Joffrey’s POV

“What the hell was she thinking? She could have killed herself. It’s clear that the sunstone is too powerful for even her to control.” I said to my grandmother, as I sat on the edge of the bed, holding Angelica’s petite hand in mine, praying that she was going to be okay.

“What she was thinking was that she would do whatever it took to save you. She is more powerful than you give her credit for.” My grandmother said as she placed her hand on my shoulder, trying to calm me, but her words did quite the opposite.

It was clear that Angelica’s focus was no longer on why we had come here, but on me. For days I had pushed her to feel the bond between us, and now I am seeing that I shouldn’t have. If I had just left well enough alone, she wouldn’t be focused on me and my situation, but on taking the heir down. I had brought her here against my better judgment, and now that she had heard my family’s history, there was no turning bac

Joffrey’s POV This wasn’t how I had foreseen this battle going down, and it was killing me going our separate ways, but Carla had promised me that she would keep Angelica safe. For as long as I have known Carla, she had been loyal to my family and she had always kept her word, and right now, I need that to be true more than ever, because Angelica’s life was in her hands. With my greatest grandfather by my side, we followed Alpha Jaxson and Alpha Bishop into the forest, with Alpha Bishop leading the way, as he was following the visions that Carla had given to him. Alpha Bishop assured me all would be fine, but I knew that even Carla’s visions could go wrong, if the littlest circumstance within them was altered. Alpha Bishop came to a halt, and I stood there wondering why we had stopped, as I worried that Angelica would be too far ahead of us, but then I saw an invisible wall before us, slowly begin to crumble before our eyes. Without spea

Angelica’s POV The heir’s hand reached for my chest, as he plucked the sunstone necklace right from it, while he says, “I’ll take that.” Before he released me from his grasp moving back towards the fire. With tears falling from the corner of my eyes, I yell out to him, “I will never be yours.” A menacing smile formed on the heir’s face, as he turns back to look at me, before he says, “We shall see about that.” While he raised the sunstone in the air and it began to glow. Instantly, I began to feel the pull of the sunstone, drawing me to it like a magnet, as I tried to keep my feet planted on the ground beneath me, resisting the pull of it. It felt like my soul was now somehow connected to the sunstone, and as it began to glow brighter the pull became more intense, drawing me towards it. I closed my eyes, trying to block out its beckoning light streaming from it, as my hands balled into fists by my side, wh

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 96

Angelica’s POV With Carla by my side, the two of us walked towards the forest that surrounded the house, where she could feel the energy of immense power being used. As we took a step within the tree line, I could feel the power that she was feeling entering my body, like a rush of energy hitting me head on. It was clear that the heir still had the telus, and that he had collected more powers since the battle at my family’s estate. The energy I was now feeling felt very similar to my own, making me realize that the heir must have siphoned from my mother. As we continued to walk, Carla placed her hand on my shoulder, stopping me from taking another step forward, as she extended her hand forward, almost touching an invisible barrier in front of us. The tips of her fingers begin to spark, as she draws energy from the barrier, before she steps towards it placing her hands directly on it and begins to push. But the barrier was relentless, and it pushed back,

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 95

Angelica’s POV Relief washed over me that we were no longer in the heir’s game, but it was clear by the night sky that time had passed while we were in it. At first, I had no clue how Ambrogio had helped us out of it, but then my eyes landed on a woman in a cloak, and I didn’t have to see her face fully to know who it was. “Carla, what are you doing here?” I asked her, as Joffrey’s attention turned to her too. But Carla wasn’t the one to answer me, as Ambrogio says, “You aren’t the only one that has a witch as a longtime friend.” I knew that Carla was old, but I would have never imagined her to be that old, making me wonder now if she was just a witch or if Ambrogio had gifted her with immortality. “I thought you didn’t care for witches?” My father asks him as he moves to my side, staring at Carla, as if he was wondering if he could trust her. “I didn’t say that. I just have trust issues. P

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 94

Joffrey’s POV I could feel Angelica’s powers coursing through my veins like a ravage storm at sea, as I tried to control my thirst for more of her blood, but seeing her body so frail in her father’s arms right now, simmered the thirst within me. Alpha Bishop cautiously moved towards me, now knowing that my vampire side was showing itself, as he asks me, “Are you under control?” Shaking my head, I told him I was, as my eyes remained on Angelica, making sure that she was okay, because I would never forgive myself if she wasn’t. Just like myself, it was clear that she wasn’t worried about herself, as she tried to stand on her own, asking her father, “Is Joffrey, okay? I need to see him.” Alpha Jaxson’s eyes moved to look at me, before he says to her, “Joffrey is fine.” But that didn’t stop her from wanting to come to me, as she once again tried to break free from her father’s hold to get to me. Taking a deep

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 93

Angelica’s POV My Uncle Bishop and my father began to move around the ballroom trying each of the doors for themselves, but none of them would open, making me wonder if it was my turn again in this game the heir was playing with us. How many trials of fear was the heir going to make us face, and was this game he was playing with us ever going to end? Fear began to sink into me, that this was our hell, and that we were going to be trapped in it for the rest of eternity, as I stood in the middle of the ballroom floor, deciding on which door to pick. Letting go of Joffrey’s hand, I moved to the back of the ballroom to the door that led outside, hoping that it was the door that would lead us out of this hell of a game. But as I took a deep breath, and placed my hand on the handle, I realized quickly that the handle wasn’t moving, making me wonder what game the heir was playing with us now. I wanted to scream out in frustration, but I held it

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 92

Angelica’s POV I knew by the look on Joffrey’s face that he was scared to see what lay on the other side of the door, but we had no other choice, as the debris continued to fall through the hole, pushing us to face it. This time my father grabbed a hold of my arm, pulling me in front of him, as Joffrey finally opened the door and stepped inside. Stepping through the door to join Joffrey, I wondered what his worst fear could have been, but as my eyes focused on the room around me, I was stunned to see where I was standing. Joffrey stood in silence with his head down in the middle of the ballroom at my parents’ house, as if he was ashamed to look at anyone, making me wonder why or how the night of my ball could have been his biggest fear. It was definitely one of my own, because it was the night that the heir had first violated me by siphoning my powers, but I didn’t understand how it was his. “Well, isn’t this interesting.” My father says

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 91

Angelica’s POV As my father opened the front door, a white light beamed into the cabin, before my father stepped into the light, without a second of hesitation, knowing with what I had just said, that the door would lead him to my mother. But as we stepped through the door, unfortunately my mother was nowhere in sight, and we stood in what looked like a basement, with a huge hole in the floor above our heads. A growl instantly radiated from my father, and my Uncle Bishop quickly moved to his side to comfort him, knowing that my father failed to take us to my mother, even though I know he tried. It was clear his darkest fear still lay there the night he thought he had lost my mother to Tyler, and that was where the heir had taken us with the little game he was playing. “There is still hope. We are now inside the house. Maybe the heir is somewhere inside the house with them.” My Uncle Bishop tells my father with hope, but I knew that was a

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 90

Angelica’s POV “What the bloody hell?” Joffrey asks, as he quickly moves to my side, while my father says, “This is impossible.” As he races towards the window, peering outside. “I don’t understand. How are we in my cabin?” My Uncle Bishop asks, while he begins to look around, moving from room to room, as if he was looking for something. Moving away from the window, my father begins to shake his head, and I can see the dread in his eyes, thinking that we were hundreds of miles away from my mother, but in reality, I knew we weren’t, or at least I prayed we weren’t. A loud click came from behind us, making us all turn to see my Uncle Bishop coming out of his bedroom with a shotgun in his hand, while he says, “This mother fucker wants to play games, then games are what we will play.” Just as those words came from his lips, there was a knock on the front door, making us all turn to now look at it, as a voice e
