" Rozanov " I answered the phone, deciding to find out at once what Chloe wants.

" Pyotr, I finally got through to you " Chloe's cheerful voice reached my ear.

" Good morning, Chloe.”

" How are you? " She asked, "It's been so long since we've spoken.”

" I'm fine. How are you? " Why is she calling me after almost two years?

" I'm back in the States," she explained, "I arrived last week.”

" You're here to stay?”

" Yes, I lost my job in Argentina and didn't have much else to do there," she answered.

" Did you get another job here? " I questioned.

Maybe she wants some jobs.

" I have some interviews scheduled," she explained.

" Why did you call me, Chloe? " I cut to the chase.

" Well, I was just wondering. I wanted to see if everything was okay between us. You know, I had to leave like that," she answered blandly, "but we've always gotten along well.”

" We're fine," I assured her. "I never resented you for taking the job. It was a good opportunity, you had just graduated.”

" Really?
