“Flight Wildbolt, is now boarding! Head towards gate six!”
“That’s just, Jess.”, I tell.
She runs up to Mr. Slender and gives him a hug, then followed by Miss Karmay, Miss Sullivan, and then Mr. Sapping. He whispers something in her ear before she aggressively shakes her head, which I found adorable; she grabs her backpack and waits for me. I quickly hug everyone as we wave them from behind. Once we got there, the line wasn’t too long, but it took some time before we could get on the plane. When we finally got on the plane, Jess had the window seat while I had the middle seat. There were many people passing us, most of them would glare at me, which I figured would happen, but I don’t pay attention until Molly walks while murmured, “Stupid, half-ling. Ruin our college name!”
Rolling my eyes at that, I glance out of the corner of my eye to see Jess glaring at Molly. Messing up her hair as she hits my hand, mumbles, “Mama, not the hair!” Before I could even say anything, we heard a laugh come from behind me. We turned our attention to our guest, to see a male with a more defined muscular body shape while having a tan complex. The more we stared at the male, the awkward he got. Not wanting the guy to feel more awkward than he already is feeling.
“Are you the person who’s sitting with us?”, I ask.
“Yeah, I hope-”
“If it’s not a half-ling and a giant!”, someone yells.
Ignoring them, I wait for the guy to sit down when Jess pulls on my arm away so she can grab my backpack, so could grab some snacks. As she does that, the male looks between us for over a few minutes, so I decide to be the first to talk.
“Hi, I’m Raina and this is my daughter, Jessica.”, I introduced ourselves.
“I’m Brandon; it’s a pleasure to meet you two!”, he says.
“What are you?”, Jess asks bluntly.
“Jessica! You can’t just ask that bluntly!”, I whisper-yell.
“Sorry.”
“It’s alright; I’m a half-giant. What are you guys?”, he answers, then asks.
“I’m a vampire angel and she’s a human!”, Jess states proudly.
Giving her a smile, before she goes back to do whatever she was doing before. Glancing outside, I take notice that we’re getting ready to leave, so I belt Jess before doing the same with myself. As we waited for the plane to take off, I noticed Brandon wasn't looking so good, quickly getting the anti-nausea potion out of the bag and handing it to him.
“Thank you, but why do you have it?”, he says, then asks.
“No problem, for the reason I have it is that Mr. Sapping figure since I don’t know if Jess gets motion sickness or not.”, I explained to him.
“Mhm; so how did you two meet?”, he asks before rushing out. “Not to be rude!”
“Calm down, Brandon. I knew that question was coming up since my daughter told you what she is. Found her at the beginning of my junior year and we’ve been together ever since.”, I say quickly before explaining.
“I’m glad you helped her; what is your goal at the institute?”, he asks.
“I want everyone to be united. All my life, I’ve seen how each race stays with their light friends or dark but never together.”
“That would help everyone when getting jobs.”, he states.
Nodding my head at him, resting my head against Jess’s head that landed on my shoulder when I was walking to him. As time went on, I couldn’t go back to sleep so I took a glance at Brandon to see him staring at something or someone; lifting my head slightly to see what he’s staring at, to see some girls that Molly has in front of her making fun of him. Glaring towards them, just when Molly looked from her phone; she glares hard before turning her attention towards Brandon and she smiles, not like a normal smile but a sadist look. Slight got uncomfortable, so I rushed to look at something else, hoping to take my mind off the look she gave him.
“She doesn’t seem friendly.”, Brandon whispers.
“Yeah, no. Not even close.”, I state.
“Well, I already know who I’m avoiding.”, he says before laughing and I join in.
“Yes, please do! We don’t know what she’ll do!”, I laughed out loud.
“You're so mean!”, he says, laughing.
“I am not!”, I say, hitting his arm.
“Ow. You know there’s a fight class in the institute?”, he says, then asks.
“No, I’ll have to ask the headmistress about taking that class with Jess.”, I state.
“That would be a good idea.”, he stated before talking normally.
A few minutes after he said that, he let out a grant, raising an eyebrow at him, but I didn't ask. Closing the blinds to the window so the sun doesn’t wake Jess up when I hear another groan. Now staring at him, as he’s bent over, holding his stomach; placing a gentle hand on his shoulder blade when he takes a sharp inhale. Eyes go wide when I realize what’s happening. Quickly takes the shrink potion and uncork it before handing it to him, which he quickly drinks.
“Thank you.”
“No problem, but I was wondering why the potion wore off.”, I state, curiously.
“I took the potion around nine.”, he explains.
“You know that the shrink potion only lasts for three hours before you felt the pain of your body going back to normal size.”, I state, bluntly.
“Know I do.”, he states, while leaning back in his seat.
“Potions isn’t my strongest subject, so it's why I didn’t know that it only lasts three hours, so I’m really thankful for you.”, he states while his eyes shut.
“Sleep. The potion takes some energy out of the consumer. We’ve only been on the flight for an hour.”, I say.
He was out before I was done talking; shaking my head at the guy before pulling out two blankets and a pillow, covering him with the blanket and placing the pillow under his head, then turning to Jess to cover her as well. Setting an alarm for another three hours, before heading to sleep, but just as I do that, someone whispers, “You know more than humans do.”
A year and a half have passed since I became queen; I’m still teaching but not full-time. Silvia has had Walter teacher of my classes, so I can focus more on getting allies. All stores must treat each dark or light creature equally. Sadly, I wasn't able to change their minds on half-lings, but I could see that talking to half-ling isn’t social suicide, so that's a bonus. The shadow beings live among the griffins. Both are quite happy; Jess has more friends, along with Griff. I met some very interesting people who somehow got away with a few things. For one, my sister is still experimenting on her family, the things I saw- she got the death penalty along with her lover. As for Mr. Jagger, let's just say there are now levels on what type of vampire you are. Right now, I’m in Silvia’s office; I have already finished teaching my classes for today, so I decide to hang out with her for a while.
She runs off with Griff as I watch the males in the room talk to one other before one of them makes a call; glancing at Silvia to see her also confused so we wait- after about a minute, the guy comes back and he stares at us, raising an eyebrow. It gets him to talk.“We call the queen since you won’t listen to my king.”, they say.“Whatever makes you happy.”, I say with a shrug.I can hear all of them hissing at me but I honestly could not care less so putting my eyes on my daughter, as she laughs while riding Griff, smiling until I smelt something familiar- whipping my head towards the smell, I see someone who looks somewhat like me; continuing to stare at them while they do the same until someone clears their throat.“Well, this is t
Not wanting her to feel like I was being nosy, I sat down in my seat and turned my attention to her.“What are you reading?”, I asked her.“A letter.”, she answers.“From?”“Mr. Jagger.”, she answers without taking her eyes off it.“Do we have him?”, I asked.“Yes… I think?”, she answers.“What does it say?”, I ask curiously.“That if I don’t take you out of here, then I’ll be removed as headmistress.”, she says.“Um, yeah, no
“Welcome to potions, everyone. We’ll be doing a quick quiz together to see just how much you know.”, Mr. Sapping says.“Before we begin, I would like it if you wrote notes down while we do this quiz.”, he says with a smile.“Now, you’ll raise your hand to answer; what are the first ingredients for Draught of Instincts?”“Rose petals.”“Yes; who can name the other ingredients?”, he asks while walking around the room.“Salt?”“Chives?”“Rose oil.”“Rosemary.”
Scared but more determined to keep Jess safe, I hold my position until Walter comes and takes her- once they’re gone, drop the ice barrier and decide to call him out.“Come out, come out, wherever you are.”, I say, taunting him.Waiting a few minutes, he comes out, hissing. Holding a laugh, I make an ice chair since he enjoys moving so slow; sitting down, I play with my fingers. Finally, he got in front of me just a few feet away- wanting to get to business done so I’m not late for class.“Is there a reason you're not with your babysitters?”“I am the king and kings don’t need babysitters.”, he hisses out.“Yes yes, I’ve heard it before.”, I say halfheart
“Does that half-ling know who we work for?”“I guess not.”“Mr. Jagger is our king, we can just tell him that a half-ling thought they could talk back to us.”Rolling my eyes at them, before saying, “Mr. Jagger is no king.” then walking away. I was going to stay to see their faces but not really wanting to so I head towards Jess- seeing her with another hybrid, I take notice that she’s just a light creature. The other hybrid is wary of Jess, but she tries to get them to realize that she will not hurt them. Stopping walking, I find another bench that has two people sitting there already, but I saw the space, so I make my way over to them. Once I sit down, I see that they’re wary of me, but I don’t hold it against them. Watching my daughter and the girl
