Chapter 40

When we got back to the pack house, I stepped out of the SUV and yelled, “Hey Blaise! I have a question for you!” Blaise landed at the tree line next to the house and put on a pair of shorts that was in a hollowed-out tree stump. He walked up to us, and asked, “What can I do for you, Princess?” I asked, “Have you gotten any updates on the Alaric substitute?” He nodded, “I have. One of the men, I believe it’s Alfred, has a family member caring for him. They are looking for him, because he didn’t come home last night.” I laughed, “He’s not going to come home at all.” Blaise gave me his best side-eye, “What did you do?” I laughed, “He and his friends are in the dungeons here. I’m hoping to keep them there at least until after the event.” Blaise nodded, “That shouldn’t be a problem, but you should know that the family knows where he was going and they are hunters also.” I cringed, “Shit. Well, I guess we need to see what’s going on then. Would you want to come in and tell the guys the late
