Chapter Thirty Nine

The Story

“Let me tell you a quick story Silver.” Jamal began dramatically. Pulling a chair to sit in front of Silver like he had done the last time. Silver spared him a bored expression, turning her head away from him to stare at the other side of the wall. A sign that she wasn’t interested in what he had to say. It did nothing to phase the grey eyed man though, as he merely let out a breath of air before starting.

“When I was a boy my father died and I had to move to live with his sister.” He paused letting the few words sink into Silver’s mind. The latter having already turned her head in his direction, finally granting him a listening ear.

“Although the death of my father was such a painful ordeal it became better, maybe just a little easier to bear when I moved to be with my cousin. We finally became close friends over the years, we were best friends in fact. Almost inseparable. Then one day after a fight our parents; well his parents, but at this point they were mine as well.
