ISABELLA'S POV

A loud piercing scream coursed through my lips as I jolted awake, sitting up in bed, my body covered in sweat. Luca wasn’t in. Diego wasn’t either. They’d both had a conversation going on while I’d fallen asleep.

The pain came again and I let out another rippling scream. My body aching, my belly having a piercing pain, my mind raced across when the door had jolted open suddenly. Diego stormed in, holding me into his arms.

“Easy, kotyonok. A nightmare?” he questioned, as Luca walked in on cue. I’d shrugged, and then I’d screamed again, tears slipping free from my eyes. I’d never felt pain this intense before. It made me feel miserable.

“Diego. She’s bleeding,” Luca screamed in a startled tone. Diego and I had moved our glance down toward my thighs to see blood streaking down to my feet.

“Fuck! The baby,” Diego screamed, hoisting me up in his arms.

“Hospital. Now.” he’d ordered Luca, who’d turned on his feet as I’d cried again. I’d curled my body, digging my head into Die

DIEGO'S POV.“Enough, Diego!” Nico yelled, throwing himself at me. Only when he'd yanked me by my arm, letting the saw fall from my hand, had I snapped back to reality. I'd staggered backward a bit, running my blood-draped hands through my hair with a sigh dragged off my lips.“You lost it. You blacked out. Fuck! How long have you been here?” Nico asked. My eyes darted around gently, resting back against the sawed fingers and bodies lined on the floor. Limbs detached from washers, severed fingers. Chopped flesh. I'd groaned, feeling utterly dispelled by the distraction.“Go away, I'm busy. Some of us have to clear out the dirt. Don’t we?” I'd asked in a snarky tone, being irritable and annoying as fuck.“Get away from you? Your child is dead, and you’ve been here all day… and night. For an entire day sawing off bodies and murdering people?”“No. Not murder. They’d been bits and pieces of men we needed to get rid of anyway, so why not do it my bloody self? No one does the job better an

LUCAS’ POVI'd marched past the main gates, ignoring the men situated at the entrance as they'd all bowed as courtesy towards me. Diego and I had driven away from the Vladimir mansion. I didn't care what would happen to the others there, but I was well assured they'd all be given a most gruesome death, like Dante had promised.“Where is she?” I'd asked Macini as soon as I'd approached the first flight of stairs.“The last room. Antonio is with her as well as Alessia and her father,” Macini drawled, stopping me to speak. A confused frown contorted on my face as Diego stopped by my side too.“Whose father now?” Diego asked as we both glanced back at Macini, hoping to catch an explanation.“You won't like this.” Macini stopped halfway, his eyes dropping awkwardly towards that of dieo’s. As I waited for my cue, I'd given him a curt nod as a signal that it was fine—I didn’t mind Diego hearing anything about their lord.“He's with me. Speak, Macini,” I'd ordered. Macini straightened in his

DIEGO’S POV Luca was antsy, jittery—a raging mess. His bloodshot eyes darted to mine constantly along the drive. My palm rested on his thigh as his legs bounced up and down in an unstable rhythm."Are you sure about this?" he'd asked, his voice barely above a whisper. Although he tried to keep calm, I could feel the edge in it. I gave him a curt nod, signaling that I knew what I was doing.Isabella was missing. No—scratch that—taken. By my father.I’d swear it on my life. I was raised by the man, watched him raise three of my brothers. The only one he’d ever gone soft on was Sofia. And that was no miracle—it was because we were there. We stood up for her and shut down whatever nonsense Father had planned.I understood his thinking to an extent. His daughter—whom he’d groomed to be sold off or exchanged in an arranged marriage for some business merger—had gotten knocked up by a Ricci. Isabella’s brother. And now his own son had gotten his daughter knocked up. But it was never about

ISABELLA'S POVMy body ached terribly, a searing pain from my side as I parted my eyes open. I dragged out a painful whine, seeing I’d been tied up, my feet and arms bound. My back arched forward. But what bothered me most was the realization that I was stripped, naked, sweating. My eyes darted around in search for an outlet, an object of defense, a means of escape—but nothing, just the same blank space that stretched out into a doorless corridor, the high roofs made it impossible for me to reach. There’d been no ladder, no chair, but then I caught sight of a blinking camera, the bright red light going on and off. Someone was watching me—whoever had done this.I tilted my head in the direction. A slow smile spread up my lips as I arched up my brows, mocking whoever was behind it—my best bet. If they could see me, they could hear me, and begging would be the last thing that would slip past my lips. After all, now I was a Vladimire by birth. A Ricci by marriage. Weakness had never b
