53. Not in Vain

Stella glanced at the wall clock that showed 1 AM Birmingham, England time. Both eyes were faint. The circumference of her black eyes came into view. She was exhausted and starving waiting for Ella, who didn't bring dinner.

“Does Ella still cook? I'm starving and exhausted,” Stella said with low intonation.

Stella leaned her head. She tried to stay awake from drowsiness. But eventually, she leaned her head and closed her eyes. The main bedroom was silent.
