Chapter 3/ I WASN'T enchanted to meet you

Anger, a feeling that isn't really foreign to Sabrina, but she sure does only feel it on rare occasions, and it's one of those occasions that she is experiencing right now.

“What is he doing in here?” Sabrina asked, sounding as petulant as herself with her arms folded on her chest.

“Oh, this is Scott Ackerman.” Zachary said, looking at Sabrina's ex.

Scott and Sabrina once dated when they were only 16, he was the perfect boyfriend any girl would want at first then one summer night Sabrina caught him cheating with the girl from the school band and after that instead of going after her and getting her back he just left without a single word and never came back.

And now he's here after 12 fucking years.

“You two would be sharing this office next to mine.” Zach spoke with enthusiasm in his voice.

“Why?” Sabrina asked, irritated by the idea of her and Scott sharing an office.

“Because Scott here got two contracts signed by two different clients today, and you got your first client in a day of working here, you both deserve special treatment.” Zach replied patting Scott's shoulder quite confused to why was Sabrina seemed so annoyed by Scott, he didn't even do anything.

Zach sure is close with Sabrina's family, but it doesn't mean that he knows everything about her, or them.

In short, he doesn't know about Scott and Sabrina.

“Nice to see you again, Sabrina.” Scott said, extending his hand for Sabrina to shake, but she just took a step back and stared at him expressionless.

The uncomfortable air was too much at the moment. Far too much.

“Anywho, I have some things to do in my office, so I'll leave you two be,” Zachary said, cutting the uncomfortable silence. “Scott if you have a question or if you want to take a tour around the firm later just tell Sabrina.” He added, before exiting the room, he knew that Sabrina memorized every section of this firm because she was always there. Instead of hanging out with her friends during her spare time when she was younger, Sabrina chose to stay in this firm and learn more about the legal system instead.

Once Zachary was out of view, Scott putted back his gaze on Sabrina and smiled.

“Hey Sabrina, what's up?” He asked.

“Nothing.” She replied coldly, putting her things at her bag before swinging it on her left shoulder trying to get out of the room as fast as she could.

She thought that he get it, he gets that she doesn't want to talk to him right now, and she needed time to process everything, But being the douchebag he is, he spoke. Again.

“Come on doll it was like 12 years ago, don't be so immature let-” hearing those words coming from him made Sabrina stop in her tracks and that's when she lose it all.

In short, she slapped him.

Yeah, it was pretty hard.

“Ow sabs what the Fuck?!” Scott said, rubbing his now sore cheek.

“Don't tell me stop being so immature if there's someone immature in this room that's you.” Sabrina replied with hatred and sadness evident in her voice before storming out of the room.

She needed to get her mind off things, and that's what exactly she's going to do.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Late night walk, an activity that a lot of people do when they want to get their mind off things, and Sabrina is one of those people.

The streets of Denver, Colorado was never quiet, but there's just something about the calmness of the night that felt like home.

The moon was shining brightly, but the stars were barely visible, though, they're still there.

Sabrina shoved her hands into the pocket of the hoodie that she was wearing, her mind in peace at the calmness of the night.

Then her phone rang.

Sabrina was annoyed by the fact that her little meditation was interrupted, but when she saw the caller ID she was thankful that she brought her phone along with her.

“Hello?” Sabrina said.

“Oh hi Ms. Clarke, I know it's like 10 pm right now but I really need your help, can you come to my office?” Shawn said from the other line.

“Yeah, be there in 20.” Sabrina replied before ending the call, not even bothering to say goodbye. She immediately went back to her apartment and changed into something semi-causal, once she was done with herself she got into her car and drove towards the Turner organization building where she found Shawn standing outside probably waiting for her.

“Hey!” Sabrina exclaimed, waving once she got off her car.

“Oh hey!” Shawn waved back with relief, knowing that she really did come.

“I really appreciate you coming here, Ms. Clarke and I deeply apologize for disturbing your evening.” Shawn said, approaching Sabrina.

“No, it's fine, you didn't disturb anything.” She lied.

“Let's go inside, shall we?” He said, gesturing towards the entrance of the building.

Sabrina just nodded and followed him inside.

Unlike earlier the building wasn't crowded anymore, the majority of the hallways are now empty, and the surroundings are fairly quiet too. Once they reached Shawn's office they went inside and being the gentleman that he is, he guided Sabrina towards the leather couch and offered her something.

“Do you mind for anything? What's your pleasure, Sabrina?” Shawn spoke using her first name for the first time today while pouring some wine into two glasses.

“No, I'm okay, thanks though.” She refused politely.

“Oh well, should we start discussing business then?” Shawn asked, taking a sip from his glass before setting it down while taking a seat across from the couch Sabrina was sitting.

“I believe so.” Sabrina responded, checking him out secretly.

“So the reason I called you here is that I needed you to confirm and organize some of the possible evidences that one of my undercovers collected.” Shawn explained.

“You hired spies?” Sabrina asked.

“Yeah, I got them last year but the information and proofs that they gave to my previous lawyers wasn't enough to win the case, so I ended my contract with them and hired new ones” Shawn answered.

“Okay, can I see them?” Sabrina asked.

“Sabrina two of them are like 8 years older than you and the other one is a total weirdo why would you want to se-” Shawn said with disgust thinking that Sabrina is interested in the guys that he hired.

And that's when she cracked.

“No you idiot, I'm talking about the evidences that they collected.” She said laughing.

“Oh”
