Chapter 7 - I'll Quit

*Mia Taylen Gideon's POV*

---

Jassy's bark echoed in the room as she saw another person, and the woman squealed as she hastily got off from my boss to end their make-out session on the couch when she saw me and the dog.

"What the hell is she doing here, Craig?" Sabrina asked angrily and suspiciously her fiancee who just cleared his throat as he stands up.

"Umm... She is picking up Jassy to take her to the sitter. That's all." He explained, and I feel very uncomfortable with the woman's sharp stare at me.

Well, surprise! And, no, I didn't do anything wrong with her man. I have no other immoral intentions, Ma'am.

"Who's Jassy?" She asked as she turned her gaze to Mr. Einar.

"Jasmine. Who else in here that needs a sitter?" My boss answered, and I just made myself busy trying to find the dog's leash around in here.

"Yeah, and... I am actually heading out now, Sab. I'm sorry for the trouble. But... Umm, Mr. Einar, I need Jassy's leash." I uttered, and she nodded her head. Then, the man pointed to the door that leads to the stairs to the rooftop.

"Behind of that door. And, also... Uh, tell the sitter to give her a morning walk, every day. And, you know what's her food." The man stated, and I nodded my head in understanding as I go to get the thing that I need for the dog.

"Okay, sir. And... we are good to go, Jassy. Come on, girl! Say your bye-bye to them." I replied with a small smile as I put on the dog's collar, and told the creature that then barked twice. Oh, yes!

And, Sabrina who's been crossing her arms on her chest snapped her head to Mr. Einar who chuckled with his dog's brilliance. I taught her that and a lot more tricks.

Then, the man went near us and kneeled to speak with Jassy. He really loves her.

"Bye, Jasmine! And, don't get pregnant, alright? Be a good girl. I'm counting on you." He uttered and patted the dog's head, then, he winked at me as he stood up, which made me scoffed. We are really are getting into that deal. He better sign this. I'll just leave it on his table in the office.

"Alright, I'll go ahead, Mr. Einar, Sab. Bye!" I bid them goodbye, and I turned to the elevator door without looking and waiting for their responses.

Damn, I know that the woman is irritated as hell as to why I was all alone with his man during our day off and inside his quarter. But, bitch, I am just getting the bitch for the bitch's sake. Because she can't even touch or be near this precious creature, and I wonder why. They are not friends. She could have been the one that should take care of Jassy by then, and not let her husband-to-be give the burden of finding the dog another home in his absence.

As I stepped out of the elevator in the office, we went to the CEO's area to place the post-it note on top of his table. He can see this, and I already have signed it.

And, I just decided that we will head out here and not use the private elevator. I also need to pass by the secretary to ask her if what time should we meet up in the lobby, tomorrow. I didn't get the chance to ask the boss because his horny fiancee has butted in. I bet she's gonna miss his touch for that three-day trip of her man being away from her. Pathetic.

---

"Girl, that's Jasmine? Wow! Damn! Hi, lovely! You look so beautiful, indeed." My best friends let out as they stood up when they saw me and the dog walked out of the main elevator.

"Yep, that's her," I replied, and Tesla kneeled to pat the dog's head, and they seem like gonna get along well together.

"But, hey, Mia. Did some blondie go up in there? The fiancee?" Val asked me curiously, and I just nodded my head in response. Then, I walked ahead to head out of this building to head home.

"Damn, girl, she's pretty. But... you are gorgeous. Got nothing on you. Even a bit. Wyalen forever!" Tesla whispered and cheered as she walks beside me.

And, they did a high-five that just made me shake my head lightly in frustration. Well, I just have some very supportive, loyal, flattering, and annoying friends. I just could not ask for more.

When we are about to turn left near the bus stop, we have heard a car honk that made us looked behind us. Then, we saw Sabrina parked her luxurious top-down two-seater car that I don't know the name of.

Oh, they finished that quick? Or they didn't get into it? Hmm.

But, what could be this woman want from us. Me, specifically. I feel a bit nervous though.

"Hey, Mia! Can I have a word with you for a minute?" She called out to me, and my friends turned to me with their talking eyes telling me good luck.

And, I nodded my head in response as I handed Jassy's leash to Tesla.

Then, I went near to the woman who went out of her car and leaned on it.

"Hi, what can I help you, Sab?" I asked her nicely, and she seemed to be wearing a bitch face on.

Oh, I know this. Trying to intimidate. Great! I wonder if what exciting thing does she need from me.

"I hope this approach of mine finds you well. I just want to tell you that... I want you to stop working for Craig. That's it." She answered, and told me sternly as she crossed her arms on her chest.

Oh, yes! There she goes. Of course!

"Umm, oh, wow! Well, I would, Sab. Don't worry. I really will. I am actually have been trying my best to get fired since my first day of working for him. I lied to you yesterday when I said that I was fine and doing good in there. Don't tell him, but... It's actually my worst job experience. He's the worst boss of all. I bet you know why. And... I just need to make him fire me because I can't quit since we got that contract that could lead me to be sued. But... There is a but." I replied with all honesty, and she seems surprised with my confession.

I don't need to fight fire with fire. I play smoothly nasty because I shouldn't provoke this person's jealousy. She might be my ace if ever I can not win with our betting with our dogs.

"Oh, yeah, I know that he treats his employees a bit hard and strict. No, not a bit. It's in an overflowing amount. Well, except Josie. I bet you know that. But, anyway, continue with your point." She uttered and stated some facts that I couldn't agree more. I just need to let her know that I hate her man extensively. We could be friends, actually.

"Well, umm... We actually made a deal that... If Jassy could get pregnant with my dog, Andrew, a Doberman Pinscher. I can resign peacefully. Because he is confident enough that his dog won't get into it. That's why I really need to take Jassy to my home. That's it, Sab. I can finally quit legally by the time we get back from the trip. Well, after we could get the dog's pregnancy test." I told her that just made her left eyebrow raise over my silly and kinda ridiculous idea. But, we really are getting into that thing. He started it after all, and he agreed.

"That's it?" She asked, and I nodded my head with my wide smile in response.

"Oh, okay. By Wednesday then. Alright. I'll keep your words. And, good luck. Also, thank you, Mia." She stated as she is about to get inside her car.

"Yep, no problem, Sab. Have a nice day!" I replied, and she smiled at me, then, finally bid me goodbye as she drives away.

And, I let out a sigh of relief as she is finally nowhere in sight. Phew! What a minute of words!

"Damn, girl! Mia, what was that? Intense? Did you win? What did she tell you?" My friends asked me a series of questions as I go near to them who has been waiting for me.

"Well, she just told me to quit, and I said, yes. After our trip. And, I know that I can win. Right, Jassy?" I answered them while grinning, which made their faces paint a look of confusion and disbelief.

Then, I proceeded to tell them everything, so they won't be asking me any more questions.

---

"Mia, what about this blanket? It looks nice and comfy." Val suggested as she handed me a dark-gray-colored sheet that I have brought with me on my plane emergency baggage, last summer.

"Mmm, yeah, put it in, too," I told her, and I handed it back to her. Then, she folded it into its least size, so it won't take up much space in my emergency bag.

Well, thankfully, these two are helping me with arranging all the things that I would be needing for the trip tomorrow. But, I know better, they want some free dinner. Mhmm.

"Girl, do you want to put some liquor in your emergency supplies? You know, just for some fun if you get bored of being alone on the island." Tesla asked as she is the one assigned for the food and utensils.

"Mmm, just make sure that it won't take up too much space and weight. This emergency bag should be just below fifty pounds. That's the only allowed weight limit for each luggage per person. But, four pieces of luggage. And, I'll just be bringing two with me." I answered as I zipped the bag that contains my tools, solar panels with batteries, lights, and the girl nodded her head in response.

"You know what, Mia, if ever I would be trapped on an island with you, I know that I will live healthily and without worry. With all of these things, you seem like you are gonna have an escapade. Isolation from the rest of the chaotic society. That would be so magnificent. Right, Tes?" Valerie expressed while doing her thinking pose where she looks at nowhere and tapping a finger on her chin.

Yeah, isolation it is. It would be a perfect time to realize things and be a better person when you finally come back to the community. But, I am not wishing that we would really be experiencing a shipwreck. It's just for what-ifs because we never know. That dream I had last night is surely troubling because it seems so damn real. It's like a nightmare that I am on the sea with a boat and there are huge waves. It's traumatic as hell. And, it must be telling me something, and there is nothing that will be gone from me if I am just preparing. I am even doing this for my sake.

"Yeah! Especially if you are with the man of your dreams. Damn, Mia, what if Craig will be with you on an island? Will you take him with you, if so?" Tesla let out, and I turned to her with my death glare, just as then, Valerie shrieked like a frog with a very high-pitched voice.

"Yes, yes, yes, girl! Aaahh! That would be so romantic and passionate and all the good things. Damn, you should take him with you. That would be just perfect." They cheered like idiots and looked at me dreamily, while I am just trying to keep my cool. We should negotiate something about that dinner, later.

"No! Never in a million years that I will take him. I'll only save myself. Because... I could just kill him by then." I asserted, and they just looked at me knowingly with their eyebrows wiggling. I really want to erase those from their faces.

"Kill him with kindness. Well, if Craig would finally see the kind of woman that you are, he would surely be tamed. And, that's going to be the start of the new beginning of a wonderful love story of two people who hated each other at first and slowly---" Val stated like a passionate storyteller but was cut off by the voice of the person who just walked into my room.

"Who the fuck is Craig? What are you all talking about? Mia?" My boyfriend's voice boomed angrily, which made us look at him in surprise.

Oh, no.
