ROWAN'S POV

“Who the fuck does he think he is? What does he have that I don't?” Adrian threw the ball in the basketball court at the window, making the glass shatter into a million pieces.

I didn't flinch as I watched him pace around the court. He has been pissed off since the morning assembly. Selena ignoring him to talk to Elias really hurt his pride and my brother doesn't like getting his pride hurt.

“He's Elias Thorne from Silverhaven Pack, You know, the perfect Alpha,” Jared, my brother's best friend and the Beta Heir of Crescent Pack said as he sat next to me.

It was a rumour across all Packs that the Silverhaven Alpha heir was perfect in every way. He's strong, dominant, fast and smart. Oh, I forgot to mention that he is also very good looking too.

Seeing in the room shirtless was one of the hottest sights I've seen and I would be crazy to deny that.

He said to have gone through the most intense Alpha's training. Coming to Mortlach Academy was probably a way of his father to show off his heir to the others and keeping their legacy as the strongest Pack.

“What makes him so perfect? I can literally do anything he can do.” Adrian continued.

I lifted my head from my phone. “Why don't you prove that at the opening match tomorrow?”

He paused and turned to me. “That's a good idea. I'm going to make sure I crush his team into dust so that Selena would see that he's nothing compared to me.”

“It might not be that easy though.” I stood up from the bench and walked toward him with my hands shoved in my pocket.

“What the hell do you mean?” His face became red with anger. “Are you saying I'm not strong enough to beat Elias?”

“It's not that, it's because I'm going to be on the same team as him.” I announced.

“You don't know that yet,” Jared interrupted. “Only roommates are fixed to be on the same team. The staff assign everyone to different teams, so you don't know if you will be on Elias’s team.”

I remained quiet and kept staring at Adrian until his eyes widened in realisation. “He's your roommate?”

“Yeah.” I shrugged. “We requested for a change this morning but they refused.”

“That sucks.” Jared shook his head. “I can't imagine being paired with a Silverhaven brat, not to talk of the “Perfect” one.” He air quoted the word Perfect.

Adrian turned away and walked back and forth while stroking his chin. Jared and I watched in silence, awaiting his response.

“This could work in our favour,” Adrain suddenly said and stopped in front of me. “You can easily get access to him and get any information about him.”

I raised my eyebrows at Adrian when I got what he was insinuating. I was never the one to play dirty games and I won't start now.

“If you are trying to tell him to spy on him, my answer is no.” I turned to walk out of the basketball court.

“Even if the future of the Crescent pack is depending on it?” Adrian's voice stopped me and I swerve my head to look at him.

I was more confused than curious by his statement because I was 200% sure that Adrian only wants to defeat Elias out of pride and it has nothing to do with the pack's future. So what was he driving at?

“The future of the Pack? How does Elias affect the future of our Pack?” I furrowed my eyebrows.

“Because he is an heir of Silverhaven Pack, and they are the biggest enemy to Crescent pack.” He moved closer and held my shoulder. “You know it has been our father's dream to destroy Silverhaven because of what they did to us 30 years ago. We can help him achieve that dream through Elias. Think about it.”

He was right. Silverhaven had made our people suffer 30 years ago. The fall of Elias Thorne is the fall of the entire Thorne family and the Silverhaven Pack.

Looking into my brother's eyes, all I could was pride and jealousy for Elias. But then, if he manages to get Selena as his mate, it will be a great advantage in taking over Silverhaven Pack.

“Fine.” I took a deep breath. “But on one condition, you are going to let me do things my own way.”

His smile widened. “That won't be a problem. As long as I have something to make the Perfect Alpha unfit to be an Alpha by the end of the session.”

“Trust me, you'll get it,” I answered with the zeal and determination burning in me.

“That's settled then.” He laughed out loud. “See you on the field tomorrow. May the best team win.” He walked out of the basketball court, leaving me to my thoughts.

‘Are we really doing this?’ Louis, my wolf asked.

“Yes, we are,” I responded. “It's high time Silverhaven suffered for what they did to us.”

I could feel the anger burning in my bones as I recalled the stories my father told us of what the Silverhaven did to our pack.

Elias Thorne, your people have to pay for their crimes and you have to go down for it to happen.

After completing the registration of all my classes, I went back to the dorm to see Elias sitting on his desk with his laptop open in front of him.

He glanced at me before turning back to focus on whatever he was doing on the laptop.

I was about to lay on my bed when an idea popped in my head. I cleared my throat to get Elias attention as I walked closer to him.

“Can we talk for a minute?” I asked as I perched on the edge of his desk.

He raised his eyebrows at me before nodding and folding his hand. “I'm all ears.”

“I know we both don't like being roommates but it's something we can't change, so I was hoping we just put aside our Pack differences and try to get along.”

His face scrunched in confusion. “Why? I thought you guys hated us.”

“I'm just not the type to hold a grudge over something that happened years before I was born and besides both Packs have agreed to live in peace, there's no point hating each other over something that we didn't even know about,” I continued and he nodded in understanding.

I could tell that I was starting to get to him.

“it's good to know that you think that way.”

“So are we good?” I stretched my hand out to him and he stared at it for a while before he eventually took it.

Our eyes locked as we stared at each other like we were trying to figure each other out. I could see in his eyes that he doesn't trust me completely which was understandable but I planned to change that soon.

In a split second, his face began to turn red as he quickly removed his hand from mine like it was burning him.

He stood up and turned towards the restroom but I grabbed his hand to stop him.

“Are you okay? You look unwell.”

He shook my hand off almost instantly. “I'm fine,” he replied and rushed into the bathroom.

What was that?

ELIAS'S POVThe moment Tyler said Leo’s name, Rowan was already on his feet, yanking the door open so hard it slammed against the wall.“Where is he?” Rowan demanded, his tone sharp and colder than I’d ever heard it.Tyler looked shaken. “Back of the dorm, near the storage sheds. His brothers dragged him there a few minutes ago.”“His brothers?” Rowan furrowed his eyebrows as he clenched his fingers into a fist. “Those pieces of shit.”Rowan didn’t wait another second. He brushed past Tyler and bolted down the hallway. I exchanged a quick glance with Tyler before we both ran after him.By the time we reached the back of the dorms, I could hear laughter and a soft voice whimpering in pain.Leo was on the ground, his clothes rumpled, and his face was red, not from crying, but from trying desperately not to. Standing over him were two tall guys who I concluded they were his brothers. But what I didn't understand was why they were treating their brother that way.One of them shoved Leo ba

ELIAS'S POV“You keep saying you are fine, but it's pretty obvious that you aren't,” Rowan said as he sat at the edge of my bed.I lay upside down, looking up at the ceiling as I tried to imagine my father's disappointed face and Galvin’s mocking look when they found out that I was an Omega. It didn't even help matters that I wasn't just any type of Omega but Apex Omega who are considered enemies to the werewolf society. My father had the highest authority and power among all Alphas. Would he really watch me get killed?‘Your father is a man who cares about his reputation more than anything else,” Carlos reminded me. ‘We can't predict what he would do to protect his precious image.’“Elias, come on.” Rowan shook me. “This is starting to get annoying.”I sighed and sat up. “I told you I'm fine.”“Yes, and fishes fly,” he replied, and I rolled my eyes at him. He brought his hand up to caress the left side of my face as his eyes held so much worry and concern. “You can talk to me, Elias

ELIAS’S POV The bell rang across the academy, signalling everyone to assemble, and within minutes every student was gathered into the Great Assembly Hall. The room buzzed with low conversations, tension crackling in the air like static. No one laughed. No one joked. Everyone could still feel the echo of last night’s attack clinging to their skin. I stood with my pack near the front, my arms crossed as my eyes scanned the hall. Pack leaders, Council members and Guard from the big Six packs were surrounding the hall, watching us with keen eyes. That wasn't normal. My Father, Alpha Killian, stepped onto the raised platform beside the Council Head, his presence alone enough to silence the entire hall. His aura rolled outward, calm, controlled and reassuring. “The situation has been handled,” Alpha Killian announced, his voice steady and authoritative. “There is no immediate threat to the academy.” A ripple of relieved murmurs spread through the hall. But obviously, I didn't buy i

ELIAS’S POVAs our parents were ushered into the conference wing, Jared came over and tapped my shoulder. “We are having a meeting,” he said quietly.I didn’t hesitate. Anything was better than standing around Galvin, pretending his presence didn’t crawl under my skin. I nodded and followed Jared, feeling the tension in my shoulders ease just a fraction with every step away from Galvin. We didn't use the SU meeting room this time, the others were already waiting for me at a corner besides the school building. Some of the students could see us but they were not close enough to hear what we were talking about.Gabriel stood at the center as we formed a semi-circle around me. “Last night wasn’t normal. We all felt it. So the question is. what do we do now?”Liana folded her arms and said in a calm and firm tone. “I say we don’t do anything reckless. Our parents and the Council are handling this. None of our training prepared us for enemies that don’t behave like rogues or pack wolves. J

ELIAS’S POVOf course, I didn’t take his hand. My father might have been so forgiving to let him return, but I was the one who experienced the terrible ordeal, and I wasn't ready to forgive.I stepped back as I glared at him and turned away from Galvin without another word. Whatever apology he thought would erase the memory of his claws around my throat was nothing but arrogance dressed as remorse.“Elias…” he called after me, but I didn't respond. I walked out of the café without looking back. The cool morning air hit my face as I exhaled sharply, trying to steady the storm inside my chest. My wolf paced restlessly beneath my skin, uneasy and alert. Galvin’s presence alone felt like a reopened wound, one that had never truly healed.I mindlinked Jace and Lucan as I headed out of the school building.‘Where are you guys?’‘On our way to the school front yard,’ Lucan replied almost immediately. ‘Everyone’s gathering there.’‘Okay. I’ll meet you there.’Footsteps followed me, and I did

ELIAS'S POVELEVEN YEARS LATERThe moon had been high that night, casting long shadows across the forest behind the pack estate.I was only ten years old when my mother was still hovering over me and watching every move I made because she was scared that my secret would be exposed. I understood her but I still hated that she took away my freedom. My 18 year old cousin Galvin came to me like a Knight in shiny armor and offered to take me out to see the forest and bring me back without my mother realizing.“Are you sure we won't get caught?” I asked as I jumped down from the highwall of my father's house.“Trust me, I'm an expert in things like this,” Galvin assured me. “Luna will never find out.”I had the best fun of my life exploring the forest and feeling the crunch of leaves beneath my feet. It was later that I realised that we had wandered off farther than we should have.“Galvin, I think we should go back.”“Why are you in a rush little cousin?” He stopped and slowly turned to m
