Rain’s POV

“What do we know?” I asked when I walked into the war room, filled with the alphas who were still fighting for me. Or at least they were royalist and loyal enough to the crown that they didn’t jump ship when I took over. And they didn’t have much love for the late king, so it's a win-win all around.

Did they like me?

Definitely not!

But I didn’t care, as I didn’t need to be liked to be a fair king. I just needed to be just and rule the way my father had taught me. I wasn’t sure I was going to be as good a king as he’d been – I was literally too damaged for that. But I wanted to honor the things he taught me and rule the way he did...

“The rebel forces have gathered near the Crimson Peak and seem to be waiting for more troops to arrive,” Alpha Oliver said, gesturing to a huge screen on the wall. “They’ve set up camp there, but for

Rain’s POVThe whole room was in uproar--- and yes, there was a part of me who liked it. It reminded me of when I first began leading the rogue pack. When I made outrageous statements, made controversial plans--- and somehow always managed to lead my pack to victory. This was why the only ones currently gaping at me as if I’d grown a second head were the alphas who didn’t know me.My pack already knew I had a plan…They trusted me!And knew I wouldn’t let them down...“That’s suicide!” Alpha Cedric exclaimed, jumping to his feet. “We can’t---!”His words cut off as my hand wrapped around his throat, and with practiced ease, I lifted him off the floor. Watching his eyes flicker from surprise to shock and in the end…Fear!“I hate disobedience,” I cut him off, my voice eerily calm as I pulled him closer, knowing I looked menacing as fuck while I stared down the alpha in front of me. “Are you dis

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 82: MIA!

Rain’s POVThe two enforcers now looked visibly nervous as they glanced at each other, clearly estimating the value of their lives.“Everyone knows that Beta Elijah has found his mate,” he replied, gulping. “They said that she’s the Luna of the White Moon Flower Pack, and it’s like a Sanctuary Pack. The ones that took in weak members or those who can’t protect themselves?”A Sanctuary Pack?!I mulled it over for a while. So the cover was working, but the rumor mill was already rolling hot and heavy. Which I had to deal with… But the Sanctuary Pack idea was a good idea. Of course, I had to reinstall the law that protected those packs, and I had to include unregistered packs, since the White Moon Flower Pack technically wasn’t registered yet. And yes, my wolf smirked wickedly, thinking about all the asshole idiots who would die testing that theory...“It

Rain’s POVI watched the text I’d gotten from my mate and quickly texted her back, letting her know that I supported whatever she felt she needed to do to trust me again. No, I didn’t like that my mate was questioning her bodyguards, but I understood that for us to rebuild trust and have a future relationship, she needed confirmation that I was telling the truth.Still fucking sucked though!“Is that your mate?” Elijah asked impatiently, standing behind me and tapping his foot, waiting until I was done with my phone. He looked pissed and considering the report we’d just gotten, I couldn’t blame him. I just happened to prioritize my mate above this shit…“She’s asking the enforcers about my relationship with Katie,” I replied, ignoring his tone.“You worried about what they’ll tell her?” He asked, and my wolf didn’t like what he impli

Selena’s POVTaken aback, I stood stunned for a moment, not entirely sure how to handle the situation. What the hell did a normal person do when someone almost twice your size was on his knees before you, begging for acceptance and entrance into your pack?!Well, beat me...But I was pretty sure I wasn’t doing it!And it only got worse when Clyde, tears streaming down his face, also fell to his knees--- surprising even his mate! He looked up at me, eyes shimmering, and his hands began to move in a flurry of signs, his fingers trembling as he too began to beg.Only one problem…I didn’t understand a word of what he said! But before I could stop him and ask his mate to translate, a deep voice ran out behind me, startling all of us.“He’s begging you,” Joey said softly, his voice even despite the deep set of his brows. “Begging you to take them in.

Selena’s POV“We heard that it’s safe,” Xavier continued quickly, his sharp senses picking up the tension, and tried to explain: “That it protects omegas and wolf-less mates. That it’s--- different!” His voice softened as he glanced at Clyde, smiling reassuringly, but his voice remained worried and strained. “We’re looking for a place like that.”My eyes glanced between the two males. Xavier looked tense, looking ready to take on anyone who could be a threat to his mate. Clyde – on the other hand – only clung to his mate tightly, watching the wolves around him as if he expected them to jump on him and tear him apart at any second. My heart clenched. There was something so vulnerable and yet brave about them standing here, asking for something so simple as a place to stay. But this wasn’t the human word. This was a pack!Once a wer
