LOGIN- ARES -By the time the red haze cleared from my eyes, the guestroom I occupied looked like a hurricane had dropped by to say hello. Every single picture that hung on the walls had been swept to the floor, the frames cracked so badly I doubted they could be repaired. There was broken glass everywhere, a coffee table had been split in two down the middle, and my fist was bleeding profusely where I had put it through the television screen.Yet the anger still smoldered in my heart, the embers low yet every bit as hot as it was when I first read that note from Father. He hadn't even bothered to tell me the news to my face. To have that much decency, at least. Just had a servant send me a note that said the wedding date would not be pushed back. That everything would continue as planned, without even so much as a memorial for Ryder. As if he had never existed at all. Even though I pleaded with him not to pull something like this.To grant Ryder at least that much respect.I had to order
–MARILIA–Just because I resigned myself to marrying Ares didn't mean I liked the idea. I spent the whole night after the goddess left tossing and turning. I barely got any sleep at all. The next morning, I decided to stay in bed for some time.I was a princess now, after all. I should be able to do whatever I wanted. Or so I thought. By seven, I had just begun to doze off when there was a knock on the door.I squeezed my eyes shut, hoping whoever it was would go away if I ignored them.No such luck. They just kept on knocking. Each knock seemed to pound into my head like a nail, making my attempts to sleep useless. At last I had to give up. I groaned with frustration as I rose from the bed and stormed to the door. I was going to give that annoying jerk a piece of my mind.I thought it was most likely a maid, or maybe a guard. Instead, when I opened the door, I came face to face with not a single maid but an army of them. Each one was carrying heaps of fabric so large they nearly hid
– MARILIA –Every single one of my thoughts came to a screeching halt, then flew out of my head. It was like my entire being had narrowed to a single point— those lips on mine, the kiss making me flush with warmth all over. It was entirely different from his cold personality, not as rough as I would have expected from a man that seemed to have been carved out of stone. In fact, it felt like he was caressing my mouth with his, and before I knew it, my head was going light. My knees buckled and I reached out instinctively, grabbing his jacket just as his hands gripped my hips to steady me. The action made fire explode in my chest and belly. It made this moment feel even more intimate for some reason.'Oh no,' I was thinking. 'This is bad. Like, really really bad. I have to put a stop to this…'But I could not for the life of me remember why. Somewhere in the distant back of my mind, I knew there were people watching, murmuring, but as for why that should matter… I couldn't remember that
- MARILIA - I felt my heart beat slower and slower until just a breath could be heard. He had one hand on my neck, the other on my shoulder. His legs spread apart and I was in the middle. I pinned his gaze, his emerald green eyes fixed right above a nose so nicely sculpted I was tempted to bite it. His jaw was delicately cut by the gods and his broad shoulders left an exciting desire to feel his wide back. For a moment I thought he wasn't real.I opened my mouth but no words came. I didn't know what to say to this devil; this handsome devil that I didn't mind if he ate me up. At that moment, a thought hit me; Ares looked nothing like his father. Alpha Magnums had a bad scar so one of his eyes was affected. He was three times larger and he had a crude look but the man in front of me had the softest skin and the most enchanting gaze. Anyone could mistake him for a god.'How could someone like him be destined to destroy all realms? What the hell happened to make him a monster?’
- MARILIA -"Lady Marlene, please calm down. It's just the aftereffects of the accident.” She tried to hide the pain in her voice. ‘The accident,’Memories began flashing before my eyes. I grabbed my head and winced in pain. I remembered the carriage falling off the cliff. I remembered the sound of my skull crack. I remembered the blur sight of the beautiful lady covered in her own blood.I looked at the plump maid. It didn't make any sense. Why is this woman calling me her name? Our resemblance was uncanny but still can’t she tell the real princess from a look alike?Something was wrong here and welding a hairbrush was not going to get me the answers I need.“Do you know me?" I asked“Yes. Yes of Course. You are the Lady Marlene, Daughter of Alpha Daven Rodrigo, and King of White Snow pack and soon to be Luna of Alpha Ryder Klaus.”My face paled. I was right. She really thinks I am the beautiful lady. “Can I be left alone?”“My lady,” “Please.” She looked into my sullen eyes and
- MARILIA –“She is getting away!!” Someone yelled from behind me. I sprint faster, clawing through the thick bushes, ignoring the branches that scratched me. They were right behind, I could smell them. My heart pounded against my chest as I fought fear so I could keep a clear head. For a moment, it worked and I noticed something. They were closing in with caution. It was weird; slavers normally hunted down runaways aggressively. Well, it didn't matter, because it was to my advantage.Day was breaking. I was nearing a crossroad. I left my scent on both roads just as dad taught me, hoping it would throw them off for a while. Then I hid. They slowed at the crossroad and started wondering which way I went. I could hear anger voices but I also heard something else; wheels. It sounded like a carriage and turned and started towards it. The vehicle soon began to come in view. There was a crest on it; the crest of the Lycan kingdom of Blood MoonI shifted back immediately I was close enough.
