IV. Dead End

"The reason why our ancestors have been trying to rise the four kingdoms is to unite the werewolves of Yerech. Due to the epidemic that was not solved by the royal breeds of the four kingdoms, the people doubted our ability to rule the land of Yerech, and as a result, there was a conflict in different parts of Yerech between supporters of the royal breed and the opposition.

"Also, the disintegration of the four kingdoms' people is not Yerech's only problem; due to the extinction of the royal breeds, the Khituls are gradually increasing in our country; they are mortal enemies of our race; they are a threat to our race; there are even reports that they are taking captive some of Yerach's subjects."

I clenched my fists and lowered my gaze. "I understand that you are only concerned with the welfare of Yerech and its people, but I still don't understand why I have to be the mother of your children." Nothing he said had anything to do with my situation; I couldn't understand why they wanted me to bear their heirs.

"You're not directly involved in the Yerech situation, but as the only omega on the entire continent, you're the only one who can provide an answer to everything. Yes, you will not be able to unite the people simply because you are the only omega, nor will the situation between Yerech and the Khituls change because of you. But, princess, the first step toward resolving all of our country's problems begins with you.

"By giving birth to our heirs, we can secure the leaders of the next generation. We can gradually gain the trust of our people, and we can unite them through the children we will give birth to. Once we have united the people, we have a great chance to win against the Khituls, who are gradually conquering Yerech. You are well aware that children born to parents of royal descent have a significant influence on our beliefs and the faith of our people."

I bit my lower lip. He is right; I am well-versed in the subject because I am a product of this custom. My parents married in order to gain the trust and faith of the Magenta constituency. I am the child of two people who have no feelings for or love for each other. In the realm of royal breeds, I was born to be a symbol of royalty.

"I hope you will think about what I said, princess."

I looked up at Sir Nahas.

"We don't want to use force, so I hope you will reconsider this matter. Just to let you know, princess, we four siblings are not saints, and we want nothing more than to fulfill this duty assigned to us by our deceased parents, and if your response is negative, I am sorry to say that nothing will change; you will still be the mother of our children," he said emphatically.

I held my breath. In that case, no matter how I answer them, nothing will change; whether I agree or disagree, the result will be the same. They are only giving me consideration in this situation, not options.

"I've wasted too much of your time; I'll take my leave now so you can rest, princess," he said as he stood up. "Ah, I almost forgot." He took something from his cassock, walked toward me, and sat down next to me on the sofa. He then pulled my hair without warning, which surprised me.

"Sir Nahas!" I exclaimed.

"Oh!" Embarrassed, he withdrew his hand and scratched the back of his neck. "Sorry, I surprised you. I got used to doing it when you were sleeping; could you show me your neck?"

"W-why?" I asked, shyly covering my neck with my hand. I immediately felt the rush of heat on both my faces. What does he mean when he says he's used to doing this to me? My eyes widened. Wait, they didn't do anything to me when I was asleep, did they?

"Ah, please don't misunderstand." He raised his hands in shame, denying the obvious accusation written on my face. "This is why I want to see your neck."

I lowered my gaze to the object in his right hand. "What is that?"

"It did not exist during your time, so it's new to you, but the doctors call this thing an injection. Because of the epidemic, doctors develop this type of medication," he explained.

"What is the red thing inside the injection?"

"My blood," he kindly replied.

"Your blood?"

"Yes," he answered with a smile.

"B-but what are you going to do with all that blood of yours?"

"500 years ago, there was a princess who fell into slumber because of an incurable illness. Years later, when doctors discovered a new method of treatment, the royal breed tried to use it on the sleeping princess, and they gradually saw the improvement of her condition until she woke up completely." He crossed his arms over his chest. "I'm referring to you, princess, and this injection is the reason you're standing in front of me right now."

"Huh? I still don’t understand, Sir Nahas."

"To put it simply, our blood, the blood of the four alpha gods of Yerech, is the only medicine for your illness, princess. We've been injecting our blood into you for the past year, ever since we discovered your body in that terrifying room.

"We still don't fully understand your illness, but we've proven that our blood is an effective medicine for you; the purple and green bruises all over your body have gone, and you don't have the nosebleeds that happen to you even when you're sleeping."

And that's when I immediately stood up and faced the room's large mirror. I lifted my thick skirt to inspect my legs without hesitation. He was right. The unsightly bruises on my body have vanished. I hadn't noticed this earlier, and what I discovered made me so happy. I faced Sir Nahas with a smile, but he avoided looking at me, so I looked down at myself and quickly let go of the hem of my dress.

"I'm sorry, Sir Nahas. I didn't mean to be impolite in front of you, but am I completely healed?" I asked, my heart racing.

"Our blood can only heal you temporarily. When we thought you had recovered, we stopped injecting you with our blood, but it is unfortunate that one day after you did not receive our blood, your illness returned, and it appears to have gotten worse because we saw that your ears bleed and you also tear blood, but don't worry, princess, my brothers and I will continue to find a cure for your illness."

I got upset. My situation has just become more complicated. Their blood is the reason my condition has improved, so basically, I can't live without them. In that case, I have no choice but to be submissive to them if I want to live.
