"See that the High Prophetess is returned in safety," she commanded Cedric, who was already mounted upon his steed.

"At once, my lady," he replied, inclining his head with respect. Then, turning to the men assembled behind him, he barked the order, "We ride!"

Within moments, the sound of hooves striking stone echoed through the courtyard as the riders galloped through the castle gates and disappeared beyond.

She turned back toward the keep, her voice calm but firm. "And the Alpha—what is his condition?"

"He remains in slumber," Jade replied.

She paused, glancing over her shoulder. "Where is he now?"

"I have returned him to his chamber, mother."

"Very well. We shall now see the Luna."

But before she could take a step, her son’s voice interjected.

"The Luna is with him."

She halted at once, her breath catching in her throat.

"What am I to do?" Lena asked, her gaze fixed on the Priestess, who struggled to kneel before her. The Priestess had aged terribly, yet her visions remained sharp and clear, unclouded by time."Attempt to connect with him, while I commune with the spirit," came the Priestess’s raspy command.Without protest, the Priestess clasped her hands together, her eyes closed as she began a low, rhythmic chant.Lena moved to a seat beside them."They say you must lie with me, that through this, he may regain control," Craven remarked with a smirk that sent a chill down her spine."In your dreams," Lena retorted sharply. "You’d do well to return to your slumber and allow him to take the reins. I will do no such thing.""Beloved," Craven’s voice softened, the smirk fading into something more earnest, "You do not understand. The men approach. They will harm you if I do not act. I am here to offer you protection."Lena scoffed. "I understand your so-called care. But do you understand that with you

The days that followed were drenched in dread and unrest. True to his vow, Craven fulfilled his beloved’s request....he struck down Lydia Voss with merciless precision and dragged the unconscious witch into the bleak confines of Blackthorn Hold. Yet in doing so, he had unleashed a tempest of fear across the realm. He did not simply slay the woman; he desecrated her memory. Her body was dismembered, and her remains divided and dispatched to the various packs. Each received two or three parts....a grotesque token, a calculated insult to the entire race.Outrage echoed across the territories. They assembled at the foot of the Dark Tower, voices raised in growls and grievance, fangs bared and tempers kindled. The act had shattered their fragile unity, giving rise to whispers of war and seething resentment.Yet for all their fury, none could summon Darius. The Alpha had vanished into himself. No call, no howl, no sacred rite could bring him forth. His lycan beast prowled silently within, r

His presence swallowed the chamber, heat rolling off him like a storm barely held at bay.She stood still as stone, her breath caught in her throat, heart thundering like a trapped creature. He reached for her, his calloused hands cradling her face with surprising gentleness, thumbs brushing her cheeks as if memorizing every line of her.For a moment, he simply looked at her.As though she were the answer to every prayer he'd never dared to speak aloud. And then his lips descended—fierce, desperate, starved. It was not a kiss of tenderness. It was fire. A claim. A silent scream trapped in skin. It was him pouring every sleepless night, every unspoken word, every unshed t

Lena found herself amidst a void, a realm swallowed in darkness. No soul stirred, no light dared pierce the black. All was still.“Hello?” she called, her voice echoing into the abyss like a forgotten whisper.“Is anyone there?”Then came the sound—a rush of water, distant yet growing louder. Drawn to it, she moved forward until her feet stepped upon a river flowing beneath her, as though she walked upon the very surface of it. The darkness dispersed, giving way to a strange, ethereal light. Before her stood a creature—tall upon two legs, cloaked in crimson fur, its visage that of a great wolf, its eyes an unnatural blue, piercing and ancient. She stood frozen.“Welcome, Magdalena,” the beast spoke, its voice both thunderous and soft, like a whisper of fate. Her breath caught in her throat. That name—her full name. A name only her mother had ever spoken, a name no one else dared to utter.“Who are you?” she whispered, her hands trembling. “How do you know that name?”“Fear not, Magd

Just as Jade entered the cell where Kara was held, he crossed paths with his mother, who was departing in silence.Kara raised her gaze and asked dryly, “Have you come to finish what your mother began?”He sighed and seated himself upon the stool within the cell. “Why do you persist in this manner? You ought to face your fate with a full stomach,” he remarked, casting a glance toward the scattered contents of the meal he had brought—now strewn across the floor.“You might at least have brought something palatable,” she replied with a mocking smile. “Even a rat would turn its nose at that slop.”“Then you are clearly not hungry,” he returned. “When the Alpha comes, you shall be surprised at how dearly you will long for that very ‘rat food.’”“Why do you treat a mate thus?” she retorted, her voice edged with mirthless amusement. “Ought we not speak of that matter?”Her words brought him to a sudden halt. He met her gaze, and for a breath, neither of them spoke.Footsteps echoed down the

Lena froze.Milicent lay awake, her back to Lena, gazing out the window.A sudden, profound joy surged within Lena, and she hurried toward her.But her steps faltered midway when Milicent turned, her face pale, a gleam of madness in her eyes.Drop.Drop.Drop.Blood.Milicent gripped a knife with trembling hands, the blade pressed dangerously against her wrist, and the blood dripped steadily onto the cold stone floor.“Milicent!” Lena cried, rushing to her side. With frantic hands, she wrested the blade away and caught Milicent as she crumpled into her arms."Someone—anyone!" she screamed. "Get the healer—now!"The door slammed open, and the Beta charged in, his face drawn with concern. He knelt beside the two women, his voice a low, commanding whisper. "Stay with me, dove. Stay with me."Without a word, he lifted Milicent into his arms, cradling her as though she were a fragile thing, and with a swift motion, he carried her out of the chamber, his footsteps echoing in the silence lef

"A Lycan what?" she scoffed, brows drawn. "There are no such beings."“There are truths you have not yet been shown—truths long buried, swept beneath the dust of centuries,” he replied solemnly. “To answer your question: Lycans are real. Some call us beasts, others name us higher wolves, for we are akin to them in form, yet greater in strength and spirit. And you, my dear, are one of us. Do you remember what I told you that night?”She shook her head slowly. “You said a great deal.”“I told you never to reveal what you are to the wolves,” he said, voice low and steady. “They would not hesitate to slay you should they discover the truth. That is why your wolf has remained dormant since the hour of your birth. The mark you bear, which mirrors mine, was not given in vain—it was etched upon you to restrain your transformation. It was meant to shield you, not harm you.”The weight of his words pressed heavily upon her. She took a step back, her gaze shifting to the silver chains that boun

Maybe not with the speed of a wolf-man, but it was still far beyond human capability.Jade and her mother lunged at him, ripping him away with brutal force. He slammed into the cell gate with a heavy thud before collapsing to the floor.Cedric groaned, pushing himself up, his instincts flaring as he shifted into his wolf to fight—"Halt."Craven’s voice sliced through the tension like a blade.Everything stilled."Sit."The raging wolf obeyed without question, dropping to the ground like a hound heeding its master’s call.Craven let out a slow sigh. "I don’t want you killing these two. Vargr would never forgive me in this life. Go on—hunt. Run until your rage is calmed."The wolf whined but obeyed, trotting out of the cell without another glance.Miriam and Jade stood frozen in place, disbelief painted across their faces.Jade was the first to speak, voice edged with astonishment. "That’s a new one. He controlled a raging wolf with just words?"His mother exhaled. "No wonder wolves fe
