CHAPTER 9

"Grantt," I called out to him as he hummed a tune.

He seems to be in a good mood today. His face radiates joy. I rarely witness this demeanor from him, especially when we're alone.

"Yes, wife?" he replied casually.

Although his words were spoken casually, I was momentarily taken aback. I'm still adjusting to this new way of addressing me. I'm not sure if I should be pleased or annoyed. I'm more accustomed to his grumpiness. That's how I got to know him.

"Why? You're my wife, aren't you?"

I simply rolled my eyes, which made him laugh. "Maldita."

"I'll come to your condo."

A mischievous smile crossed his face, leaving me puzzled. I stared at him with an inquisitive look. "You're coming? Okay."

"What's with your evil smile? I'm coming because you might forget that I'm your manager? I'm always here to help you pack, right? You just don't seem to appreciate it."
