CHAPTER FOUR

"Good. Meet me at the library.” he said as he continued walking

I was left stunned and flustered.

Wait, what are we going to do there?

I want to smack myself for thinking that way. What else do you think you'll do in a library but read, study, or do school related works? I shook my head at what he said, I can still see her wide back from where I am. He might feel sorry for me because I was bullied by those girls because of my grades, which is why he wanted to help me study. I don't need his sympathy! He may not be serious about it.

I continued walking inside the building, and when I arrived at our classroom, I noticed Sancha combing her hair and applying lipstick. When she lifted her gaze, our gazes locked.

"Oh, you're such a sneaky girl! What did I just hear about you being brought home by a man? Who is he?" she exclaimed excitedly as I sat down next to her.

I gave her a snide look. Where did she get that?

"Huh? What exactly do you mean?” I said, pretending.

"Liar! Nina called me on Friday and asked if I was with you, I was about to panic when she called again and said that you had been brought home by a man. We talked for a while” She chuckled.

Nina! What a character! What a chatty lady!

"That's not a big deal. He simply accompanied me because it was pouring heavily and Cielo couldn't come."

"So, who is he? Is he hot? Was he like a knight in shining armor?" she said dreamily.

"No!"

"Oh, come on. Spill it, what's the name?"

"Tss, Zeeve." i said casually.

"Zeeve......?" she asked as she awaited my next words.

"Zeeve...Bull...Ulcer?" I kept pretending that I didn't know Zeeve's surname so that she wouldn't suspect that I was interested in him.

"Do you mean, Bullecer?! Huh, Adeline? Zeeve Maxim Bullecer?" she stated. I noticed how some of our classmates turned to look at us when that name was mentioned.

"How do you know him?"

"You don't know who he is?" she exclaimed histriously.

"No.. Is it necessary for me to be familiar with him?"

"But you seemed to enjoy their music!"

"Music?" I inquired, perplexed.

"He is a Millenium Dreams band member."

My mouth split open as I realized what had happened. That's why I believe almost everyone here knows him. Millenium Dreams were introduced to me by Sancha; I listened to them once on her cellphone because she has a copy of their song's audio. I was immediately captivated by how beautiful their voices are and how well they harmonize.

But that's all there is to it! I was never interested in getting to know them one by one because I was content just hearing them sing. Sancha also mentioned that they were just getting started, so how come so many people knew him?

"I didn't know," I admitted quietly.

"Because you were never interested in the first place. You've got to know his bandmates, girl. Tell him to get me a fan signed by Kiko, or all of them! I’m such a huge fan."

Our conversation was cut short when our Economics professor entered the room.  In contrast to other subjects, I can say that I am passing Economics.

It had been a long and tedious hour of him lecturing us about Basic Macroeconomics with Price Theory, so when he concluded our discussion, I heard a collective sigh of relief from my other classmates

"Oh my gosh, that's terrible. When he was talking, I almost nodded off. His voice has the soothing quality of a lullaby!" As soon as the professor walked out of the room, Sancha made a remark.

I chuckled lightly because what she's saying is correct. Mr. Santiago has a very soft voice, so we were all dozing off while he was teaching us. This topic didn't pique our interest.

I was so nervous when Ms. Manalo entered the room for the next subject, College Algebra. She was the terror of all terrors! She was always asking us about what we had learned in previous lessons, and she loved surprises! Surprise quizzes, exams and oral recitation.

I sometimes know the answers to her questions, but when I see her staring at me as if she’s waiting for me to make a mistake, I get nervous and insecure. As a result, I'm going to stutter or have a mental block.

"Nice. Please take a seat, Ms. Andrada."

I exhaled a sigh. Fortunately, I was able to answer her Algebra question. I ought to be! My weekends are spent not only watching movies but also studying.

"Ade, you did an excellent job! When she made me stand up, I was sweating profusely. I thought I couldn't answer it. That menopausal woman." Sancha said with a tsk. We were walking to the cafeteria because it was lunchtime.

I smacked her arm because she was always referring to Ms. Manalo as a menopausal lady. She was a woman in her mid-40s, she was referring to her as a menopausal lady due to her mood swings.

"What? It is true!"

"Perhaps she wasn't simply in a good mood. We all have bad days, as you are aware."

"Yes, she has a bad day every single day. She had a bad mood for the entire semester” she chuckled.

Yes, it is correct. Her smile was never visible to me. Is it possible that she is having a problem? It's no longer my business to mind so I shrugged.

When we arrived at the cafeteria, we immediately placed our bags on a vacant table and proceeded to the counter to order food. I just ordered fried chicken, salad, and a mango shake.

"Oh crap! They are here."

My gaze was drawn to Sancha, who was squealing quietly at my side.

"Who?"

"The Millennium Dreams!"
