Chapter 53

Sofia

Three days later, I'm still trying to get used to the new routine. Aaron is actually a calm baby, waking up every two hours to feed, and the rest of the time, he's in a deep sleep. But I've found that being a mother means being alert all the time. Brandon has been wonderful! He helps me every time I breastfeed. He takes the baby, brings him to me, and stays by my side until I finish. How can I not love this man?

Today, a Saturday, he took advantage of the fact that Laura came to spend the day with me and pamper her godson to do some work in the office. We sat on the balcony, she's holding Aaron in her lap, completely enchanted.

"Well done!" I say, crossing my legs and placing my hands on my lap. "Now, tell me your story."

Laura pursed her lips. She knows what I'm talking about. Then she sighs and settles more comfortably in the armchair.
