LOGINROWAN'S POV
“Who the fuck does he think he is? What does he have that I don't?” Adrian threw the ball in the basketball court at the window, making the glass shatter into a million pieces. I didn't flinch as I watched him pace around the court. He has been pissed off since the morning assembly. Selena ignoring him to talk to Elias really hurt his pride and my brother doesn't like getting his pride hurt. “He's Elias Thorne from Silverhaven Pack, You know, the perfect Alpha,” Jared, my brother's best friend and the Beta Heir of Crescent Pack said as he sat next to me. It was a rumour across all Packs that the Silverhaven Alpha heir was perfect in every way. He's strong, dominant, fast and smart. Oh, I forgot to mention that he is also very good looking too. Seeing in the room shirtless was one of the hottest sights I've seen and I would be crazy to deny that. He said to have gone through the most intense Alpha's training. Coming to Mortlach Academy was probably a way of his father to show off his heir to the others and keeping their legacy as the strongest Pack. “What makes him so perfect? I can literally do anything he can do.” Adrian continued. I lifted my head from my phone. “Why don't you prove that at the opening match tomorrow?” He paused and turned to me. “That's a good idea. I'm going to make sure I crush his team into dust so that Selena would see that he's nothing compared to me.” “It might not be that easy though.” I stood up from the bench and walked toward him with my hands shoved in my pocket. “What the hell do you mean?” His face became red with anger. “Are you saying I'm not strong enough to beat Elias?” “It's not that, it's because I'm going to be on the same team as him.” I announced. “You don't know that yet,” Jared interrupted. “Only roommates are fixed to be on the same team. The staff assign everyone to different teams, so you don't know if you will be on Elias’s team.” I remained quiet and kept staring at Adrian until his eyes widened in realisation. “He's your roommate?” “Yeah.” I shrugged. “We requested for a change this morning but they refused.” “That sucks.” Jared shook his head. “I can't imagine being paired with a Silverhaven brat, not to talk of the “Perfect” one.” He air quoted the word Perfect. Adrian turned away and walked back and forth while stroking his chin. Jared and I watched in silence, awaiting his response. “This could work in our favour,” Adrain suddenly said and stopped in front of me. “You can easily get access to him and get any information about him.” I raised my eyebrows at Adrian when I got what he was insinuating. I was never the one to play dirty games and I won't start now. “If you are trying to tell him to spy on him, my answer is no.” I turned to walk out of the basketball court. “Even if the future of the Crescent pack is depending on it?” Adrian's voice stopped me and I swerve my head to look at him. I was more confused than curious by his statement because I was 200% sure that Adrian only wants to defeat Elias out of pride and it has nothing to do with the pack's future. So what was he driving at? “The future of the Pack? How does Elias affect the future of our Pack?” I furrowed my eyebrows. “Because he is an heir of Silverhaven Pack, and they are the biggest enemy to Crescent pack.” He moved closer and held my shoulder. “You know it has been our father's dream to destroy Silverhaven because of what they did to us 30 years ago. We can help him achieve that dream through Elias. Think about it.” He was right. Silverhaven had made our people suffer 30 years ago. The fall of Elias Thorne is the fall of the entire Thorne family and the Silverhaven Pack. Looking into my brother's eyes, all I could was pride and jealousy for Elias. But then, if he manages to get Selena as his mate, it will be a great advantage in taking over Silverhaven Pack. “Fine.” I took a deep breath. “But on one condition, you are going to let me do things my own way.” His smile widened. “That won't be a problem. As long as I have something to make the Perfect Alpha unfit to be an Alpha by the end of the session.” “Trust me, you'll get it,” I answered with the zeal and determination burning in me. “That's settled then.” He laughed out loud. “See you on the field tomorrow. May the best team win.” He walked out of the basketball court, leaving me to my thoughts. ‘Are we really doing this?’ Louis, my wolf asked. “Yes, we are,” I responded. “It's high time Silverhaven suffered for what they did to us.” I could feel the anger burning in my bones as I recalled the stories my father told us of what the Silverhaven did to our pack. Elias Thorne, your people have to pay for their crimes and you have to go down for it to happen. After completing the registration of all my classes, I went back to the dorm to see Elias sitting on his desk with his laptop open in front of him. He glanced at me before turning back to focus on whatever he was doing on the laptop. I was about to lay on my bed when an idea popped in my head. I cleared my throat to get Elias attention as I walked closer to him. “Can we talk for a minute?” I asked as I perched on the edge of his desk. He raised his eyebrows at me before nodding and folding his hand. “I'm all ears.” “I know we both don't like being roommates but it's something we can't change, so I was hoping we just put aside our Pack differences and try to get along.” His face scrunched in confusion. “Why? I thought you guys hated us.” “I'm just not the type to hold a grudge over something that happened years before I was born and besides both Packs have agreed to live in peace, there's no point hating each other over something that we didn't even know about,” I continued and he nodded in understanding. I could tell that I was starting to get to him. “it's good to know that you think that way.” “So are we good?” I stretched my hand out to him and he stared at it for a while before he eventually took it. Our eyes locked as we stared at each other like we were trying to figure each other out. I could see in his eyes that he doesn't trust me completely which was understandable but I planned to change that soon. In a split second, his face began to turn red as he quickly removed his hand from mine like it was burning him. He stood up and turned towards the restroom but I grabbed his hand to stop him. “Are you okay? You look unwell.” He shook my hand off almost instantly. “I'm fine,” he replied and rushed into the bathroom. What was that?ELIAS’S POVI knocked once before entering my father’s study. He was standing by the window with his hands clasped behind his back, staring out at the training grounds below. The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the room, but his posture was relaxed.“Father,” I said.He turned and walked to sit behind his desk. “You look like you have news.”“I do.” I inhaled. “Rowan, Gabriel, and Gabriella are coming to Silverhaven. They plan to represent their Packs and formally seek peace.”For a moment, he said nothing. Then, to my surprise, a slow smirk curved his lips.“So,” he said calmly, “they finally got some sense.”I frowned slightly. “You’re not surprised that they are coming all the way here?”“Not at all,” he replied. “An alliance between Silverhaven and Moon Hollow was bound to unsettle them. Crescent Pack has always relied on intimidating their opponents. They already noticed that it was going to work, hence the peace talk.” He chuckled.“So what are you going to do?” I as
ROWAN’S POV It had been a week since Gabriella woke up and since the truth behind Elias’s failed presentation had been dragged into the open and paraded before every pack who were planning to use that against Alpha Killian.Elias wouldn't stop thanking me for being his Knight in a shiny fur and saving him from a lifetime humiliation. That morning, Gabriella sent a message that she, Gabriel, and her father would be arriving at Crescent Pack the following day.I didn’t want Adrian to be around because of the purpose of the meeting, knowing fully well that he would kick against it and only make things difficult. So I did the only sensible thing that I could think of. I went to Gamma Caleb. His private residence was quiet when I arrived, the kind of quiet that came from power being exercised behind closed doors. He was already expecting me since I had texted him beforehand about my visit. He was sitting by the window with a cup of tea like he had no worries.“You’re earlier than expecte
ELIAS’S POV “You have been awake for three weeks?” My eyes widened in surprise. “Why didn’t anyone say anything?”“My parents wanted me to fully recover before letting anyone know,” She replied as she sat up on her bed.“I'm so sorry you had to go through that because of me. if only..” I started, but she cut me off.“Elias, stop that,” she ordered with her Alpha tone. “This is not your fault. Selena was just crazily obsessed and lost her mind. I'm glad you found someone better as your mate.”I smiled and nodded.“So how did the investigation go?” Rowan asked, changing the topic. “Did the Priestess confess to it?”I sighed in relief with a huge smile on my face. “Yes, she did. My parents are going to be holding a press conference soon, and the offenders will be banished.”“Thank God.” Gabriella breathed out in relief. “I was really worried about you.”There was a stretched silence between us as we all stared at each other.“You still haven't told us the reason why you requested this c
ROWAN’S POV Breakfast was going smoothly as usual and I was checking my phone every minute to get any update from Elias.I felt a little bad that I lied to Elias about how I actually got the recording but it was something he didn't need to know.“Rowan, you have been leaving the Mansion and pack too often,” My mom started. “You are on your break, you should be resting.”“It has to do with the well being of the pack, so it's important that I go,” I replied.“That's your brother's job. He's the future Alpha of Crescent Pack, he should be the one worrying about the well being of the pack, all you have to do is support him,” she reminded for the 100th time.I nodded because there was no point arguing. That was something she has been driving in my skull since I was old enough to understand what it meant. No matter what, I love my mother unconditionally because I understand what she was trying to do. She loved us both equally but she thought it was only right that Adrian should be the next
ELIAS’S POV I froze at the sound of the familiar voice, and then I realised there was no point in hiding anymore. I stood up slowly and met his intimidating stares. My head automatically bowed at his domineering aura.“Father.”He held his hands behind his back. “Did you really think I wouldn't sense you? You are my flesh and blood who grew up under my watch. I can sense you from miles away.” He was right. I should have known that I couldn't hide from him when I was in the palace or anywhere close to him.“I'm sorry.” I bowed again. “I was just too ashamed to face you.” “Then why did you come back?” He asked, and I glanced up to look at him while my brain was spinning, searching for the perfect excuse. Then something immediately popped into my head. “My mother. I came to see her,” I lied smoothly as I tried to steady my heartbeat, so he wouldn't notice. “I was worried that she would be disappointed and sad.”“She definitely is.” He nodded and stepped closer. “Your mother's room is
ELIAS’S POV The moment Kael’s voice rang through the conference room, I could feel the tension in the air from where I was standing in the other room. There was murmuring in the room and I heard people asking who he was and why he had an aura scent.“Who the hell are you?” Alpha Killian’s voice thundered, “How dare you barge into my conference room uninvited?”“My Alpha…” Kael started.“I did not give you permission to speak,” my father snapped. “You smell like a warrior. I know all the warriors in this pack. Which pack are you from? Are you a spy?”There was a complete silence as everyone was waiting for Kael’s answer. He didn’t respond and I heard my father's voice thundered in the room.“Seize him and lock him up until he talks.”The door was pushed open and warriors rushed in. “Shit,” I muttered underneath my breath as I tried to think of a way out for Kael and Thea but I was blank.“Stop.” The Head Warrior's voice made me freeze and I could tell everyone in that room too did.“A
