"Argghhh!!"

Hearing the loud buzzing of her alarm clock, Samantha groaned and snapped her eyes open. Her eyes moved to the clock not faraway from the bed and it almost went to the size of an orange when she saw the time.

It was past 9am... she's having a class by 10am.

"F**k, what was I thinking?" She questioned herself as she hurried off the bed and found her way to the bathroom.

"F**k!, F**k!"

Samantha taps her forehead in frustration. No one cares to wake her up. She shook her head. Her stepmom hated the sight of her and her dad, always let himself being manipulated by her stepmom. Ever since she lost her mother at 5 years snd her dad remarried, her life suck so much.

Samantha returned back with a towel around her, she went to her small closet and started rummaging through it for the clothes to wear.

"Not like I've something nice to wear for lectures anyway" she mumbled beneath her breath.

She picked a jean trouser and a big top, went to her small dressing table and started applying lotion on her skin.

She wore her clothes and packed her hair in bun. She wore her glasses and picked up her bag before rushing out.

Don't be surprised, her appearance doesn't matter anyway since she takes zero interest in them.

"I hope I'm not too late" she drawled and sneak out of the house. She prayed silently not to dump into her father nor her step mother.

It worked as she finally exit the building. She sigh and hurried her pace.

Samantha lowered her head as she walked, her bag around her neck and her hands lost in her trouser pockets. She just finished lectures for the day and she's planning on exiting the school premises before anyone noticed her.

She dislike, loated and hate crowded places. She adjusted her glasses and held on tightly to her duffled bag as she start squeezing her way past people of different cultures, race and tribe- heading straight for the exit.

As she made it out, she release a breath she has been holding in. She thought of going to the pack since its too early to go home.

Of course, she wouldn't want to see the faces of her father and annoying step mom. But unfortunately she hated crowded places. She wouldn't have everyone look at her exhausted self in pity before going on their merry ways.

She pursed the corner of her lip and stop a cab instead.

"$4322 estate" she said. She opened the cab door and entered. She closed her eyes and lean on the seat.

"Sam, this is Clark Langford, your fiance"

Her eyes widened upon hearing those words from her stepmom.

Well, she has got home just to meet her dad, her stepmom and a supposed business man sitted on their living room couch.

She felt as though her heart had been pierced by multiple needles. It was excruciating.

Maybe coming home was a bad idea as well.

"This guy is my fiance?" she asked pointing at the so called fiance.

Something seemed to have exploded in her head. The pain was so terrible that she could barely breathe.

She felt she could name this. But she can't. Now the walls she built around her bruised soul is down. She's shattered, crumbled and broken.

"You're twenty Sam and you aren't in anyway getting younger. You should be happy i found Mr. Clark for you" Her step mother blurted out.

All of a sudden, she felt like an object of ridicule. She forced out a smile.

"I can't believe it. This is a absurd" she uttered.

"Who ever said the world is gonna run out of guys i can marry or are you just doing this for the sake of your business!"

She didn't bother to hide the irritation in her voice as she stared at them all.

She has never spoke back at her Stepmom. She has agreed to everything she wanted and let her manipulate her life but not anymore... absolutely not today

Slap!

A resounding slap landed on her face and her glasses felt off her eyes and broke into pieces.

"I won't let you disrespect me right in front of Mr. Clark. I never said I needed your opinion about this. Is a decision I've concluded because i want the best for you" her step mom retorted calmly.

The decisive expression on her face made her wriggled from where she stood.

"Best for me?" She smiled covering the part of her face that was aching. She looked at her incredulously and move her gaze to her father who wasn't gonna uttered a word. He's gonna sit there and watch everything just like the moron he is.

"You did not even talk to me about this matter. I barely know this man" She paused and studied his figure, he's wearing a fitted cream v- neck shirt topped with a black suit jacket. His long pointed nose snd fine thin lip suit well with his sharp jawline. His alluring looks screams tidiness. She immediately diverted her gaze.

"You've all the time to get to know him. What's there to fuss about?. I'm your mother and I'm not giving you any right to disagree with my decision. Leave my sight!"

She uttered loudly.

"Pff" shocked. She bite harder on her lower lip till she felt it hurting. She glanced at them on more time and walked out.

As she walked to her room, tears were seen streaming down her face.

"They've finally ruined my life" her voice sounded hoarse amid her sobs. Recalling all that just happened, Samantha felt as if a knife was scraping her heart. She was in a state of disbelief. She dropped her bag on the bed and unclad herself. She walked into the bathroom afterward and took a bath.

She came back shortly and sat naked in front of the vanity mirror.

She loose her hair and let it fall down to her bare back. She sighed and swept her hair over one shoulder.

Staring at the mirror, she had a look into it and a smile curved from her lips.

Well, she was still looking pretty. She ran her hand over the soft side of her cheek, feeling the fresh skin. Her skin was so perfect, spotless and flawless.

She had never admired herself. Maybe because, she got no time to do that or because of the glasses she often put on and her hair tied up in bun.

A crazy thought ran through her head. The corners of her mouth twitched. She needed to get away from everyone and everything. She needed a place she can think straight.

A Pub!

She has never been there. But, there's actually first time for everything.

Samantha stared down at the short cream gown she was putting on. She never knew she got something like this in her wardrobe.

It was so short and she felt uncomfortable in it but she care less.

Perfect!" She said enthusiastically when she was done with the light make up.

She walked into the club, it was in a beautiful position amid lemon groves. She stared around, they were lots of people, music echoes loudly as everyone engage in one stuff or the other, some were already making out and to her it was an orgy

She was feeling nervous and the gown she worn wasn't helping at all. This place was actually not for her but it seems to be the only place she can forget all her pains

She walked to the bar counter.

"a glass of ginger ale, pastis and scrumpy" she uttered.

Even if she doesn't drink, she still knows alcoholic intakes that can get someone drunk. He mixed everything and gave it to her.

She sighted a corner and went there. She sat and gulped the drink down her throat. It tasted awful but that didn't stop her. She kept drinking as she let the tear drop from her eyes.
