LOGINELIAS’ POV
The morning air was filled with excitement as the entire school gathered on the field for the school opening contest, which I heard was the most anticipated event of Mortlach Academy. It was a battle of strength, speed and dominance among the male students that decided who stood at the top in the leaderboard in the beginning of the session. It was a chance for every pack heir to prove they were worthy of their titles. Topping the leader board in my first contest would at least make my father proud and my mom at ease that I was fitting in well. As I tightened the laces of my boots, my wolf, Carlos, muttered in my head, ‘Try not to faint when they start releasing their Alphas's scents.’ “You're not helping,” I hissed under my breath From the corner of my eyes, I saw Rowan standing a few feet away from me, stretching his arms, the muscles in his back flexing under his White and Silver Jersey, which was our team colour. His strong scent of Cedarwood and stormy rain was heavy in the air, teasing my suppressed instincts. I forced myself to focus on tying my wrist guards. The coordinator of the contest stepped up to the podium to explain the rules of the match. There were a total of eight teams with 15 members each. Four teams would go head to head in the first match and second match to obtain each other's flags. The one team that is able to eliminate all the members of all three teams and claim all the flags would advance to the finals. The crowd, precisely the female students screamed around the field as the announcer called for the participants to take their positions. Our team, Silver Hawks were going against Night Reavers who were putting on Dark violet and Gray which also happened to he Jace's team, Iron fang with Steel gray and black jersey and lastly Golden fangs with Gold black Jersey. We took our positions on the field and all heads turned when she walked in. Selena Drake in Silver and white jersey. Her long hair tied in a ponytail and her lips curved into a smile knowing that she had half the crowd drooling. A murmur broke out among the spectators. “She's cheering for the Silver Hawks?” “That's Elias Thorne’s team!” “At least we now know who caught her attention.” I could feel Adrian’s glare all the way from across the field, his jaw tightening as he watched Selena sit among our supporters. She waved at me and I gave her a polite nod with a small smile but when she winked, the crowd erupted into teasing cheers. My face heated up with discomfort. ‘Play along,’ my wolf whispered. ‘We need her.’ So I did something stupid; I winked back. All the girls screamed and Selena’s smirk deepened. I didn't bother looking at Adrian because I knew he was probably thinking of 1000 ways to murder me. “Easy, lover boy,” Rowan muttered beside me, his lips curving in amusement. “Shut up.” All teams took their stance, protecting their flags as we sized each other up. The whistle blew and for a moment everywhere was silent. Before I knew it, all three teams charged at us at the same time. “What the fuck?” I muttered with wide eyes. “It seems they are trying to eliminate you first,” Rowan said beside him. “Your reputation as the Perfect Alpha isn't doing us any good right now.” I took a deep breath and glanced at Rowan who gave me a nod. At my lead, our teams collided with the other teams. Our wolves were growling to be released as the air was thick with power, dominance and adrenaline. While the rest of our teams were protecting our flags, Rowan and I were charging forward to eliminate others and claim their flags. Rowan and I had barely exchanged words since last night, but on the field, something clicked. Our movements synced like two gears in perfect motion When I dodged left, he covered my right and when I was cornered, he was suddenly there, knocking someone down with a powerful tackle. Every time our eyes met, something inside me sparked; dangerous, wild and confusing. “Elias, watch your back,” Rowan barked. I ducked just in time as another player lunged toward me. Rowan countered with a swift block and grinned down at me. “You're welcome, Perfect Alpha.” I rolled my eyes, panting heavily. “Don't get too cocky.” He chuckled. “I wouldn't dream of it.” He reached out his hand to me and I grabbed it to get back on my feet. Together, we dominated the field with great teamwork and by the time we grabbed the last flag and made it back to our team domain, the final whistle blew. The Silver Hawks had won the first round. The crowd exploded in cheers. I could hear Selena’s voice screaming my name as she jumped and clapped. All of a sudden the entire crowd was chanting my name and a wide smile appeared on my face and my heart raced at the attention. Before I could process it, Rowan grabbed me and pulled me into a tight hug. My entire body froze. His warmth pressed against me as his scent enveloped and hit me like a drug. My Omega instinct, usually hidden by the suppressants, flared up violently. My pulse spiked and my skin began to heat up. My heart thudded in my chest as my mind was clouded with thoughts that were anything but innocent. No, not now. Definitely not him. “Hey, you okay?” Rowan’s deep voice said in my ear, too close and too dangerous. I quickly pulled away, forcing a laugh. “Yeah, I just need some air.” Before he could respond, I turned on my heel and bolted toward the locker room. The crowd cheers faded behind me as I stumbled into the empty restroom, gripping the edge of the sink until my knuckles turned white. My reflection in the mirror was terrifying. My face was flushed, lips trembling and pupils dilated. “What the hell is happening to me?” I whispered as my breath came out in short gasps. ‘He triggered your heat,’ Carlos growled, his voice thick with warning and desire. My chest tightened. “No, that can't be possible. I took the suppressant this morning.” ‘Your body wants him more than the drug can control. The drug might not be able to help us anymore.’ No, I had to think of another way to keep my Omega instinct under control. My mom isn't here to help so I have to think of another way. I had gone too far and my mother has sacrificed a lot to keep this secret of mine for me to let everything get exposed because of Rowan Vale. The sound of footsteps echoed outside the door followed by Rowan’s voice. “Elias? Are you in there?” I froze, my heart hammering hard against my ribcage. “Open up,” he said in a softer tone. “Are you okay?” I saw the doorknob turned and everything froze. if he stepped in now and got close enough to smell my arousal, everything would be over. My secret will be exposed.KAEL'S POVI had been sitting in the dark for hours, my phone resting on the armrest of the chair, staring at the ceiling like it might give me answers I didn't even know the questions for.Rowan and Elias were on the floor above mine with their rooms beside each other, but they still feel like they are miles away from each other.Any time I thought about the role I played in that, it made me feel even more guilty. Gabriella not being around made things even more difficult for me because there was no one I could talk to about it.She might be mad at me, but she would still listen to me and scold me when I was stupid. That was better than being shut out.I grabbed my phone and dialled her number to find out what's going on with her brother. I didn't call her after she left because I wanted to give her space to deal with the situation.I shook the thought away and grabbed my phone.Gabriella answered on the second ring. "Kael," she said, and even through the phone, I could hear the exha
GABRIELLA’S POV Bella stood up and held my hand as more tears rolled down her cheeks. “I swear, I didn't plan any of this. I just can't bear to kill an innocent child. As long as I get child support, I can go faraway with my baby and never show my face in the Nightbourne Pack.”I sighed. “Technically, that's not an option for you. Our family will never allow our blood to live away from us. Besides, if it comes out in the future that Gabriel has an illegitimate child, it would ruin him and he would be stripped of his title as Alpha. We can't risk that.” “Then what do you want me to do?” she collapsed on the ground. “Honestly, I also don't want an innocent child to suffer. If the child is really my brother as you claim, then it's up to you to decide if you will marry him and end up in a loveless marriage or get rid of the baby and forget that any of this ever happened,” I said. She looked up at me. “Do you want me to get rid of the baby, so you brother can be happy with the woman he
GABRIELLA'S POVThe morning air was cold as I set out of the Alpha’s mansion to meet my mother of Gabriel's child, Bella Thorsen. That is if she's not lying. The neighborhood of the common wolves was modest and humble, nothing like the sprawling estates of high ranking wolves in the main city of Nightbourne pack. The houses here were small but well-kept, with faded paint and gardens that someone clearly put effort into maintaining despite their limited means. My assistant, Derek, had sent me the address before dawn. Bella lived with her parents in a small bungalow at the end of a quiet street. The moment my car pulled up, I could see the curtains shift in the front window. I had called ahead, identifying myself as Gabriel's sister, so they knew I was coming. The door opened before I could knock.A woman in her late forties stood there, her gray-streaked hair pulled back tightly. She wore a simple dress and her hands were clasped in front of her, knuckles white with nerves."Alpha Gab
GABRIELLA’S POVThe ride to Nightbourne Pack felt endless.Even after crossing into the pack borders and seeing the familiar gates, the uneasiness in my chest refused to settle.‘Gabriel tried to commit suicide.’The words kept repeating in my head over and over again like a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from.My brother wasn’t weak. He was stubborn, proud and reckless sometimes. For him to even think about suicide, something terrible must have happened. The moment the car stopped in front of the Alpha mansion, I pushed the door open before the driver could even come around. The guards bowed immediately. “Alpha Gabriella.”I ignored them and rushed inside. The uneasy feeling continued as the mansion was unusually quiet. The staff were moving around quietly and talking in a hush tone as tension hung heavily in the air.I climbed the stairs quickly and headed straight toward Gabriel’s room. The door was slightly open and the moment I stepped inside, my heart dropped.Gabriel sat on the
GABRIELLA’S POV Kael and I stood in the balcony while Elias talked to Rowan. There was a deep silence between us as we watched all the staff downstairs going about their day.“What decisions do you think they will make?” I said, breaking the silence.Kael turned to me with his eyebrows raised. “What?”“Elias and Rowan, do you think they will choose to get Rowan’s memories back?”He sighed and folded his arms. “I'm not sure but I assume Elias wants him to remember what they had but at the same time he doesn't want Rowan to remember how he was used and the pain he went through.” “That makes sense.” I nodded. “How do you feel about Rowan coming back?”“Relieved,” he answered without hesitation. “It feels like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders, though not completely. The look on Elias's face when he realised that Rowan doesn't remember him was haunting.”He paused and his eyes bored into mine before he continued, “I couldn't imagine you looking at me that way, forgetting th
ELIAS’S POVI inhaled deeply before finally pushing the door open and stepping inside.Rowan sat on the edge of the bed with his wrists still restrained by the silver-lined chains. His head was slightly lowered, his dirty blond hair falling over his forehead as though he was lost in thought. He slowly looked up when he sensed me entering and our eyes met. There was no hatred in his eyes this time. It was filled with confusion and curiosity.I quietly shut the door behind me before speaking. “If the chains are making you uncomfortable,” I started carefully, “I can take them off.”His gaze flickered toward the restraints before returning to me. “You trust me that much?” he asked quietly. The question caught me off guard because the truth was I actually did trust him. I was more uncomfortable seeing him being chained like a beast.“Will you attack me if I do?” I asked instead. He stared at me for a long moment before slowly shaking his head. “No.”Something about the way he answered made
ELIAS’S POV When I got back to the dorm, Rowan was already there. He was sitting at his desk, sleeves rolled up, flipping through one of his textbooks. He looked up the moment I stepped in.“You’re late,” he said casually, but his eyes scanned me carefully, as if checking for bruises or tension.
ELIAS’S POV The first thing I did when I got to school the next morning was head straight to the Principal’s office. My heart was pounding the entire way there, not because I was afraid, but because I wasn’t entirely sure if I was doing the right thing. When I got to the front of the Principal’s o
