently in the breeze. She lifted a hand and touched her forehead. "Was it… all a dream?"But when her fingers brushed lightly over her lips, her heart began to r
