I’m sorry, it was an accident. I swear it was an accident!” Silver stuttered out in fear. Rodriguez stared at the trembling girl before him, heart torn in two. Chapter 1

Chapter One

Silver

Silver looked at the massive building in front of her, the buzzing crowd around causing her ears to ring and a small headache begin to throb behind her eyelids. She never was able to deal with a lot of noise or people, and why she felt working in a bar was suitable for her, she’ll never be able to explain.

The pay was good though and at this point she just really wanted something to support herself, so she’ll deal with her phobia in silence.

Flattening down her shirt, she pushed her glasses higher up on her nose, saying hello to Erik, the giant of a bouncer that stood just outside the building, guarding the place.

She made her way into the bar. The booming sound of the music, giving her a sensation that her heart was beating in her throat, making her swallow a few times in order to adjust. No matter how many times she walked through the doors of the bar, she never got used to the scenario. She’d never understand why the music was so loud or why the people in it thought it was fun to drink until they got drunk off their faces then indulge in weird things, like making out in public or laughing obnoxiously loud.

The bar was packed full of people as always, drinking and talking, and the temperature was already causing her to break out into a sweat.

The Blue Phoenix, was the most popular bar in the area. It offered a variety of drinks and cocktails that were simply to die for.

The Elites as well as the simple college students had offers for them. It was usually always packed to the brim especially on the weekend nights like these.

Silver made her way to the back, where she could put her things in a locker meant for the employees. She put an apron around her waist, getting ready for another night waiting the tables and dealing with all forms of humans.

Her job wasn’t a fun one, she was sure of that. Sending a silent prayer that the night goes well and she didn’t have to get through any drama trying to fend off the disgusting men that were always trying to grope her when she served their tables. She pushed her bag and home keys into a locker, before closing it shut and turning the key in the lock, slipping that into her apron for safe keeping.

Silver was what could only be described as a Belle. She was one of those faces that just seemed to stick into anyone’s memory and create such a beautiful image in their minds. With Mocha colored skin thanks to her African American origins, and black curly hair with little bangs that fell to her eyes; eyes that were a striking emerald green, and although protected by her large circular frames they couldn’t be hidden at all. She was a head turner and the men always seemed to be trying to get her attention.

Silver was thankful that the manager at the Blue Phoenix was a good one and that he always kept an eye on his employees, coming to the rescue each time any group of people started to misbehave or harass her or her coworkers.

The security especially always had his eyes out for her, Erik spent a ridiculous amount of time teasing her small stature. Silver was really small compared to anybody, her friends/coworkers always tried to protect her whenever they could, so she barely had to worry about being harassed, she just didn’t enjoy the scene that came with it.

Pulling her full, curly hair into a band and out of her face she turned around and prepared to leave the room. Running into a hard wall. Silver took a step back, moving her glasses up her nose once to prevent it from falling and rubbing her head to ease the slight pain that came with the impact. She looked up to see that she had hit her coworker.

“Hi Shortie! Didn’t see you there.” Ethan said. She flashed her pearly whites at him. Hitting his arm playfully.

“Don’t call me Short. You meanie. How are you?” She laughed softly, while Ethan chuckled along with her.

“Oh! I’m alright, you know another fun night, mixing drinks, talking to strangers about their lives and watching everyone slowly get drunk. Phew! I lead such an interesting life.” Silver bursts out into laughter, her eyes crinkling slightly. Everyone knew what a dramatic Ethan could be and it was fun to be honest, watching him perform his theatrics all the time.

“Okay drama queen, you should head back out before Tom comes for your head.” Smiling lightly at him, she stretched out to pat his shoulders and walked past him, into the corridors that lead to the bar. Taking a deep breath, as the sound of the music seemed to get louder in her ears. She had no idea how anyone could really enjoy this, it felt like torture to her sensitive ears. Making her head become fuzzy from the volume of it.

Silver was a very shy person and around people that she wasn’t familiar with, she always seemed to shrink on herself, wanting to disappear in unfavorable settings. Around her friends and people that she knew though, it was a different story entirely. She became such a lively person, smiling and joking around as much as she could.

Just as she rounded the corner into the bar, a group of powerful looking men shuffled in, causing Silver’ heart to beat even faster. The bar went quiet save for the music blasting around. The men didn’t seem to notice though, it felt like this kind of attention, they were used to getting. The aura that came off the men was enough to make her weak in the knees. She never had been great at dealing with intimidating presence; and knowing that she would have to wait their table caused a small bead of sweat to start to form on her forehead. She wished this once though that Jenna wasn’t sick, she would have pleaded with all she had to make her wait the table.

She wiped her palms against her apron to rid them of sweat and took several breaths in to try and steady her racing heart. Holding the pencil and pad in her small hands even tighter she walked up to the men that had settled in the far end of the room. Away from most of the noise and attention.

Forcing her feet to work with her, she pushed her way through the tables, becoming more and more flustered the closer she got to their table. Feeling her breath and heart rate quicken. She hoped she didn’t mess up or do something stupid like stutter or mess up the order. She could see the men having a conversation that her little ears couldn’t quite grab. Clearing her throat slightly she said in a small voice. “Hi, my name is Silver. I’ll be your waitress for today. What can I get for you?”

Silver was surprised at how her voice barely shook. Thankful too. It took a lot of composure on her end though because these men before her, she could just tell that they weren’t to be messed with. She kept her head slightly bowed in submission refusing to meet any of their eyes. Their presence commanding all forms of respect from her.

One of the men raised his head slightly, taking a moment to take her appearance in, he hummed softly in appreciation and addressed her with a deep voice. “Bring us tonight’s special.” He replied her curtly, turning his attention back to the conversation at the table.

Silver hurried away, thankful that she was away from the suffocating presence of the men. Each of the men stood at 6’2 the least. Making them all stand a good foot over her tiny frame. They could snap her into two if they wished. The thought alone did nothing to calm her already racing heart. While Ethan prepared the drinks, she couldn’t help but watch the men and notice how immersed they seemed to be in their conversation. One of the men in particular stood out to Silver. There seemed to be a lot of power pouring out of him and it made Silver shiver lightly. His handsome features though seemed to draw her in, and when he turned his head in her direction, the ocean blue of his eyes caused her to release a soft gasp.

Chapter Two
The DriveSilver pushed past the tables, struggling to balance the drinks in her hands, and careful to not trip on her own foot. She could see that the man that had made the order for the group, already had his eyes on her and that made her shiver in fear. His lingering gaze too piercing for comfort. Silver couldn’t read the expressions that danced through his face and that made it even harder for her to bear. Not knowing what he was thinking about caused her chest to hurt. She placed the tray of drinks carefully on the table, sinking in on herself as a couple other members of the group raised their head to acknowledge her. She noticed though, how the powerful man with beautiful blue eyes that she had been looking at earlier, kept typing furiously on his phone and didn’t bother to acknowledge her, not even for a second. “Your drinks, sir.” She said in a voice barely above a whisper, scared that if she spoke louder, she might be punished for it. They looked like the kind of people to

Chapter Three
Missing Flash drive“What do you mean you lost it?” Rodriguez roared in rage at Jared. The other man taking a step back, looking at the table that stood between himself and Rodriguez wondering if it was enough to shield him from the older guy’s wrath. “I thought I put it back into the brief last night but it seems I didn’t.” Jared replied, doing his best to sound like he wasn’t shaken to the very core by the anger that poured out of Rodriguez in waves. He knew all too well what happened when his boss lost his temper. No one wanted to be at the receiving end of Rodriguez wrath. Taking another step back, to put even more distance between himself and the fuming Rodriguez, like that would help the situation. He cleared his throat once, twice, before facing Rodriguez once more. Pleading for mercy with his eyes. “I had a couple of our men try to retrace our steps from the last time we saw it at the bar till we got back to the house, and there was nothing.” He replied scratching lightly at

Chapter Four
Stalking HerAs he sat in his car, watching, waiting. He tapped an impatient finger on the wheel in front of him, waiting for her. A sadistic smile spreading on his lips at the though of how much torture he was about to dish. This one will be a good one, he could just feel it. Silver shook her head at her obviously wrong decision to drive, the entire parking lot was filled and she could just guess how packed the mall would be at this time. She sighed defeatedly, regretting why she had even agreed to meet Elina here. While her best friend was the outgoing, extroverted, and loud between them, she was the complete opposite, shying away from crowds, noise and the lot. Sighing once more she backed her car into the street and parked close to the end of it, grumbling to herself about how she’d have to walk the long distance to and from the mall. She checked her image in the mirror once before finally exiting her car, locking the doors behind her and tucking her keys into her bag. A sudden

Chapter Five
The Phone Calls Silver and Elina finished their food, making their way out of the diner and back into the mall, holding hands like typical female best friends“Thank you for paying, you didn’t have to.” Silver said quietly to Elina. “Oh come on! It’s my treat, besides I invited you.”Elina replied, in her ever cheerful voice. “Now let’s go shopping! Come on!” She quirked pulling Silver with more force than required. Silver wasn’t difficult to pull in the first place, she was as light as a feather. “I don’t really need anything.” Silver shrugged, chewing on her bottom lip. Elina scoffed in response, rolling her eyes and shaking her head. “You’re a girl honey, you always need something.” She dragged Silver into the nearest store, eyeing up the different clothing, as she traced her fingers along the different dresses, studying them, eyes shining with excitement.“This one here, this is nice. Goes with your sweet brown skin.” Announced Elina, holding up a pretty yellow summer dress,

Chapter Six
Living in FearRodriguez sat in his office, tapping his fingers on the closed MacBook in front of him. He flexed his fingers, the urge to strangle something or someone was overwhelming. Huffing in annoyance he squeezed his eyes shut to try and get his dark urges under control. He had worked tirelessly for the information that he had gotten. Putting his life on the line, betraying alliances; this one he was sure would come back to bite his ass, but having the complete operation had been a sure way to calm them. Knowing that some things had been done for the greater good of all was the only thing that had been needed to restore peace, but he didn’t have that anymore. Things were about to fall apart for him, and he’d be damned if he let that happen. Swiveling in his chair, he faced the floor to ceiling windows. That had been the best addition to his office. Something about being able to watch the world around you without being watched gave him a surge of power. He enjoyed that sort of t

KidnappedSilver took a sweep of her room once more, checking for clues other than the missing drive that there had been another person in her room. And not a single thing looked out of place, even her laptop sat in the exact spot that she left it.Tears pricked at her eyes and her plump lips wobbled in utter desolation as she it dawned on her, just how much of her little world was falling apart in the space of one day. Had it been the flash drive all along? Was it the Russian men after her? The man at the mall, was he a part of their group? She didn’t recognize him as one of the men she had seen a night before though, so maybe he was sent by them? She picked her favorite teddy from the bed, it was a small bear that had once been white but had faded with wash and time, it had being a gift from a special person in her past. The little brown eyes of her bear brought back memories that she didn’t want to indulge at the moment, not with the chaos happening around her. Meeting the Mafia DonRodriguez stared at the tiny figure in front of him, and he couldn’t understand for the life of him the conflicting thoughts that ran through his mind. For the last couple of days all that had mattered to him was finding the Drive and torturing the person who had taken it till death.Right now all that will and contempt had gone out the window the moment that he had set his eyes on the girl. He still didn’t have the Drive and that just drove him insane, but Silver had been the last one to be seen with it and he had her, but for some goddamn reason he couldn’t find it in himself to lay a finger on her. Not when she looked so vulnerable, pure and innocent. Instead he stood across the room from where she sat, tied to her chair and watched her sleep.Silver felt the headache first, wincing at the discomfort that came with it. She felt stiff, like she had been sitting in a spot for days. Her entire body burned from the pain. She tried to open her eyes, but it felt dif

Becoming A Slave“Boss?” Rodriguez was snapped out of his reverie by the sound of Jared’s voice. His second in command had come into his office with some business details that he had to attend to and in the middle of his droning on about how important some of the details were, his mind had slipped back to the young girl, tied in the room downstairs. Silver. He couldn’t get the image of her wobbling lips, shining eyes and her little tongue out of his mind and it drove him mad. He had requested that she be moved from the chair to a more comfortable mattress on the floor and that she be fed twice daily. He wasn’t quite sure about what to do with her, but letting her go wasn’t an option he was considering at all.“That girl Jared, what do you suggest I do to her? She obviously doesn’t have the Drive anymore, do you advice I let her go?” Rodriguez asked his second in command, looking to the younger man with pleading eyes, it almost felt like he was trying to plead with Jared to solve this

A New LifeSilver was slowly adjusting to her life in the empire. Serving Rodriguez. It wasn’t a difficult job to be honest. There were more than enough maids in the house that took care of a lot of things and all she had to do was present them to him, or clean them. The past one week had been more than awful, and although she had to be serving him, she usually did her best to avoid contact with him, keeping interactions to the barest minimum. She would wait till he left for the office before she would go to clean his room and so on. Silver hated having her freedom taken away, Although she could see the light shining outside the windows during the day, she wasn’t allowed to step a foot out not even to feel the sun on her skin. And it upset her more than she could express. She missed her life, missed her friends especially Elina, she missed working at the bar. Which surprised her as she really didn’t enjoy her job that much, but the absence of it made her crave it, the normalcy that ca
