Chapter 4 - Annoyed Annoying Man

*Craig Wyatt Einar's POV*

---

"Sir, Mr. Einar, here is your coffee from the coffee shop. A hot one." I heard my PA's voice as I got my back on my table, while I'm reading some reports from the Sales and Marketing department.

And, I turned my swivel chair to face my assistant for two days, and she pointed me my coffee while she looks like she's catching her breath. Well, I just made her purchase one, again, as the coffee that she got me first, earlier, was colder than my attitude towards everyone. I don't know if she's mad, annoyed, or irritated. I guess all, and that's the purpose.

"How am I supposed to know that you didn't put poison in it? Or what if... maybe you are working for someone that wants to get rid of me through my coffee? That would be possible." I asked her, which made her looked at me with her perfectly trimmed eyebrows met in turmoil. And, she scoffed before answering.

Well, it just popped up In my mind because she might have been holding some contempt towards me, since yesterday. I mean, she should do everything I say, right? She is my personal assistant. Personal. I am compensating her for that. But, I was indeed impressed with how she did her three days of job in just one day. Amazing. Josie just did recommend a good one. And, I hope she can survive in the coming days and weeks, and months.

"Well, Mr. Einar, if ever I could be working for some con people that want to murder you, I could have poisoned you, yesterday and earlier this morning. And, you could have been dead since yesterday, also. But, I guess that you are still breathing just fine and you seem healthy. And, you could just not drink that coffee to make sure of it." She answered calmly, and a smirk formed on my face as I have thought of another notion.

"What if... The cafe people have put something in it, and you didn't know. The crime would be charge on you as the person who gave it to me, don't you think? That's also possible." I answered as I clasped my hands together in front of me, and I tried to examine the beverage at the middle of the table. And, it made the brownie think about it. That really could happen.

"Hmm, yeah. It could be. Then, it's final, sir. Don't drink the coffee. That's the only way to be safe." She uttered and suggested, that made me laugh out with her brilliantly stupid idea.

"And, how am I supposed to take up some caffeine in my system? I need it to ease my mind, and my headache is starting to knock in my skull, Maia. I need coffee, this instant." I asked her, and I asserted which made her left left eyebrow raise while she seemed thinking deeply for a solution to our problem right now.

"Well... You could just make your own coffee, sir. So, you could be safe from poisoning, and you could adjust to whatever taste you prefer for your hot beverage. That's the best thing that you could do, Mr. Einar." She answered while she just kept standing in front of my table, and I'm hella sure that she is growing so annoyed right now already.

"Me? Make my own coffee? And...? What are you supposed to do? Aren't you here for that job? To get me what I need and do things for me? To make things easier for me? That's a PA's job and not the CEO's, Maia." I asked while stating some facts that made the woman take a deep breath. Is she gonna counter? Yes, go on, let's see what you got.

"Alright, I understand, Sir. I'll do it. I'll make your coffee. But... Do you have your personal mug? And, do you like it to be just this taste? Well, I'm sure that there is a coffee maker out there in the common kitchen, and---" She answered and asked, but stopped as I pointed up which made her looked at the ceiling, then, back to me with her puzzled face.

Well, I was really waiting for her to say those. Damn, finally, she will make my coffee! I am actually holding on to what Josie told me that she can do it well. I just wanna get the best out of her, and mess up with her mildly just for revenge for what she did to me back in the day. She may not have remembered me but I remember it clearly because it was my twentieth birthday. That was such a cold treatment from her which made me earn a ridiculous rejection from the girl that I was supposed to ask out on my special day. Also, some bruises and broken ribs from the jerks on the streets that laughed at me because of my wet pants at my groin area because of this woman's clumsiness and that stupid glass of cold iced tea. I will never forget it. Who could, right?

Then, she gave me a questioning face like asking if what do I mean.

"Top floor. You can find a kitchen there and the things you need. Just beware of the dog." I told her, and she blinked her eyes multiple times. Didn't she hear me?

"What is up there, sir?" She asked curiously, and I leaned back to put my feet up on the table, then, crossed my legs as I showed her an unimpressed face.

"I'm not Wikipedia nor Google. See for yourself, Maia. And, the way up there is... That elevator. I bet you know how to use one. You have ten minutes to do it." I answered as I pointed to the bookshelf, and she nodded her head while about to get the coffee on my table, then, she took a sip of it that made my eyes widened in shock. What the...?

"Hmm, pretty simple. Coffee on your way, Mr. Einar." She uttered as she walked to the bookshelf with the coffee in hand, and she stood there while contemplating on how to open it. Well, I wouldn't tell her how. Evil? I know.

And, I looked at my watch to begin counting her time, and she tried to move the shelf by pushing it with her right hand which made me hold my laughter. No, I'm not gonna laugh.

Then, she let out a heavy breath as she put a hand on her waist and looking at the huge thing in front of her while puzzled by how to get it open. Is she tired?

"Nine minutes! The books won't tell you how to open it, Maia. Use both your hands and mind." I let out as I pick up again the document that I was reading earlier. Let's see if she can figure it out.

"Right, books! Hmm, gotcha!" She rejoiced as she has moved the correct book to open the passage. Impressive! Just one guess, huh?

Then, she has finally arrived on my domain that then made me look at what she's doing on my computer screen through the cameras up there. I trust her because Josie does. But, I don't know about Jasmine, and it is what I am excited about.

And, as I see her walked into the living room, I looked at her in wonder as she kneeled and patted my poodle's head who went close to her to sniff her. Hmm, they are friends that quick? Sabrina can't even touch that bitch. Well, this woman might be a dog person. Good for her and good for me.

---

While I am amused by how my dog asks for food from my PA whose busy making my coffee in the kitchen, I heard the telephone ring, and I bet it's a call from Kelly, my new secretary.

"Hello, Mr. Einar! Mr. Ethan Hudson is at your doorstep, sir." The woman on the other line spoke, and I hung up the call without saying anything.

And, I unlocked the door on my phone to let my glorious cousin step in. What could be this jerk president wants from me that he didn't tell me from our meeting, just an hour ago?

"Craig! Cousin, how are you doing here?" He greeted me with his grinning face, and I offered him to sit down.

"What do you want, Ethan?" I asked him with my stern face on, and he just laughed. I don't see and hear anything funny around here.

"Don't be like that, cuz. Are you not happy to see me here in your office that I often visit? Are you not happy to have... Where is your gorgeous and hot new PA?" He answered while looking around, and I am just trying to keep my cool.

"Ah, here she is! Hmm, she could go to your secret quarter already? Interesting! Hi, you must be... Mia. It's such a beautiful name for a beautiful woman, too. I'm Ethan. It's a pleasure to meet you." He let out jovially as he stood up to meet the woman who just walked out of the elevator with my coffee.

"Hi, Mr. Ethan! It's nice to meet you, too. And, Mr. Einar, here is your coffee, sir. Also, I gave the lovely creature just a few dog food that I found there. Is it okay, sir?" My PA greeted the man in his blue business suit with her warm smile, and she turned her attention to me as she placed my mug of coffee on my table, then, reported.

And, I nodded my head in response, and I turned to my cousin as he really went near the woman to offer her a handshake, and the bastard went to kiss the back of her hand instead. What the fuck? I am so... She better get back to her space, and make something valuable than being flirted by this player.

"Why don't you take a fifteen minutes break, and get your own coffee and snacks, Miss Gideon? Just continue with your paperwork, later." I told the woman, and she looked at me in skepticism as to why I am giving her another break for this afternoon, or maybe because I called her with her proper surname. I just need to deal with this man alone in here.

"Alright, Mr. Einar, thank you." She replied and headed out after she took something from her purse.

"Now, what do you want, Ethan?" I asked him again as he went back to sit down, and he turned his attention on me.

"Is she doing good in here? Or... Are you treating her well in here? If you'll fire her, or if she'll resign, I need a new PA, too. And, someone as stunning as her by my side could make me motivated to work on my assigned position in this company. Are you, too? Oh, how could I forget? You are engaged to Sab. Mm, unfortunately, you can't go after Mia romantically. But, I can. And, I can treat her better. I wonder if she---" He babbled that just makes me grit my teeth in annoyance, and I can not help but cut him off.

"Is it what you are here for? Because if so... I have no time for your bullshits, Ethan. I have lots of work to do rather than talking to you about Mia. You may now leave." I stated sternly, and he just cackled like a hyena. I really want to get rid of a dozen of his teeth, right now. How is he even deserving to be the rightful successor of this company?

"Oh, Craig! Don't be so hot-headed. Fine, I'm here to invite you personally over for dinner at my parents' mansion. Grandpa Carlos will be there, and he has something important to tell us. Be there. Six pm. And... Good luck." He uttered in a serious tone of voice, and he stood up to leave me in peace while smirking.

What could that old man want to tell us that could make Ethan so confident about? It should not be what I have in mind.
