Everything about last night has me thinking, ‘I can’t believe I did that!’

The sense of relief I have as soon as I spot Dereck inside my bedroom and not Cedric is substantial. He seems to have just woken up and is still half-naked beside the bed. I blush heavily, recalling what happened last night, and turn around to give him some privacy.“S-sorry!” I quickly utter in order to not be rude. I probably should have knocked first, but oh well. I’m so relieved that Dereck hasn’t betrayed me, and that if I change my mind, then he’ll get me out of here. Though now I’m wondering if this had never happened, would he have continued to plot an escape and drag me out until I admitted the truth?I suppose I’m glad it happened this way. Now I don’t have to give him any awkward reasons on why I don’t want to hurt Cedric or leave him. Though I still don’t understand why I feel this way at all. Dereck didn’t explain it to me, though I guess if I don’t know the answer, then how can I expect anyone else to understand it?I make my way downstairs in search of a certain alpha male. It doesn’t take much to locate him as the squeals of girls alert me to his location fairly easily. As I enter the hall, I can see they have started to clean up after last night’s party. So many sets of eyes peer at me from around the room. It’s enough to make me feel rather subconscious. Being pinned against the wall by my mate surprised me at first. I never thought he would ever get the best of me. Yet he manoeuvred out of my reach at just the right moment to turn the tables. As I pass the warriors and scouts returning to the meeting, I ignore their strange looks cast towards me. My mind is far too focused on my own actions and emotions. The meeting lasts for what seems like hours. It surprised Dereck when I told him what Cedric was planning, but he agreed it would be a good chance to prove himself to Cedric and gain his respect, as well as a better position in the pack.I’m sure he would do well as Cedric’s beta.
