"You should stay here at the house, Grantt," I suggested after we finished eating. We were both in the living room, with me busy monitoring social media while he seemed deep in thought, staring at his phone.

"Can you hear me?" I playfully nudged him, fearing that he might impulsively rush off to see Nikki. This man was truly unpredictable, and I felt the need to keep an eye on him to prevent any potential confrontation.

"I'm not deaf. I'm just chatting with Wendy. She wants to come over." His voice revealed his stress. "Damn that jerk! Son of a bitch! If I had known he'd pull this, I would have confronted him last night."

"Don't curse, Grantt," I scolded him gently.

"I'm so damn annoyed, Yong! What should I do, huh?" he said with a frustrated chuckle.
