Chapter 8 - Deal With The Devil

*Craig Wyatt Einar's POV*

---

A soft laugh escaped my mouth as my annoyed assistant walked away to go to the kitchen with my dog. She is just so cranky.

Well, I was a bit surprised when she has told me about her consequence if ever she could win with our deal. She wants to resign. Hmm. I wonder. But, I think I don't need to. Should I change the way I treat her here? Or should I... I should win. And, I can. Because Jassy will never get pregnant. It's a cute nickname, actually. But, poor Mia. You can't get away just like that, girl. Not if I say so.

And, as I am waiting for the woman to be finished writing our contract, I snapped my head to the elevator door as I hear the bell rings. Then, it opened up, revealing my smirking fiancee. What is she doing here, unnoticed?

"Hi, Babe!" She greeted me with her bright smile, and I stood up, but she pushed me down to sit back on the couch. And, she straddled on me as she went to claim my lips with hers.

"Can we finally get into it? You promised to make it up to me, last night." She asked under her breath as her lips travel to my cheek and nibbled my left ear. Then, her left hand is wrapped around my neck and the other is on my chest, and going down.

As she went back to kissing my lips that I just responded but not really getting into it, she quickly got off of me as Jasmine barks at her.

"What the hell is she doing here, Craig?" She asked me angrily as she stares sharply at the brown-haired woman, who has looked at us with her wide eyes in shock.

And, I stood up while clearing my throat to explain Mia's purpose here which is getting the dog and taking her to the sitter.

---

After my PA has left with my beloved bitch, Sabrina turned to me with her cynical suspicious stare. Ugh, I don't like where this is going.

"What? She went in here to get the dog so that we could leave from here early and not worrying about Jassy." I told her, and she went to sit on the couch while crossing her arms on her chest.

"And, why are you calling the dog another name that that woman probably has given? You never called her Jassy before, Craig. And, why can she just go in here and out? It's your private quarter." She spat, and I just took a deep breath to keep my cool. We really are gonna fight over it. And, about Mia again and again.

"Josie can also get in here. I wouldn't be stressing myself out in drinking cold coffee from the shop, so she is making my coffee up here. And, also, where should she wash the dog? Who would clean the shits in here? I have told you many times that I don't have any interest in that person." I countered and explained that just made her eyebrows met in irritation.

Oh, trust me, girl, you wouldn't want me to choose between you or my dog. Jasmine came into my life first when I got no one else to turn to, four years ago. It's not my fault that the dog doesn't like her. Well, maybe Jassy's jealous? Hmm, could be.

"Fine. I'm sorry. I just... She is just in bad timing. Or am I? Well, anyway, Babe, do you need help in packing up for your trip? Can I help to make it up to you?" She apologized, and I smiled as she dismissed the topic. That's how quickly her mood changes. One of the things that I love about her. She would never want to get on my nerves because she knows what I can do. Yet, we argue more, lately, because of my new PA.

"It's alright, Sab. I can handle it. Thanks, by the way. I'm actually heading out to meet up with Mom for dinner. And, I need to get her from the salon, so we could just go to her home together. I'll stay the night there. Do you want to grab some snacks? I still have fifteen minutes before I'll go to the salon." I replied, and she nodded her head in response while taking a deep breath. She looked disappointed.

"I'm fine. I just ate something before I went here. Well... I suppose I need to head out, too." She answered as she stood up, and I think she really just went in here to have some fun like what I promised, last night. If she just arrived a bit early, we could have gotten into what she wants.

"Alright. I'll just get my things in my room. Car keys and phone." I uttered, and she scoffed as I am about to head to my bedroom. What is the matter with her again?

"Yeah, just be like that, Craig. You are always like that. Are you starting to treat me cold like how you treat everyone else? Or is it because you don't want me anymore? Are you sick of me? Did you regret that you asked me to marry you? Just tell me if you want to call it off." She nagged, and I closed my eyes while trying to keep my temper stay low as much as possible.

"Just go ahead, Sab, and I'll just get my keys," I uttered while gritting my teeth, and she shook her head.

"Yeah, I really am going ahead. Enjoy your vacate with your assistant." She asserted with venom in her voice and turned to walk to the elevator door.

There she goes again with Mia. Our fights nowadays are always because of her even if the girl did nothing wrong, for the freak's sake.

And, no, I am not going after my upset fiancee. I am not the kind of person to explain myself further and beg to make everything okay. I am used to be that kind of guy, but not anymore.

Then, I went to my room to get my things and I turned off the lights, and finally, I went to the elevator while waiting for it to arrive back up here.

---

I smirked as I picked up the post-it note that is pasted on my tabletop, and I sat down on my swivel chair to read it again and again.

"Contract of Agreement if Jasmine Einar would get pregnant or not.

MIA GIDEON wins with the dog getting pregnant, she can resign peacefully as Mr. Craig Einar's Personal Assistant.

Mr. Craig Einar wins with the dog not getting pregnant, his PA's working period depends on him.

Signed by: Mia Taylen Gideon and Craig Wyatt Einar."

I read the statement on the small piece of paper loudly, and I went to laugh at it hysterically. She really emphasized her name. Well, it will always be Maia Gibson to me. That really sounds the same though.

"Oh, damn, Maia! You little poor thing. I will really sign this. I'm so sorry in advance. But, you just made a deal with the devil." I muttered while chuckling as I signed above my printed name.

And, after I read and signed my silly agreement with my assistant, I photocopied it to produce two copies for us, and keep the original one to safety. I'll just give her this tomorrow.

---

As I have exited the underground parking lot, I got a glance of a familiar car that just parked on the street near the bus stop. It's Sabrina.

Then, I stopped to observe if what is she doing, and my eyebrows met in wonder as there is a familiar girl who went near her vehicle as she stepped out. Mia.

What does she want from my PA? Threaten her? Hmm. Maybe that is why Mia wants to resign from working for me. She could have spooked the heck out of the girl. You are not the boss. And, I am not gonna let that brownie slipped out of my hold. It's not easy to find employees that are brilliant and trustworthy.

And, when their quick conversation finished, I continue to drive to the highway and went to my destination.

---

I stretched my whole body as I just woke up when my annoying alarm clock rings, and I stepped out of bed to prepare myself for our business trip with a spice of excursion.

I'll still head back to my condo unit to pack up the things I needed, then, in the office. Well, I'll be just bringing a few things. Just two business suits and more casual clothes with some swimwear.

And, after I had breakfast with my mother, I drive to my unit, and I'll finally head to the office lobby where I would meet up with my employees who are coming with me.

"Good morning, Mr. Einar! Good day, boss!" The lobby people greeted me, and I gave them a small nod in response.

And, my gaze went to the waiting area where four people are standing there. Where is the brownie? Hmm. She better not be late. I have already told her that I hate latecomers. But anyway, it's still fifteen minutes early.

Then, the men and women greeted me as I went to them with my suitcase, and we turned our heads to the newcomer.

"Hi, Mr. Einar! Everyone, good day!" She greeted us all and we all just looked at her weirdly.

"Where the hell are you going, Maia? Are those all necessary?" I asked her in wonder as to why she got two pieces of luggage with her that don't even make mine half of hers.

"To the trip, Sir! Cruise not sail. And, yes, these are lifesavers. And, necessary as heck." She answered cheerfully, and the rest of them let out a laugh. She really has gone crazy.

"Well, since this trip is so sudden. We didn't get the time to have a meeting about it, but you all are aware of what could be our purpose in going there. It's Mr. Laurie's birthday party on the second night of us there, but we are gonna be meeting with lots of investors there, tomorrow. And, there is also a conference that we need to attend. It's a cruise that is heading to Hawaii, but we are just gonna stay there halfway on the sea. We are gonna head back with my helicopter because we can't stay there longer. We have lots of work to do back here." I explained to them who kept nodding their heads in understanding, and my PA raised her hand to ask me something.

"Should we pay for each of our tickets, sir? And... What are we gonna ride to get to the port?" She asked a thoughtful question that I haven't mentioned the answers to, yet. I am about to get there.

"The company is gonna pay for all of your expenses, and we are gonna get there using the helicopter on the rooftop," I answered, and I tried to wait for another question from any of them, but I guess I'll only get from the brownie.

"Sir, will our luggage be checked when we get there?" She asked a stupid question this time, and some of them answered her, "Yes, of course!".

"Damn, I actually got stopped from the entrance of this building because they detected something in my bags. Sir, can you tell them to spare mine and let me just have it with me in my room by then?" She let out and went near me to whisper the question that made me looked at her in skepticism.

"Why? What is in your bag that could be deadly for the guards to hold it up?" I asked her back in a whisper to make the others not hear our conversation.

"Knives and chainsaw." She answered, and I gulped while looking at her in unrest. What the hell did she just say?

"Are you being serious right now, Maia? We have no time for jokes if you are trying to make one." I asked her and asserted sternly as I am about to head to the elevator.

"I'm being serious, Mr. Einar.  Can you? Please? I really need to bring it with me anywhere. Please, it would be my first and last time to ask you a favor. I know I can win." She replied as she walked beside me to beg with her pouting lips and whispered about our deal. No, you can't win.

Well, there is nothing wrong if I'll let the guards make her baggage pass through inspection.

"Fine. But, one thing in exchange. By the time we get back here on Wednesday, cooking my meals will be included in your job specs. Deal?" I answered, and she stopped in her tracks to think about it.

"Deal." She agreed with a smirk of confidence, and she continued walking, then, she went ahead of us.

Hmm, she really thinks that she can win.
