“Max!” Byron continued to yell at the Kraken that was treating the water as its fishing spot as it scoped up shark after shark. So far, it had caught three that it was raising in the air as if it was playing with it. “Don’t you dare put them in your mouth!” Byron ordered and the Kraken paused. It’s reptilian eyes turned and studied its master before it dropped the sharks down none too gently from the same height that it was carrying them.
And then, Byron pointed a finger at him. “Good. Now it is time for you to go back before any of the surface dwellers sees you.”
There was a sound that resembled a protest coming from Max when Byron told him to go home. “I don’t want to hear any excuses, Max. Go back. Now.” Byron said firmly. All of us were looking at the exchange closely as Skyr drove the
“Hey.” I greeted Skyr as soon as I saw him by the bridge of a pond. He was just there leaning on the railing and looking at the pond in concentration. When he heard my voice, he immediately looked up and smiled. “You made it.” He said and moved a little bit to the side in order to make some room for me. I leaned on the railing at the space beside him and watched as he kept staring at the water with a solemn look on his face.“Gen...I mean, Skyr?”“Hm?”“What’s wrong?” I asked. He did not answer. Instead, his eyebrows drew closer and his mouth formed into a thin line. He gripped his hands in front of him tightly to stop them from shaking. “Is this about what happened earlier? With Falco?” I gues
“Hey. Eyes on me, Nat!” Rachel was clicking her hands in front of my face as I continued to stare at an empty space.I couldn’t help it. I was too busy worrying about...EVERYTHING!Even though it has been a week already, I was busy wondering when I would meet Trei again. Busy thinking about Skyr’s departure and, most of all busy thinking about these estranged powers that I seem to have.I shook my head and the thought away so I could focus on the task at hand. “Right. Sorry.” I mumbled. “I didn’t get much sleep last night. I was...stressed.”Rachel and I were walking in the marketplace to find some new gears to customize her new handgun. Well not exactly a gear, but for a program update. I never knew that guns could b
I started to head towards the direction of the shop when an alarm from my cuff stopped me. It was blazing red. Meaning it was an urgent call from our general.Rachel saw it too and winced. “Aw man. Now of all times.” She sighed, to which I offered her an apologetic look as I would no longer be able to accompany her on her shopping.“Sorry.” I told her.“iIt’s fine. I understand that There’s nothing we can do about it.” She told me with a grin. “After all, what we are doing is saving lives. Go on before you’re late.”I nodded at her before running back to the main sector.****“Sorry
I do believe that we just jinxed the difficulty of our mission. I mean, what are the odds that we were able to meet Liv here?“Run run run!” Byron yelled as he pushed me towards the tube that connects this sub to our sub. We were already halfway there when the ship began to shake uncontrollably, making us fall to the ground and skid sideways. When we looked back, the leviathan had the submarine in its mouth and was shaking it uncontrollably with us along with it.“Nathalia, Byron!” Byron and I looked up to see that Skyr was there by the entrance of the tube and threw a rope at us. We grabbed the rope and allowed Skyr to pull us towards him just before Liv managed to tear the ship into two. I gulped as I imagined what would have happened if Skyr had not pulled us away just in time.
“Give them some space.” Falco says as he ordered the others, who were all starting to crowd us as soon as we returned to the sub. We were all silent as they gave us a towel to dry our hairs.“Falco, drive us back to Atlantis.” Skyr ordered him as he ruffled his hair with the towel before setting it to hang over his shoulders. I did the same but more gently. “Can you all give us a minute while we rest in the other room?” Skyr says as he got up and gave both Byron and I a look. He doesn’t even need to say anything as we can already tell what he wanted us to do.Byron and I gave each other one last look before we got up as well. For some reason, my body wasn’t really feeling well that my knees started shaking. I don’t know if it is from shock or the fact that I am too nervous by what Skyr wanted to
And there it was. I wasn't even surprised about that revelation. Well maybe a little because it was hard to believe since I grew up without a sibling. The only kid I remember growing up with me is Trei and even he was a little bit on the frenemy side.“Twins...twins you say.” Byron was staring at the ground, stunned as he said the words out loud.“This is-” I started to try and speak my mind, but Colt raised a hand to stop me.“If we want to further discuss this topic, we need to go elsewhere. Lord Byron, care to share your secret spot? Like the one in the lake?”“How did you-”“I said that if you want to ask more, we have to go somewhere secure.” The t
“You’re lying.” It was all that Skyr could say given the current information that he has to bear.“Am I? Are you really following orders blindly and not even stopping to think whether or not what you’re doing is right?” Trei spat the words back at him.“We are saving lives!”“You are bringing them closer to their doom!” He yelled. “Have you ever wondered why you don’t see most of the people you rescued? Why does Atlantis never get overpopulated? You’re a general. Do some investigating yourself.”“Trei.” It was my turn to speak. “Do you have any evidence that can support this? For all our sakes. Well...for all our sanity to be honest.” I
Skyr agreed to give me a time off for myself, considering what transpired yesterday. I was about to be grateful for it if he didn’t mention a make-up exercise regimen. It’s amazing how he can be considerate and strict at the same time.My plan for the entire day was supposed to be spent recuperating. Unfortunately, my supposedly twin decided that it was a day for us to bond. He literally used his high status to override the locks from my pod to come and woke me up from my sleep just to insist on visiting Fifi.Trust me, the demigod was hard to ignore especially when he could control water and threatened to dump it all over my face if I continued to ignore him. I threw the covers away and glared at him after rubbing sleep off of my eyes.It hasn’t been 24 hours since I gained a s
