TEN years gone

Amelia pushed the door to her apartment, looking tired as ever before walking to the sitting room.

Getting to the sitting room, everywhere was dark except for the television which was turned on ..

Amelia couldn't help but to be panicked as she clearly remembered turning off  her television before leaving her house.

Shortly, she heard a voice which made her shudder in fear.

A loud scream escaped her mouth , making her nervously rush to get the light switched on.

"How the hell did you get inside my apartment?" Amelia asked almost immediately.

"Have you forgotten I'm your best friend? Besides I know where you hide your spare key"Amelia's best friend Linda spoke up.

Amelia fell short of words , before her attention got caught up inside the television.

Linda sighed seeing how her best friend's eyes were helplessly glued to the television.

Linda: Stanley is having his final March at Atlantic City, what do you think huh?

Amelia was still silent with different thoughts going through her mind.

"Do you have any regrets?"Linda whispered into her friend's ear but received a deadly glare.

"A  regret?No I never do, in fact that was the ….."Amelia stuttered, rubbing her temple in embarrassment.

"Umm really?" Linda said, teasing her friend who already turned around to leave for her room.

"Maybe I should go for him! Afterall thousand ladies are dieing to have a one night stand with him. You'll allow me right ?''Linda asked teasley.

"You…!!!"

Amelia fastened her footsteps towards her room, feeling nervous and angry at the same time.

" Hey! I'm just kidding though but who knows whether there's someone out there with the motive of pursuing Stanley? Who knows?"

Amelia was relieved for a second when she heard her friend's first few words but her face dramatically changed when she heard the last few parts.

"What I'm I even saying? Thousands of ladies want to pursue him , he's a big time celebrity afterall" Linda yelled out those words clearly for her friend to hear before resuming back to the television.

Linda sighed.

"Do you hate me now?"

Gulp!

 She gulped down the wine inside her glass cup in one go before letting down her tears , the tears she has been keeping inside her.

Suddenly realization dawned on Amelia that she didn't know where the boldness came from.

Amelia picked her phone and immediately called her secretary who picked up almost immediately the phone rang.

" Book a first class flight to Atlanta city" Amelia said with boldness , not knowing where the sudden boldness came from.

"But ma'am what about the contract we are signing tomorrow morning with our business partners?" She asked.

Amelia was silent for a second , but she already made up her mind to go for what she wanted.

"You can put it on hold or you can cancel it!"

Amelia knew fully well that the contract cost them a whopping five billion dollars but she decided to cancel it just to go for what she wants..

"But ma'am , are you really sure about that?"she asked, hoping her miss would reconsider it again.

"No but , do as you're being told, Young lady" Amelia said In a Stern tone as she had made up her mind.

      Call ended.

 Amelia sighed tiredly feeling a little bit tipsy before collapsing on the king sized bed with the photo on her chest with her arm wrapped tightly around it.

    Next morning.

Amelia rolled out her small luggage looking fully dressed up with her hand bag in her left hand.

" Morning , what's up with two bags?"Linda asked with curiosity

"Morning, it means mind your freaking business"Amelia said with an eyeroll

Linda dropped the mug in her hands on the dining table before rushing towards her friend.

"You'll make a joke of me, if I say it" Amelia mumbled.

"Com'on why would I ? I'm your best friend and I'll always understand you okay? Don't you trust me?"Linda asked staring Keely at Amelia as the held each other hand

After a brief thought, Amelia made up her mind to tell her friend with the only hope of not being discouraged.

"I have made up my mind to go after him"Amelia said with a deep breath 

" I'm sure it took you a while to make the decision but you made it after all , go for it bestie!" Linda said .

Amelia's face dilated in shock upon hearing her friend's response.

"You think so? You think I should go after him?"Amelia asked once again to be sure of what she heard.

" No , I know so" Linda said as the both disengaged from the hug.

" I made some cold milk , how about you take it before leaving?"Linda asked .

"You're the best! You know me the most!"Amelia gushed happily before rushing to the dinning table to gulp down the cold milk made for it, it was her favorite.

" I got this for you beforehand with the hope that if you made the decision, I'll give it to you , here it is,"Linda said as she beckoned the ticket to her friend.

Linda dropped the ticket she had gotten even though it wasn't easy to get the ticket , but she put more effort and got it for her best friend.

"Oh my goodness! That's the ticket to the lounge?" Amelia asked with a big curiosity.

"Yes," Linda said .

   At the City airport.

Her booked flight would be leaving at ten o'clock and luckily she came to the airport earlier and got about eight minutes left.
