Subdued One
It was raining the first time she saw him. Aria was running out of her apartment lobby to meet up with her shift at work and he had been running in, away from from the dreary weather. Their eyes had met, or so she thought. She had come to a sudden halt and it had taken Pete honking loudly to get her moving again, but her eyes had remained on him. His short hair and full beard was wet and the drops of water running down his face made her feel strangely jealous. She wanted to be the water. She wanted to run down his body and feel the texture of his skin.His white t-shirt clung to him, showing off a well muscled torso, at least it looked well muscled from the few seconds that Aria stared at him. He stared at her as he ran past, and that look did terrible things to her insides.She turned back to watch him run inside, and kept staring as he waved to Mitch; their security man, who was also hurrying out of the lobby. When his friends had decided to drag him out to this place, Kachi already knew that it was a bad idea. He was even more annoyed that now they were here, all they'd wanted to talk about were the latest women they were seeing, cars and other trivial things. The lights went out and she could hear the MC as he started hyping the new spender. Aria felt like her head would explode from all the noise around her. It didn't help that most of the attention tonight hadn't been on the dancers but on the guys spraying money for girls to pick and those lighting bottles of expensive alcohol. As a result, the stage had not been making money. She watched her colleagues as they made big bucks in tips for carrying caskets out and serving expensive bottles of drinks. He couldn't see much of her face, but her eyes seemed to be accentuated by the red of her mask. When Kachi stood up, Aria could swear her heart dipped. He was so tall and muscular, like someone who spent all their spare time working out. He towered over her, his eyes cold and his full lips in a straight line as he stared down at her.
