FAZER LOGINNathan
“Why hasn’t it been found?”
I yelled at my assistants. I couldn’t find my wedding ring.
I had it with me during the inspection of the new product that was about to be launched, but somewhere between the factory and my office, I lost it, and I can’t find it.
I looked everywhere in my office before asking for help, but till now, it hasn’t been found.
I have had it with me for over a year now, and I never lose it.
“We are still looking for it.”
I glared at them.
“Make it quick! I can’t lose my wedding ring!”
I know it’s not their fault, but I couldn’t help but be mad. I even offered them bonuses to find it, so it’s not like they are doing it for free.
I waved them off and sat down heavily. I don’t even know why I am so anxious about losing the damn ring.
I just feel so upset.
“Sir,”
Simone walked into my office, and for some reason, I knew I wasn’t about to like whatever news he brought with him.
I hired Simone to keep an eye on my wife after she started going out a lot more than before.
I caught her smiling at her phone so many times, and I have reasons to believe she might be seeing someone.
No clause in our marriage contract states she can’t see anyone, but that doesn’t mean she is allowed to.
She is still my wife, and we still have nine months until our marriage ends.
Until then, she can’t see anyone.
It’s not that I don’t want her to be happy.
At first, when I saw her smiling and being happier than before, it made me happy, and I thought she finally felt safe enough to be herself and be happy in our marriage of convenience.
I only started to be suspicious of her because whenever she sees me walk in, she always turns her phone off as if she doesn’t want me to see.
For all I know, I could be wrong. I hope I am wrong. I don’t share what’s mine, and she is mine.
“What do you have for me?”
I asked Simone.
“Your suspicions were right,”
I frowned at his words and took the brown envelope he handed to me.
“Who is this?”
I let out in anger when I saw a photo of a man whom I couldn’t recognize.
“His name is Matthew Warren. He is twenty-six and the sole heir of Warren Group. Right now, he owns a gym, and that’s where your wife met him.”
“Bastard.”
I cursed under my breath when I saw the photos. I haven’t even hugged my wife since we got married, and that bastard had her in his arms.
My fingers tightened around the picture.
“When did this happen?”
I couldn’t contain the anger I felt. I thought I was wrong when I assumed she was seeing someone behind my back, but I was right.
She was seeing someone. No wonder she has been going out a lot more than usual.
No wonder she has been smiling a lot more. She never smiles at me.
“The first pictures are from four days ago. They visited the hospital together, and he took her home afterwards.”
Hospital? Together? I wanted to ask him why they visited the hospital but decided against it.
“This is from yesterday.”
He pointed at the latest picture. She was laughing. I have never seen her laugh so much.
She never even looks at me or acknowledges my existence, yet she was laughing at whatever the bastard was saying.
I didn’t even know she could laugh like that. I didn’t even know she had two very visible dimples.
She hasn’t even as much as smiled at me.
She always leaves the room when I walk in and only ever speaks a few words to me when I talk to her.
When I said our marriage would be no physical contact, I didn’t expect us not to at least have a conversation, but she made it clear from the first day we started living together that she didn’t want any contact with me, and I respected her wish.
Two years, I thought, after those two years, we can finally get past our first meeting and get to know each other.
That’s why I was so ready for the two years to end. I have been counting the days until it ends. I thought once the contract is out of the way, we can finally be together.
I was wrong.
She has someone else.
I looked up when one of my assistants walked into my office holding another brown envelope.
“Sir, you got an order from the count.”
She told me. I blinked in confusion but accepted the papers.
I waited until she was out of my office before I checked the content.
“What the fuck?”
It wasn’t a court order but divorce papers.
“Sir? Is there a problem?”
I didn’t even remember Simone was still with me.
“You can leave.”
I barked at him, and he rushed out of my office.
Once alone, I checked the divorce papers again to make sure I wasn’t wrong.
I wasn’t. It had my name and my wife’s name.
“She already signed?”
She can’t divorce me.
If she thinks she can play stupid games with me, I will remind her of the contract we signed.
Two years.
It’s not two years yet, and even the contract states that I will be the one to file the divorce.
I was waiting for those two years to be over so that I could finally make my move, but she had other things in mind.
My eyes fell on the photos on the table, and suddenly, it made sense.
“Is she pregnant with that bastard?”
I didn’t want to think of her with that bastard, but she went with him to the hospital, and suddenly, she wants to divorce me.
I frowned when my office door opened again and nearly yelled at the assistant who walked in.
“What do you want?”
I growled, which startled him.
“Sir, we found the ring.”
He said and showed me. I looked at the ring that I have been so worried about losing, and it looked back at me as if it was mocking me.
While I was upholding our marriage vows, which, even though they were never said out loud, were still valid, Chelsea was busy seeing another man and now might even be pregnant with his child.
She wants to leave me for him?
“Sir?”
My assistant’s words brought me out of my thoughts, and I took the ring from him and watched him leave.
I clenched my fist around the ring.
I picked up the photos and the divorce papers and rushed out of my office.
I drove like a madman.
If she thinks she can divorce me to be with that bastard, then she must think again because I won’t let her leave.
I won’t give her what she wants.
She is mine, and even after the two years end, I won’t let her go.
I didn’t wait so long to finally be with her just to have her go to someone else.
Chelsea“Are you okay? Do you need anything? Do you need me to do anything for you? Just say the words, and I will do it.”He said those words and reached for my hand again.I gathered all my strength and yanked his hand away.“I want you to leave me alone!”I don’t know how loud I said those words, but I knew it was loud enough for him to hear, and I saw the way his expression changed.Sadness.That’s what I saw in his eyes, but I didn’t care. Why should I care when the only reason he was suddenly showing me a soft and attentive side of himself was that he knew I was dying?Deep down, he was probably praying for me to die sooner so that he could be free.He did tell me on our wedding day that he never wanted to be married. No one would expect a widower to get remarried as soon as his wife dies, so as long as he plays his game right, everyone will feel bad for him.He was only putting on a good show now so that when I end up dying, everyone will praise him for how he stood by my side
Chelsea“How can he just steal my phone and disappear?”I let out for an uncountable amount of time since I realized my phone didn’t just disappear from the house. My husband stole my phone, and it has been hours since he left.I thought of going out to get a new phone, but I couldn’t leave because I felt very weak, not to mention I was in so much pain.I took some painkillers, slept, and woke up hoping that he would be back with my phone when I woke up.I didn’t panic because I had nothing to hide on my phone. If he stole my phone thinking he would find evidence to back up his stupid claims, then he was in for a rude awakening. The only shocking thing he would find was that I used his birthday as my passcode, and I don’t even want to talk about why I did it.It has been like that for over a year now, and it never crossed my mind to change it, and he probably won’t guess it.I checked the time again and cursed at him.I needed my phone to talk to my lawyer regarding the new papers tha
Nathan“My wife isn’t sick; she is just pregnant.”The words came out of my mouth, and I couldn’t help but pray that it was true.I didn’t even mind her being pregnant anymore. Anything over whatever the doctor just told me.“No, she isn’t pregnant, Mr. Montague. I know because we tested for pregnancy during her first check, even though she told us she couldn’t possibly be pregnant. I have her whole file with me. She isn’t having a baby; she is dying. I am sorry for being the bearer of bad news.”My vision blurred the longer the doctor spoke. Each word he said hit me straight in the gut, and I wanted to make it stop.“No, please.”I begged as if my begging would take away what he just said.“The reason I wanted you to come here is that the kind of cancer your wife has progresses very rapidly, and your wife is refusing to get treatment.”As if the words he just told me weren't enough, he had to go and add more.“What?”I asked even though I heard what he said.“If she doesn’t get treat
Nathan"Just let me go, please."I took another shot as the words Chelsea had said to me replayed in my head for the umpteenth time. The fact that she was pleading for me to let her go.The fact that she lied to my face about everything. She denied the affair. She denied the pregnancy, but I have picture proof of everything. If I didn't, I would have believed her lies.I hated how her lies got to me. I hated how hearing her plead for me to let her go made me feel. How did I end up like this? I should be indifferent to her. I shouldn't care whether she leaves me or not.The truth is that I care. I have always cared.I cared, and that's why I ended up in a contract marriage with her.It wasn't that the groom was changed, but that I stepped up when I found out her family had changed the bride.I didn't want her to marry that bastard who would treat her terribly. I thought marrying her instead of letting that jerk marry was the best way to help her out of her situation.I thought I knew h
Chelsea“Wait, do you think I found someone else?”I asked him. It made absolutely no sense that he would think that. Our marriage might not have had any intimacy, but I would never get with anyone else while married.I don’t know why he would think so little of me.“I don’t think, Chelsea. I know what you have been up to, and I know why you suddenly want to divorce me. I won’t let that happen. You can’t leave if I don’t sign the papers, and I won’t sign.”He said, and right in front of me, he ripped up the papers even though I screamed at him not to do it.“Why would you do that? I have to go back and get a new copy! How could you do that?”I cried. I hated that his action made me cry.“Go tell that man that he can’t have you! I won’t let that happen. You are my wife, and you shall remain my wife for as long as I deem it fit.”The crazy man told me.“I am not seeing anyone. You don’t know the reason I want a divorce, and I refuse to tell you! I just want out of this sham marriage! Yo
Chelsea“Joan, stop crying.”I finally found the courage to tell Joan everything, and she has refused to stop crying.“You can’t die. I don’t want you to die.”Joan cried. I smiled at her. I don’t want to die either, but I have accepted my fate. There’s nothing I can do to change it.There’s nothing that I could have done differently to stop the cancer from developing in my brain. It just so happened that I am very unlucky.“Joan, crying isn’t going to change anything. You have been crying for hours. At this rate, you will get sick too, and I can’t have that.”She sniffled.“Why don’t you want to get treated? Why have you refused to listen to me? Three months is just too short. I can’t even be with you because of the fucking finals.”She cried. She had wanted to return, but I told her it was okay for her to finish her studies and take her time. She can still make it in time to see me off.“Babe, I am okay. I promise. Plus, Matt is always with me.”Matt has been an angel. So far, he ha
