LOGINROWAN'S POV
“Who the fuck does he think he is? What does he have that I don't?” Adrian threw the ball in the basketball court at the window, making the glass shatter into a million pieces. I didn't flinch as I watched him pace around the court. He has been pissed off since the morning assembly. Selena ignoring him to talk to Elias really hurt his pride and my brother doesn't like getting his pride hurt. “He's Elias Thorne from Silverhaven Pack, You know, the perfect Alpha,” Jared, my brother's best friend and the Beta Heir of Crescent Pack said as he sat next to me. It was a rumour across all Packs that the Silverhaven Alpha heir was perfect in every way. He's strong, dominant, fast and smart. Oh, I forgot to mention that he is also very good looking too. Seeing in the room shirtless was one of the hottest sights I've seen and I would be crazy to deny that. He said to have gone through the most intense Alpha's training. Coming to Mortlach Academy was probably a way of his father to show off his heir to the others and keeping their legacy as the strongest Pack. “What makes him so perfect? I can literally do anything he can do.” Adrian continued. I lifted my head from my phone. “Why don't you prove that at the opening match tomorrow?” He paused and turned to me. “That's a good idea. I'm going to make sure I crush his team into dust so that Selena would see that he's nothing compared to me.” “It might not be that easy though.” I stood up from the bench and walked toward him with my hands shoved in my pocket. “What the hell do you mean?” His face became red with anger. “Are you saying I'm not strong enough to beat Elias?” “It's not that, it's because I'm going to be on the same team as him.” I announced. “You don't know that yet,” Jared interrupted. “Only roommates are fixed to be on the same team. The staff assign everyone to different teams, so you don't know if you will be on Elias’s team.” I remained quiet and kept staring at Adrian until his eyes widened in realisation. “He's your roommate?” “Yeah.” I shrugged. “We requested for a change this morning but they refused.” “That sucks.” Jared shook his head. “I can't imagine being paired with a Silverhaven brat, not to talk of the “Perfect” one.” He air quoted the word Perfect. Adrian turned away and walked back and forth while stroking his chin. Jared and I watched in silence, awaiting his response. “This could work in our favour,” Adrain suddenly said and stopped in front of me. “You can easily get access to him and get any information about him.” I raised my eyebrows at Adrian when I got what he was insinuating. I was never the one to play dirty games and I won't start now. “If you are trying to tell him to spy on him, my answer is no.” I turned to walk out of the basketball court. “Even if the future of the Crescent pack is depending on it?” Adrian's voice stopped me and I swerve my head to look at him. I was more confused than curious by his statement because I was 200% sure that Adrian only wants to defeat Elias out of pride and it has nothing to do with the pack's future. So what was he driving at? “The future of the Pack? How does Elias affect the future of our Pack?” I furrowed my eyebrows. “Because he is an heir of Silverhaven Pack, and they are the biggest enemy to Crescent pack.” He moved closer and held my shoulder. “You know it has been our father's dream to destroy Silverhaven because of what they did to us 30 years ago. We can help him achieve that dream through Elias. Think about it.” He was right. Silverhaven had made our people suffer 30 years ago. The fall of Elias Thorne is the fall of the entire Thorne family and the Silverhaven Pack. Looking into my brother's eyes, all I could was pride and jealousy for Elias. But then, if he manages to get Selena as his mate, it will be a great advantage in taking over Silverhaven Pack. “Fine.” I took a deep breath. “But on one condition, you are going to let me do things my own way.” His smile widened. “That won't be a problem. As long as I have something to make the Perfect Alpha unfit to be an Alpha by the end of the session.” “Trust me, you'll get it,” I answered with the zeal and determination burning in me. “That's settled then.” He laughed out loud. “See you on the field tomorrow. May the best team win.” He walked out of the basketball court, leaving me to my thoughts. ‘Are we really doing this?’ Louis, my wolf asked. “Yes, we are,” I responded. “It's high time Silverhaven suffered for what they did to us.” I could feel the anger burning in my bones as I recalled the stories my father told us of what the Silverhaven did to our pack. Elias Thorne, your people have to pay for their crimes and you have to go down for it to happen. After completing the registration of all my classes, I went back to the dorm to see Elias sitting on his desk with his laptop open in front of him. He glanced at me before turning back to focus on whatever he was doing on the laptop. I was about to lay on my bed when an idea popped in my head. I cleared my throat to get Elias attention as I walked closer to him. “Can we talk for a minute?” I asked as I perched on the edge of his desk. He raised his eyebrows at me before nodding and folding his hand. “I'm all ears.” “I know we both don't like being roommates but it's something we can't change, so I was hoping we just put aside our Pack differences and try to get along.” His face scrunched in confusion. “Why? I thought you guys hated us.” “I'm just not the type to hold a grudge over something that happened years before I was born and besides both Packs have agreed to live in peace, there's no point hating each other over something that we didn't even know about,” I continued and he nodded in understanding. I could tell that I was starting to get to him. “it's good to know that you think that way.” “So are we good?” I stretched my hand out to him and he stared at it for a while before he eventually took it. Our eyes locked as we stared at each other like we were trying to figure each other out. I could see in his eyes that he doesn't trust me completely which was understandable but I planned to change that soon. In a split second, his face began to turn red as he quickly removed his hand from mine like it was burning him. He stood up and turned towards the restroom but I grabbed his hand to stop him. “Are you okay? You look unwell.” He shook my hand off almost instantly. “I'm fine,” he replied and rushed into the bathroom. What was that?KAEL'S POVI had been sitting in the dark for hours, my phone resting on the armrest of the chair, staring at the ceiling like it might give me answers I didn't even know the questions for.Rowan and Elias were on the floor above mine with their rooms beside each other, but they still feel like they are miles away from each other.Any time I thought about the role I played in that, it made me feel even more guilty. Gabriella not being around made things even more difficult for me because there was no one I could talk to about it.She might be mad at me, but she would still listen to me and scold me when I was stupid. That was better than being shut out.I grabbed my phone and dialled her number to find out what's going on with her brother. I didn't call her after she left because I wanted to give her space to deal with the situation.I shook the thought away and grabbed my phone.Gabriella answered on the second ring. "Kael," she said, and even through the phone, I could hear the exha
GABRIELLA’S POV Bella stood up and held my hand as more tears rolled down her cheeks. “I swear, I didn't plan any of this. I just can't bear to kill an innocent child. As long as I get child support, I can go faraway with my baby and never show my face in the Nightbourne Pack.”I sighed. “Technically, that's not an option for you. Our family will never allow our blood to live away from us. Besides, if it comes out in the future that Gabriel has an illegitimate child, it would ruin him and he would be stripped of his title as Alpha. We can't risk that.” “Then what do you want me to do?” she collapsed on the ground. “Honestly, I also don't want an innocent child to suffer. If the child is really my brother as you claim, then it's up to you to decide if you will marry him and end up in a loveless marriage or get rid of the baby and forget that any of this ever happened,” I said. She looked up at me. “Do you want me to get rid of the baby, so you brother can be happy with the woman he
GABRIELLA'S POVThe morning air was cold as I set out of the Alpha’s mansion to meet my mother of Gabriel's child, Bella Thorsen. That is if she's not lying. The neighborhood of the common wolves was modest and humble, nothing like the sprawling estates of high ranking wolves in the main city of Nightbourne pack. The houses here were small but well-kept, with faded paint and gardens that someone clearly put effort into maintaining despite their limited means. My assistant, Derek, had sent me the address before dawn. Bella lived with her parents in a small bungalow at the end of a quiet street. The moment my car pulled up, I could see the curtains shift in the front window. I had called ahead, identifying myself as Gabriel's sister, so they knew I was coming. The door opened before I could knock.A woman in her late forties stood there, her gray-streaked hair pulled back tightly. She wore a simple dress and her hands were clasped in front of her, knuckles white with nerves."Alpha Gab
GABRIELLA’S POVThe ride to Nightbourne Pack felt endless.Even after crossing into the pack borders and seeing the familiar gates, the uneasiness in my chest refused to settle.‘Gabriel tried to commit suicide.’The words kept repeating in my head over and over again like a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from.My brother wasn’t weak. He was stubborn, proud and reckless sometimes. For him to even think about suicide, something terrible must have happened. The moment the car stopped in front of the Alpha mansion, I pushed the door open before the driver could even come around. The guards bowed immediately. “Alpha Gabriella.”I ignored them and rushed inside. The uneasy feeling continued as the mansion was unusually quiet. The staff were moving around quietly and talking in a hush tone as tension hung heavily in the air.I climbed the stairs quickly and headed straight toward Gabriel’s room. The door was slightly open and the moment I stepped inside, my heart dropped.Gabriel sat on the
GABRIELLA’S POV Kael and I stood in the balcony while Elias talked to Rowan. There was a deep silence between us as we watched all the staff downstairs going about their day.“What decisions do you think they will make?” I said, breaking the silence.Kael turned to me with his eyebrows raised. “What?”“Elias and Rowan, do you think they will choose to get Rowan’s memories back?”He sighed and folded his arms. “I'm not sure but I assume Elias wants him to remember what they had but at the same time he doesn't want Rowan to remember how he was used and the pain he went through.” “That makes sense.” I nodded. “How do you feel about Rowan coming back?”“Relieved,” he answered without hesitation. “It feels like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders, though not completely. The look on Elias's face when he realised that Rowan doesn't remember him was haunting.”He paused and his eyes bored into mine before he continued, “I couldn't imagine you looking at me that way, forgetting th
ELIAS’S POVI inhaled deeply before finally pushing the door open and stepping inside.Rowan sat on the edge of the bed with his wrists still restrained by the silver-lined chains. His head was slightly lowered, his dirty blond hair falling over his forehead as though he was lost in thought. He slowly looked up when he sensed me entering and our eyes met. There was no hatred in his eyes this time. It was filled with confusion and curiosity.I quietly shut the door behind me before speaking. “If the chains are making you uncomfortable,” I started carefully, “I can take them off.”His gaze flickered toward the restraints before returning to me. “You trust me that much?” he asked quietly. The question caught me off guard because the truth was I actually did trust him. I was more uncomfortable seeing him being chained like a beast.“Will you attack me if I do?” I asked instead. He stared at me for a long moment before slowly shaking his head. “No.”Something about the way he answered made
ELIAS’S POVThe hall fell into a deathly silence the moment my father and Alpha Keiran faced each other.Keiran struck first as he lunged with a furious roar, claws flashing as he went straight for my father’s throat. The floor cracked beneath the force of his leap. But my father didn’t flinch. He
