CHAPTER 8

Chances are Grantt will be giving Wendy a ride, so we won't be meeting. Today isn't the right time to head to Tagaytay as we have an early trip tomorrow. We'll rest in our respective condos for now and meet at the port.

I sighed and, after a few minutes, decided to leave the RR and head up to my office.

Slumping into my chair, I began working on the proposals and reports I needed to submit. When a crick developed in my neck, I briefly looked up and massaged it.

"Life is life," I muttered, followed by a yawn.

Drowsiness seemed to be creeping in. Just as I was about to stand up to adjust the air conditioning, the door swung open. I furrowed my brow in surprise as Grantt walked in.

"Why are you here?" I asked. He glanced at me for a moment before taking a seat.

"Because you're here," he replied casually, closing his eyes. "I locked the door, so just relax. Besides, you're my handler, so it's normal for me to be in your office."

He said quite a bit.
